I went to summer camp on vacation. On the first day, we went to a beautiful beach. It was a sunny and hot day, so we went swimming. The water was warm and we had great fun. I am a middle school student. I study many subjects at school. There are Chinese, maths, English, PE and so on. Among them, I like English best, because in class I can not only learn how to use the language but also know some foreign culture. Sometimes they sound interesting, for they are quite different from ours. With the teachers’ help, my English has improved a lot. It’s known that Beijing is going to host the 2008 Olympic Games. At that time, English must be the most useful language in our city. I have made up my mind to learn English well and be the top student in English learning.

The conception of money is different for the old and the young. The old

generation believes that money should be saved in case of the urgent situation,

while most young people think that money should be spent to realize its value.

When I was struggled about the different opinions, I saw the news report about a

man got back his money that he saved in the early 1990s, which was about 1000

RMB. People made their comment that this amount of money meant so much at that

time, which could buy a nice big house, while today it was just a big meal in

the restaurant. This news inspired me to make reasonable plan of money. The old

way to treat money is not suitable, because money will lose its value as time

goes by. I choose to spend part of money while saving another part of it.

January 1st is New Year‘s Day. It‘s a great day for all the people throughout the world. As the saying goes, A good beginning is half the battle. So, many people go all out to celebrate the important day. On that day, I went to the Book City with my classmates. We bought a lot of useful reference books and interesting story books. Thanksgiving which falls on the fourth Thursday of November, is one of the

biggest American holidays. This holiday started in the early 1600s after

settlers arrived in America. These people who came from Europe didnt know how

to survive in the wild new country. Luckily, they met some friendly American

Indians, who showed them how to hunt turkeys and grow corn. In the fall, after

the harvest, the settlers had a great feast. They invited the Indians to thank

them for their help. Today the tradition continues. On Thanksgiving Day,

Americans invite their friends over for a turkey dinner and give thanks for what

they have.

Last night ，I dreamed I became a very beautiful brid.I dreamed that I was in a forest. In tht forest，there were a lot of animals.Then，an old bird told us，“we have a very beautiful forest，we should therefore protect it from pollution.”All the animals agreed with him.

But the second day，people came into our forest.Many animals were caught.The people wanted to build house and parks in our forest.Many old trees were felled.And then suddenly，nothing was left standing.

I was so shocked and then I bursted out crying.I woke up at midnight.It was only a dream.

A hot day

Today is very hot,the heightest temperature reached to 40 degree.So I

stayed at home all the day.I recited english text this morning,after I finished

my homework,I prepared lunch for my families.I cooked egg-fried rice for

lunch,because there was eggs in the fridge only and I didnt want to go out

shopping for the hot weather.In the afternoon,I slept half of the day.It was

time to cook dinner when I wake up.It was a boring day,I hate hot weather.

Today I came back from a place named “he chuan”, it’s a good place. There has some nice view like chang jiang river. I came there in two days ago. Our aunt is here. We had a good time in there. 今天，为了下午的汇报课，紧张了整个上午。但中午得到了一个出乎意料的消息，管老师突然跟我打电话说她下午不来了。当时，不知道是忧是喜。喜的是没有老师的观察，会不会更放开、更自然一点儿。忧的是没有老师的督促和管理，小学生会是什么反应？是太过热情还是太过冷淡？怀着这样的焦虑，我走进了课堂

嗯，意料之中的一种，小学生们十分配合。由于是复习刚刚所学过的单元，不少人已经掌握得很好，外加是实习老师的授课，大家显得特别的积极和热情。

The tomb sweeping day is one of the traditional festivals in China. On April 5th, people start to visit their ancestors’ tombs. Generally speaking, people will bring the home-made food, some fake money and paper-made mansion to their ancestors. When they start to honour their ancestor, they will light up some candles and incense, put some flowers around the tombs.

The most important thing is to put the home-made food in front of the tombs. The food, also known as sacrifices, is usually made up with a chicken, a fish and some pork. It’s a symbol of the offspring’s respect to the ancestors. People believe that the forbears will share the food with them. The children dedicate the food and money to their forbears in order to show their love and caring. The young offspring will go down on their knees and pray for their ancestors. They can say their wishes in front of the tombs and the ancestors will make their dreams come true.

In some provinces of China, people use different activities to commemorate this day, for instance, spring-outing, swinging, tree planting and making special food. One special food is Ay Tsao rice balls. It looks like Tang-yuan, but its colour is green. Mix the ay tsao juice with the rice powder, then make it into small balls. The Ay Tsao rice ball is done. People believe that eating ay tsao rice balls can get rid of the bad luck and everything will go smoothly. Other activities such as spring outing, tree planting are the other ways to commemorate the forbears. For one thing, it is a sign that people should look into the future and embrace the hope; for another thing, we do hope our ancestor rest in peace.

It was cooler than yesterday. One of my father’s friends invited me to eat red bayberries. You must know it is unusual. Because we will climb the hill to eat red bayberries. There is no chance to eat red bayberries in the hill for the people who don’t live in Beijing. On the hill, you can breathe the fresh air, you can listen birds singing and you can eat red bayberries. It was enjoyable. It is said there are wild pigs in the hill. What a beautiful natural.

寒假的一天

It was a very busy evening, I was doing my homework at my home. My father

was writing a composition in the study room. My mother was interested in

Shanghai opera. She was watching a Shanghai opera contest. The apartment was

very quiet. Suddenly the light went out. It was a blackout, but I liked it very

much. It came and I didnt have to do my homework. We went to the living room

very slowly.
