human beings, especially the very precious one. Innocent animals was dead for

their meat, fur and tooth, it was just used to fill up human beings desire. In

my point of view, the wild animals were protected effectively still has a long

way to go.

Firstly, people should try harder to make a better place for animals. The

land where the wild animals live was deprived by human being. For hundreds

years, people cut the trees to make land for their living and farming, wild

animals homeland was took, they have no choice but run away. What is more,

human beings break the food link in nature; wild animals can not find enough

food to keep alive. There is no doubt that the destruction of nature has become

a big problem to kill wild animal, for instance, a polar bear was starved to

death because of the greenhouse effect, the ice was melt away, the seadog and

fish that polar bear like to eat are far away from them. For those reasons,

people should protect the environment first if they want to protect wild animals

effectively.

Second, no buying, no killing. Some rich people like to wear fur coat, they

treat it as a status symbol, especially for rich woman, they think animal fur is

beautiful and warm, they will never consider that the fur they wear for years is

the skin that animal wear for their whole life, and they knew how bloody when

people took the fur from animal but they choose to ignore it. If people do not

buy the fur and tooth, lots of wild animals will be survived.

In sum, wild animals are our friends, we should give back and protect their

homeland, and stop buying their body part, or our future generations will see

them in zoo and museum.

There are many different beliefs about the origin of the Lantern Festival.

But one thing for sure is that it had something to do with celebrating and

cultivating positive relationship between people, families, nature and the

higher beings they believed were responsible for bringing/returning the light

each year.

One legend tells us that it was a time to worship Taiyi, the God of Heaven

in ancient times. The belief was that the God of Heaven controlled the destiny

of the human world. He had sixteen dragons at his beck and call and he decided

when to inflict drought, storms, famine or pestilence upon human beings.

Beginning with Qinshihuang, the first emperor to unite the country, all the

emperors ordered splendid ceremonies each year. The emperor would ask Taiyi to

bring favorable weather and good health to him and his people. Emperor Wudi of

the Han Dynasty directed special attention to this event. In 104 BC, he

proclaimed it as one of the most important celebrations and the ceremony would

last throughout the night. They clean it all up in the morning.

Another legend associates the Lantern Festival with Taoism. Tianguan is the

Taoist god responsible for good fortune. His birthday falls on the 15th day of

the first lunar month. It is said that Tianguan likes all types of

entertainment, so followers prepare various kinds of activities during which

they pray for good fortune.

Yet another common legend dealing with the origins of the Lantern Festival

speaks of a beautiful bird that flew down to earth from heaven, which was hunted

and killed by some villagers. This angered the Jade Emperor in Heaven because

the bird was his favorite one. Therefore, he planned a storm of fire to destroy

the village on the 15th lunar day. The Jade Emperors daughter heard of this

plan, and warned the villagers of her father’s plan to destroy their village.

The village was in turmoil because nobody knew how should they escape their

imminent destruction.

However, a wise man from another village suggested that every family should

hang red lanterns around their houses, set up bonfires on the streets, and

explode firecrackers on the 14th, 15th, and 16th lunar days. This would give the

village the appearance of being on fire to the Jade Emperor. On the 15th lunar

day, troops sent down from heaven whose mission was to destroy the village saw

that the village was already ablaze, and returned to heaven to report to the

Jade Emperor. Satisfied, the Jade Emperor decided not to burn down the village.

From that day on, people celebrate the anniversary on the 15th lunar day every

year by carrying red lanterns on the streets and exploding firecrackers and

fireworks.

There are many stories on how this festival was created. One other story is

about a maid. In the Han Dynasty, Mr. Eastern was a favorite advisor of the

emperor. One winter day, he went to the garden and heard a little girl crying

and getting ready to jump into a well to commit suicide. Mr. Eastern stopped her

and asked why. She said she was a maid in the emperors palace and her name was

Yuan-Xiao.

She never had the chance to meet her family after she started worked at the

palace. She missed them so much every 12th lunar month. If she couldnt have the

chance to show her filial piety in this life, she would rather die. Mr. Eastern

promised her to find a way so she could reunion with her family. Mr. Eastern

left the palace and set up a fortune-telling stall on the street and disguised

himself as a fortuneteller. Because of his reputation, many people asked for

their fortunes.

But every one got the same prediction - a severe fire accident on the 15th

lunar day. The rumor spread quickly. Everyone was worried about the future and

asked Mr. Eastern for help. Mr. Eastern said, "On the 13th lunar day, the God of

Fire will send a fairy lady in red to burn down the city. If you see a lady in

red wearing green pants riding a black horse on that day, you should ask for her

mercy." On that day, Yuan-Xiao pretended to be the red fairy lady. When people

asked for her help, she said, "Im the messenger of the God of Fire and came to

check on the city and Im going to set up fire on 15th. This is an order from

Jade Emperor. He will watch from the heavens.

I will give you a copy of the imperial decree from the God of Fire. You

should go to ask your emperor to find a way out." After she left, people went to

the palace to show the emperor the decree which reads "The capital city is in

trouble. Fire burns on the palace, and fire from Heaven burns all night long on

the 15th." The emperor of Han Dynasty was very shocked. He called and asked Mr.

Eastern for advice. After pondering for a while, Mr. Eastern said, "I heard that

the God of Fire likes to eat Tang-Yuan (Sweet dumpling). Does Yuan-Xiao often

cook Tang-Yuan for you? On the 15th lunar day, let Yuan-Xiao make Tang-Yuan.

Your Majesty will take charge of the worshipping ceremony and you will give

an order to every house to prepare Tang-Yuan to worship the God of Fire at the

same time. Also, deliver another order to ask every house in the city to hang

red lantern and explode fire crackers. Lastly, everyone in the palace and people

outside the city should carry their lanterns on the street to watch the lantern

decoration and fireworks. If everything goes this way, the Jade Emperor would be

deceived.

Then everyone can avoid the fire accident." The emperor happily followed

the plan. Lanterns were everywhere in the capital city on the night of the 15th

lunar day. People were walking on the street. Fire crackers kept making lots of

noise. It looked like the entire city was on fire. Yuan-Xiaos parents went into

the palace to watch the lantern decorations, and Yuan-Xiao made a big lantern

and wrote her name on the lantern. They happily reunited together after her

parents called her name. Everybody was safe during the night. The emperor of Han

Dynasty had a new order that people should do the same thing every year. Since

Yuan-Xiao cooked the best Tan-Yuan, people called the day Yuan-Xiao

Festival.

Young people were chaperoned in the streets in hopes of finding love.

Matchmakers acted busily in hopes of pairing couples. The brightest lanterns

were symbolic of good luck and hope. As time has passed, the festival no longer

has such implications.

Those who do not carry lanterns often enjoy watching informal lantern

parades. In addition to eating tangyuan (simplified Chinese: 汤圆; traditional

Chinese: 湯圓; pinyin: tāngyuán), another popular activity at this festival is

guessing lantern riddles (which became part of the festival during the Tang

Dynasty), which often contain messages of good fortune, family reunion, abundant

harvest, prosperity and love.

On March 8th, 1975, the United Nation started to celebrate the

International Women’s Day. In China, the women’s day also called “March 8th”day.

Why we celebrate women’s day? There is a long story.

On March 8th, 1909, the Women’s Union of Chicago demonstrated against the

inequality between men and women. They demanded that they should have the same

payments, the same working hours as men had, and they should have the rights to

vote. They even put forward a slogan: Bread and Rose, which stood for equal

payment and a better living standard. This demonstrated had caused international

attention to the women’s rights. A year later, a critical meeting was held in

Demark, in order to promote the women’s liberation and equal rights, the council

members decided to establish the Women’s Day on March 8th. Then March 8th, 1911

just became the first Women’s day.

In our country, during the women’s day, the women usually have a day-off

holiday. The communities or companies will organize the recreational activities

such as a spring outing, a nice dinner and some extra welfare. On this special

day, the women can really realize that a woman’s value is not only giving birth

to a child, doing endless housework, but also find her own status in the modern

society. That is she can make a different. She can do everything that a man can

do. When you look around, you will find that more and more women are acting as

scientists, doctors, lawyers, even leaders. Just try to remember, women rule

“为什么每到周四我就这么倒霉啊?”我的内心在疯狂的呐喊着，但脸上却依旧面不改色，周围是匆匆而过赶着放学的人群，而我却看着我眼前这个人，眼神中充满了怨恨。

还没等我开口说话，他便开始教训起了我：“学校的规章制度你不知道吗?明令禁止不许交头接耳，你倒好，明知故犯?”他的声音不大，却足以传递到周围每个人的耳中，我的眼神中充满着怨恨，狠狠瞪着他，一言不发。尽管如此，我还是感觉到一股热气汇集到我的脸上。

只见他掏出那本罪恶的小本子，缓缓记上了我的大名，严肃的说到说：“要么罚扫一周，要么扣班级分，取消你们班文明标兵班，自己选择。”天知道班主任是有多喜欢那块红色的小牌子，要求我们每月都要拿到那块小牌子，否则又要挨不少教训。想到这，我义无反顾地选了罚扫的惩罚。

展望着下一周的生活，不禁叹了口气，唉，谁让自己明知故犯呢，真是该的。

不过孔子在《论语》中强调君子最基本的人格标准：就是做一个有担当的人。学会承担责任，去创造属于自己的那一份美好。

Today, I did housework for grandmother. She is not very healthy and I decide to do housework for her more frequently. And she will feel happy and become better. Suddenly, an idea hit me that it’s terrible to grow old becuase you have to worry about both your health and others’ opinions. Once again, I make a decision to be a good girl.

My grandparents believed you were either honest or you werent. There was

no in between. They had a simple motto hanging on their living-room wall: "Life

is like a field of newly fallen snow; where I choose to walk every step will

show. "They didnt have to talk about it--they demonstratedthe motto by the way

they lived. They understood instinctively that integrity means having a personal

standard of morality and ethics that does not sell out to expediency and that is

not relative to the situation at hand. Integrity is an inner standard for

judging your behavior.Unfortunately, integrity is in short supply today--and

getting scarcer. But it is the real bottom line in every area of society.And it

is something we must demand of ourselves.

A good test for this value is to look at what I call the Integrity Trial,

which consists of three key principles: Stand firmly for your convictions in the

face of personal pressure.

When you know youre right, you cant back down. Always give others credit

that is rightfully theirs. Dont be afraid of those who might have a better idea

or who might even be smarter than you are. Be honest and open about who you

really are. People who lack genuine core values rely on external factors--their

looks or status---in order to feel good about themselves. Inevitably they will

do everything they can to preserve this facade,but they will do very little to

develop their inner value and personal growth.

So be yourself. Dont engage in a personal cover-up of areas that are

unpleasing in your life. When its tough, do it tough. In other words, face

reality and be adult in your responses to lifes challenges.

Self-respect and a clear conscience are powerful components of integrity

and are the basis for enriching your relationships with others.

Integrity means you do what you do because its right and not just

fashionable or politically correct. A life of principle, of not succumbing to

the seductive sirens of an easy morality,will always win the day. My

grandparents taught me that.

I am studying in a middleSchoolnow, my school is near my home. I love my

school, I can learn a lot in my school. The teachers teach me knowledge about

math, Chinese and others things about life, these are important to me, I become

mature. I make many friends here, the first day I come to this school, I get to

know my deskmate, in a few days, I get to know my classmate, now I have a lot of

father often communicates with foreign friends and is good at english. i can

advanced as that of my mothers. they often give me advice on my studies but

never interfere in them. they seldom force me to do what i dont like to. they

permit me to have different opinions. if something is good for me, they will

persuade me to do it as they want. many people of our age say that there is a

generation gap between their parents and them. however, it doesnt exist between

us.

My mother is a math teacher. she is very clever and good at teaching. she

can work out a problem within 10 minutes which would cost me 2 hours. i envy and

admire her. i want to be a math teacher like her.

Im lucky to have such enlightened parents. im lucky to have been brought

因为每一个人都想着获得侥幸，即无罪释放的机会，所以到最后往往都选择揭发——侥幸的机会事实上为零。我们总是想弄明白别人是怎么想的，妄图通过博弈获得个人最大的利益，哪怕置对方于死地亦在所不惜，然而在缺乏合作的情况下，在不能把双方作为一个整体看待的情况下，个人是没有最大利益的。

囚徒困境所反映出的深刻问题：个人理性有时会导致集体的非理性;聪明的人往往也会因为自己的聪明而作茧自缚。

只要站在自我的角度上，无论怎样决定，都有出现最坏情况的可能;只有站在整体的角度上，才有出现最佳方案的可能：每人都选择沉默，每人各领刑1年。如果没有合作，就只能通过无数次博弈才能达到纳什均衡的状态，接近帕累托最优，但成本巨大。

帕累托最优是指资源分配的一种理想状态。假定固有的一群人和可分配的资源，从一种分配状态到另一种状态的变化中，在没有使任何人境况变坏的前提下，使得至少一个人变得更好，这就是帕累托改进或帕累托最优。帕累托最优就是不可能再有更多的帕累托改进的余地;换句话说，帕累托改进是达到帕累托最优的路径和方法。帕累托最优是公平与效率的“理想王国”。

不难发现，理想状态的出现必以合作为前提，在单纯的博弈之中事实上是没有帕累托最优的，更何况在很多情形中，根本就没有无数次博弈的机会：重庆公交车坠江事件中的人们能重新来一次吗?——总是以自我利益为中心，最终必定损及自我利益。

如果我们能把彼此看成是一个整体进行合作，而不是把彼此看成是对手进行博弈，我们就能很轻易地走出囚徒困境。两人都坦白，因为证据充足，两人分别被判刑8年，刑期总和为16年;一人沉默一人坦白，其中一人无罪释放，另一人领刑10年，刑期总和10年;两个人都选择沉默，证据不足，每人领刑1年，刑期总和2年。

如果我们不总是想着博弈，而是想着合作;不总是把自己看成是集体之外的一个人，而是像尼采所说的——“伟大的自我意识不是作为个体，而是作为人类”那样，把自己看成是整个集体，那么我们既不需要纠结于对方是如何想，也不会面临10年或8年的刑期，我们不需要任何成本地拥抱了帕累托最优。

世上本没有深渊，但人们却总是喜欢作茧自缚，为自己挖掘一个深渊，然后把自己置于深渊的边缘——多么愚蠢的高明之举!

Recently, “clearyour plate” campaign is more and more popular in society, which advocates saving against wasting. The campaign draws our attention to wasting on campus.Some students are noticed to throw away a lot of food in the canteen. As is often the case, some lights are still on with nobody in classrooms. What’s more, many a student spends much money buying unnecessary items. As far as Iam concerned, it’s high time that we fought against wasting. Here’re my suggestions. Firstly, I think our school should carry out various activities to arouse students’ awareness of saving. Secondly, relevant rules and regulations are supposed to be made to punish those who waste things. Most importantly, we should form the habit of saving from now. It is everybody’s duty to save resources.

秋风渐至，树叶飘摇。

家门前有一棵老树，树的年轮一圈又一圈。它真的很老了，叶子也只剩寥寥几许，经不起风雨。于是，树便更显得萧瑟。

缺少了叶子的树，无异于没有灵魂的人啊。我这么想着，感叹着这树的残缺，不禁惋惜。一场又一场的雨，带走了树全部的绿意，它又因虫蛀而显得腐坏，我们都认为这棵树死了。

Dear Sarah,

I am terribly sorry to tell you that I am unable to attend your birthday

part next Thursday evening. That is owing to the fact that my younger brother

suddenly fell ill and was taken to a hospital this morning. I have to go there

immediately and take care of him. As told by the doctor in charge, it will take

around five days for him to recover and I have asked my boss for a leave.

人的能力是有限的，知识是无限的。许多现代新闻，除了看电视，道听途说，还有就是从书纸上得来的。

报纸、杂志……，在这个发展中的国家已十分普遍了。许多国家，国外的重要新闻，大多数是从报纸中来的。我曾看到过这样一则新闻：一个6岁儿童因喜欢玩耍，走到附近的河边，慢慢地靠近时，死神也近了。最后，这个小男孩淹死了。看了这则新闻，想必，你们大家有很多感触吧!一个6岁儿童，花儿还没有绽开，就已然凋谢了。报纸里面的内容，时常能够带给我们很多感触与深省。

我不但爱看报纸杂志，我也爱看许多“长征”之类的书。

我买了一本《光辉历程八十年》，里面讲了许许多多动人的故事。特别是当红军战士用自己的鲜血换回来的土地时，过草地时，他们没有粮食，只能吃树皮，吃皮带，吃……。现在我们所生活的社会里，不仅讲究吃好，穿好，用了，还什么东西都讲究名牌。与红军长征相比，我们现在该怎么做呢?我陷入了沉思。毕竟，我们也应该珍惜这来之不易的生活。

书带给我知识，带给我友谊，带给我忠告，带给我……

书——心灵的窗户!为你，为我，为大家而开，只是在于你用什么态度去看待，去追寻，去发现其中的奥秘。

从我记事开始，妈妈在我的印象中就是一个抠门的人，尤其是在用水上，可以说是抠出了新高度。不信?你看：妈妈正在厨房里忙碌。她将米用清水淘过两次，却不将淘米水倒掉，而是细心的用盆装好，然后将蔬菜放进淘米水里清洗。对此做法，我不屑一顾，妈妈却说，这样一举两得，蔬菜能洗得更干净，又节约用水。我心想：不就是抠点水费吗?还说得那么好听。更让我无法认同的是，妈妈再次利用后的淘米水仍然不会倒掉，而是用来涮碗，美其名曰淘米水去油污能力强。我的天哪，妈妈，你还能再抠些吗?

事实上真有：什么洗脸水用来洗脚，然后再收集起来冲厕所;很少用洗衣机，也是因为费水，就算用，也会想方设法的收集洗衣机排除的水来冲厕所，所以厕所里两只大桶从未空过;很少淋浴，因为费水，而且水无法再次利用;没喝完的开水拿来刷牙……总之，水没有反复使用，她是无法心安的。不仅她自己抠水，还要求我和爸爸也这样做。

一次，我实在无法忍受妈妈抠水的毛病，质问她：“妈，好歹你也是上班拿工资的，是缺了这点水费咋的?你咋就这么抠呢?”面对我的质问，妈妈先是不解，然后语重心长地对我说：“妈妈不缺这点水钱，也不是抠。只是妈妈觉得：水太珍贵了。我们国家还有许多城市许多地区缺水，那里的人没水洗澡洗衣，甚至做饭的水都没有，还要用车到千里之外去运，水对于他们来说，比金子珍贵，水就是他们的生命。所以，我们每节约一点水，他们就会多拥有一点生命之源，何乐而不为呢?”妈妈朴实的话语却深深地烙在我的脑海里。原来，妈妈不是抠，只是把节约用水的口号发挥到了极致。

抠水，是妈妈的美德。此后，也成为了我的美德。将来，我希望它能成为更多人的美德。

homework first. I usually go to bed at 10:00 p.m..

Every person needs sleep everyday. But with the high development of

society, most people have more and more things to do and have less time to

sleep. As a result, many people are lack of sleep. For a short time, they may

not realize the bad side of it, but it will bring something bad for them after a

long term. First of all, lack of sleep will do harm to people’s look. If they do

not sleep enough, they will get black eyes and bad skin easily, which will make

people look no so beautiful. Secondly, lack of sleep is bad for the spiritual

outlook. A person who lacking of sleep always looks tired and has no power to do

things. Last, not enough sleep for a long time will have bad influence of

thought. They always can’t be active in mind.

In an instant, and to the winter vacation, our winter vacation life rich

and colorful, I most love to my grandmother went to the winter vacation, my

grandma has a large yard, evergreen camphor, a colorful chrysanthemum, there is

清晨来了，新的一天向我招手，我眺望东方，太阳在一层薄云的笼罩下慢慢升起，贪婪的伸伸懒腰，带着他的老花镜又来站岗。

我是多么喜欢那美丽又迷人的天啊!早晨，天空睡醒了，它慢慢的有灰白色变成淡蓝色，脱下了它那层朦朦胧胧的纱衣，让人们看到它最清爽明亮的一面。太阳也从地平线上升起来，照亮了天空下了一切，也为天空洒下了一层金粉。到了中午，太阳爬到了天的正中央，为它做装饰。云朵在空中漂浮着，像一个个又松又软的棉花糖，真想咬一口!天好蓝好蓝，一直从我眼前蓝到了很远很远的地方，不知道天空的边缘是什么样的?我幻想着，忽然有几只燕子从空中飞过，打破了天空的沉静，为它平添一些生气。

比起中午的天空，我更喜欢傍晚时候的天。那时，天空从大方文静的女孩儿，变成的害羞的小姑娘，整张脸红红的，好像着了火。原本湛蓝的天空变了个样儿，就如戴着一层薄纱，把脸遮住了，雪白的云彩也在他的映照下变得火红。这时的天是不是更美了?那层红色的薄纱也许是织女特意为天空织的绸缎吧!

晚上，太阳下山了。天空就像个魔术师，又变了个摸样，换上了一件闪亮的黑色大衣。天变黑了，在天幕的遮掩下，一切都变黑了。家家户户都打开了灯，天就把小星星们放了出来，它们像闪闪发亮的巴士，点缀的这块大大的黑色幕布;像许许多多的萤火虫，照亮了黑夜;还像一个个小哨兵，在各自的家园外站岗。月亮也爬上了夜空，像一块银白色的玉盘，顿时，天空明亮的许多，变得更美了。可淘气的云朵又出来捣蛋了，遮住了美丽的月亮，天又变得朦胧了，显得无比宁静。
