走过太和殿便是中和殿、保和殿，它们一起并称三大殿，他们的做工真是精美异常。在太阳的映衬下，黄色的琉璃瓦闪烁着宝石般的光，美不胜收。不禁感叹古代工匠巧夺天工的设计与手艺。

perform every day tasks. Many of these changes are apparent, while others we may

not even be aware of.

Cell phones have brought a whole new meaning to the term multitasking.

Twenty years ago, it was not possible to talk to the office while you were at

the grocery store picking up some necessary items. You could never have had a

three-way business conference while you were fixing dinner or been able to deal

with a business client from home while caring for a sick child. Cell phones have

enabled us to do various tasks all at the same time.

Cell phones have also enabled families to keep in closer touch with each

other. Children can contact you if they have missed their ride form soccer

forgotten things or have had to drive all the way back home to get it. If your

car breaks down, you automatically call for help instead of having to walk to

Cell phones have also changed the way that people interact with each other.

When we call someone, we are actually calling the person and not a place. This

enables us to be more spontaneous when making plans as you rarely get a busy

signal and unlike a land line telephone, someone is always home. Cell phones

also enable us to call if we are going to be late for an appointment, although

this has led to cell phone users running late more often than those who do not

One of the greatest disadvantages of the cellular phone is the fact that we

If the most beautiful season of the year is spring, for me, the most

interesting festival of the year is the new years Eve! On that day, we should

The usage of Internet becomes one of the most controversial topics in the

society. As a college student, I believe Internet is beneficial to me more than

the way it harms me. There are many advantages for using Internet.

First, I can best use my time to find information online instead of going

to different libraries. Also, the information can be dated back in decades ago.

It is very helpful to use those information as reference and historical proof.

In the library, it is hard to find so much "old" information. Another advantage

to use Internet is that I can stay home and have a lecture online. It is much

more convenience to me because I can stay warm to have class in the winter time

instead of spending two hours on the bus and physically attend class. In

addition, Internet provides me a better way to communicate with my friends and

professors. I can get response from my professor in a few minutes instead of

waiting outside of his door for hours. Some of my friends are living in a

foreign countries, I can simply just drop him an email whenever I can and get a

message from him very quick. It is much better than waiting for letters. Also,

the email will not lose while the letter might be losing in the process of

delivery.

However, there are also disadvantage of using Internet. For example, I

might spend too much time on the Internet to concentrate on my study. Also,

there is a chance that I am cheated because of the Internet purchasing. Last,

Internet has lots of information, both helpful and harmful. There might be too

much tempatation that I will access some of the harmful information I can on the

Internet.

Even though the usage of Internet has both positive and negative effect to

me, I still consider Internet is a symbol of technology development. I believe I

can use the Internet very well as long as I know how to control myself.

The Dragon Boat Festival is one of the most popular traditional festivals

celebrated in China, which is on the fifth of the fifth lunar month, also known

as Duanwu Festival. It’s said that it is to commemorate the death of a Chinese

patriotic poet, Qu Yuan, who was snared by corrupt officials in ancient China

and finally committed suicide by drowning himself in the Miluo River to protest

against them.

The traditions and customs held on this festival differ from place to

place, but there are some common in them. First, the most famous and great

tradition is holding Dragon Boat races, which are held by fishermen’s attempt to

protect Qu Yuan’s body against attacking by fishes and other animals in the

river by beating drums and row the dragon shaped boat. Nowadays dragon boat

races have been an annual popular sport activity among people. In addition,

making and eating Zongzi—a dumpling made of glutinous rice and wrapped in bamboo

or reed leaves—is also a popular custom during this day. It can be made by many

kinds of stuffing. What’s more, hanging herbs on the front door, drinking

realgar wine and pasting up picture of Zhongkui—a mythic guardian figure in

ancient china—are also popular during the festival, which are mean to protect

people from evil and disease.

These customs and traditions have been changed a little in recent years,

but they still make contribution to the spread and inheritance of Chinese

culture.

environmental protection.

Green environmental protection is to make us live a happy life in a clean

environment, however, the environment around us in a worse if we dont alarm,

then, our motherland will be a mess in our hands! Green environmental protection

starts from me. My dad used to drive his car to work, listen to my advice, to

protect the environment, he ride a bike from now on, he thought that not only

the exercise of his body, also for the green environmental protection.

My mother began to contribute to the green environmental protection. Before

she went to vegetable market to buy food, she used plastic bags, a village green

我们从东南门入园，步行一小段路，远处蔚蓝天空下，一片金色的海洋吸引了我的目光。那“海洋”在微风中荡起了金色的浪花，像是被斜阳照射的海面，波光粼粼，反射出灿烂的光芒。那种金色朴素中带着几分华丽，华丽中又有几分清新，显出一派迷人的自然风光。浪花快乐地涌动着，一波一波向我奔来，我若脱笼之鹄，向着那片金色的海洋冲去。

啊！原来是郁金香！阵阵花香，迎面而来，芬芳扑鼻。有的含苞欲放，有的正炫耀自己，有的迎着太阳起舞。它们像受过训练的舞者，时而踮起脚尖，时而劈着竖叉，时而来一个360度的高难度大旋转。它们一会儿跳起芭蕾，一会儿来段踢踏，一会儿舞动着金色的绸子展示着古典舞。我沿着郁金香园转了好几圈，恋恋不舍地往北走。

郁金香园的东北边是望湖亭，我们站在上面，远眺天鹅湖，美景尽收眼底。绕过天鹅湖，来到松林和芍药园，那里松树挺拔，芍药雪白，风景秀丽，可真是拍照的好地方呢。

日落时分，我们从北门离开植物园。植物园之旅让我收获了快乐，收获了对花草树木的喜爱，收获了一肚子关于大自然的知识。大自然你好，植物园我们下次见。

暑假里，我和妈妈很高兴来到了北京旅游。第一天我们来到了位于市中心的故宫博物院参观并游览。

走进故宫的大门，人山人海，不过丝毫没有影响我游览故宫的心情。“哇!这里真大啊!”我情不自禁的喊起来。”我们首先参观了故宫的建筑模型和它的建筑构建。导游说：“故宫占地72万多平方米，共有宫殿9999间半。宫殿为青白石底座，高大的屋脊，黄色的琉璃瓦，到处是龙的图案，并饰以金壁辉煌的色彩。故宫它的气势宏伟，规划严整，极为壮观”。

我们从御花园一直游览到太和殿，真是叹为观止呀!在故宫里，最引人注目的要算是“三大殿”了：太和殿、中和殿、保和殿。它们都建在汉白玉砌成的8米高的台基上，远远望去犹如神话中的琼楼玉宇。我花了九牛二虎之力才挤进去，里面有许多以前皇上用过的家具，破破烂烂的，还有蜘蛛网!我奇怪地问：“妈妈，这些是什么东西呀!乱七八糟的!”妈妈说：“其实以前这里有很多珍宝，但蒋介石逃到台湾时掠走了宫中的许多珍宝，还有一些流失在国外”。听到这里我有些惋惜，我为这些宝物的流失而感到难过。

每当我回想起今年暑假我们去北京的时候，我情不自禁地想起去故宫的那天。

那天早上妈妈告诉我今天要去举世闻名的故宫。我脑海里立刻浮现了电视里古代皇帝们生活的情景和成千上万件珍贵文物的摸样。我越想越激动，于是迫不及待地清理好行装，朝故宫的方向飞奔

到了故宫，我和妈妈就被人流冲散了，我在人山人海中费了一番周折找到了妈妈。我不禁地说;“真是世界着名的景点呀，人好像草原上的草一样茂盛，唉!”

过了午门，就到了金碧辉煌的太和殿。太和殿的前面有两个威风凛凛的青铜狮子，时刻守护着太和殿。太和殿的门上、窗上和屋顶上都镶嵌了金黄色的龙，十分华美，突显了皇室的尊贵。屋顶上的黄色琉璃瓦，映衬着太阳的光辉，屋角上有十一只小兽，突显了太和殿皇权的尊严。站在太和殿的前方，便可想象出皇帝上朝时文武大臣和宫女跪地遵命的情景。太和殿虽然经历了千百年岁月的沧桑，还是能把从前的雄姿展现给游客。古代皇宫的建筑十分精美，十分坚固，足以证明我国古人的勤劳和聪慧。

接下来我们又游览了中和殿、保和殿、养心殿等精美的古代宫殿。最后我们来到了皇家花园——御花园。御花园中种植了上百种名贵花草树木，有高大苍翠的老者——柏树，有纤细碧绿的少女——紫藤，还有雄伟威风的士兵——白皮松。花园中矗立着一座名叫堆秀山的假山，山上有一座小凉亭，这就是中秋节时皇帝和妃嫔宫女们赏月的地方。皇帝能够在如此美丽的地方赏月，而劳动人民却只能默默为皇帝效劳，古时候劳动人民和皇帝的生活环境真是天壤之别呀!御花园里的每一棵树和每一枝花都是古代劳动人民用辛劳的汗水浇灌而成的，我们应该好好保护这里，让游客们欣赏这美好、洁净的花园。

北京有着许多名胜古迹，而最令人神往、敬畏的地方应该是北京故宫。

北京故宫悠久，自从1420年以来，经历了580多年，至今还矗立在这里，让人为之惊叹!

走进天安门，就是北京故宫了，现在矗立在眼前的就是午门了，它的城墙高约十米，那上面矗立着檐崇楼，在阳光的照耀下闪闪发光，让人眩目。

走进午门，太和门近在眼前，它是外朝三大殿的正门，也是北京故宫内等级最高的门。广场玉带河上，五座内金水桥雕栏玉砌，与太和门交相辉映。

迈出太和门，遥望太和殿，只见汉白玉洁白无瑕，配上代表皇家的红墙、黄瓦，让人觉醒其中。走近了看，三层汉白玉台阶上雕龙刻凤，主殿金碧辉煌，中央放置纯金宝座，宝座上方挂着一块牌匾，上书：“正大光明”四字。宝座两旁放置轩辕镜，殿内以“金砖”铺地，檐角安置十个走兽……使人眼花缭乱。
