Since I was very small, I was very shy in the public place, so I always

avoided giving performance in front of so many people. Though I tried hard to

get over it in school, I still felt uneasy in the public place. When I came to

the morning, they came to my home early, and they brought many presents for me.

I liked them very much. I invited them to the KTV, we sang songs, danced and

played games. About 5:30 p.m., we went my home. My mother had cooked a delicious

dinner for us. After dinner, we watched TV and at about 8:30 p.m. we ate

birthday cake. There were fifteen candles on my birthday cake. I made a silent

wish, and then I blew the candles out in one breath. I had an interesting

birthday party. We had a good time in the party. I was so grateful to what they

did for me.

For most western countries, Christmas Day is the biggest festival, and all

the people will have the long vacation, just as Spring Festival in China. With

the development of globalization, Christmas Day is celebrated by people around

Here is a difference between science and technology.Science is a method of

answering theoretical questions; technology is a method of solving practical

problems. Science has to do with discovering the facts and relationships between

observable phenomena in nature and with establishing theories that serve to

organize these facts and relationships; technology has to do with

tools,techniques, and procedures for implementing the findings of science.

Another distinction between science and technology has to do with the

progress in each. Progress in science excludes the human factor. Scientists, who

seek to comprehend the universe and know the truth with the highest degree of

accuracy and certainty, cannot pay heed to their own or other peoples likes or

dislikes, or to popular ideas about the fitness of things. What scientists

discover may shock or anger people--as did Darwins theory of evolution. But

even an unpleasant truth is more than likely to be useful; besides, we have the

option of refusing to believe it! But hardly so with technology;we do not have

the option of refusing to hear the sonic boom produced by a supersonic

aircraft-flying overhead; we do not have the option of refusing to breathe

polluted air. Unlike science, progress in technology must be our slave and not

the reverse. The legitimate purpose of technology is to serve peopie--people in

general, not merely some people; and future generations, not merely those who

presently wish to gain advantage for themselves.

We are all familiar with the abuses of technology. Many people blame

technology itself for widespread pollution, resource depletion and even social

decay in general--so much so that the promise of technology is obscured. That

promise is a cleaner and healthier world. If wise applications of science and

technology do not lead to a better world, what else will?

端午，我就想起一首儿歌“五月五，是端阳。插艾叶，带香囊。吃粽子，撒白糖。龙舟下水喜洋洋。”一曲简单的儿歌就道出我国两千多年的传统节日——端午。一到端午这一天全国各地的人们都要吃粽子，赛龙舟，为什么要吃粽子赛龙舟呢，还要从屈原说起，在屈原多年流亡的同时，楚国的形势愈益危急。到顷襄王二十一年，秦将白起攻破楚都郢，预示着楚国前途的危机。

次年，秦军又进一步深入。屈原眼看自己一度兴旺的国家已经无望，也曾考虑过出走他国，但最终还是爱恋故土，于悲愤交加之中，自沉于汨罗江，殉了自己的理想。楚国百姓哀痛异常，纷纷划船追赶拯救。他们争先恐后，追至洞庭湖时不见踪迹。之后每年五月五日划龙舟以纪念。借划龙舟驱散江中之鱼，以免鱼吃掉屈原的身体。有位渔夫拿出为屈原准备的饭团、鸡蛋等食物，“扑通、扑通”地丢进江里，说是让鱼龙虾蟹吃饱了，就不会去咬屈大夫的身体了。人们见后纷纷仿效。一位老医师则拿来一坛雄黄酒倒进江里，说是要药晕蛟龙水兽，以免伤害屈大夫。后来为怕饭团为蛟龙所食，人们想出用楝树叶包饭，外缠彩丝，发展成今天的棕子。

在我的家乡也一样，每到这一天，家家户户都忙得不亦乐乎，大家都在为过节准备。端午的前两天，就看到奶奶，去市场买粽叶，糯米，回到家以后，奶奶先将粽叶放到一个盆子里，用水浸泡，使它变柔软，然后将糯米洗净，用水浸泡，经过一段时间的浸泡后，奶奶开始包粽子了，首先先拿起一片粽叶，将它卷成一个椎体，然后再将糯米填到这个椎体李，填满以后，用其余的粽叶将它紧紧的裹住，接着用麻线将它困起来，奶奶就像这样一个一个的包着，不一会，一串粽子就包好了。终于到了端午这一天，妈妈一早就出去买菜了，奶奶从冰箱里取出之前包好的粽子，放到锅里开始煮，妈妈不久也回来了，这时妈妈拿出在市场买的艾叶，将它挂在门上面，然后准备菜肴。

经过了一天的准备，我们的晚餐开始了，我们一家人围坐在饭桌前，为先人屈原祈祷后开始用餐，这是电视里也在播放赛龙舟的画面，我不由得想起屈原，希望他能听到我们的祈祷，不会刚到寂寞。端午是我们中国人两千多年的传统节日，他的延续不仅是龙的节日，还是一种精神的延续。

英语念起来干枯无聊，我偶尔往前面望去，有一排同学没事可做，竟然搞起敢死队的工作——在英语老师的眼皮子底下看漫画书，晕。更为巧合的是――竟然都是坐在一排的人！怀疑是不是串通好了的呢。

敢死队员1号：小心翼翼型

这位队员一边看着书，一边虎视耽耽地望着老师。瞧，他刚翻一页，就抬头看看老师，接着又翻一页，然后有抬头望望老师，这样重复循环，真不知道他把内容看进去没有。看见老师的目光没有扫向他，他赶紧抓住机会连翻几页，然后突然抬头，盯着老师。

敢死队员2号：动作怪怪型

这位队员可有点怪了，看着书，一会儿掏掏鼻子，一会儿打打哈欠，一会儿摸摸耳朵，一副惟恐天下不乱的样子，好像不让老师发现他的举动就不甘心似的，真是个怪人。

敢死队员3、4号：谈天说地型

这两位同学有些不把老师放在眼里了，边看书边聊天。我隐隐约约听见他们说冒险岛OL，说漫画内容，说小说，说娱乐咨询，就连老师和同学的目光扫向他们，也无济于事。

敢死队员5号：边学边看型

这位同学好像有些明白学习的重要性，看了几分钟的书，马上立起来听老师的讲课。课上一半时，老师为了扫查班上的敢死队，把同学们一个叫起一个问问题。这下可让这群敢死队员们开始惶恐不安了，他们连书都顾不着看呢。而这位队员呢，看一会儿就学学，这一招算是对他的MISS了。

敢死队员6号：理直气壮型

这位同学可是班上的霸王级分子了（注：别乱想，不是我啊），他可是一人之下，几十人之上，谁敢对他不敬，他的落雷马上就落在你头上了，（注：我已经欠了他3顿打了，要不是我能帮他弄电脑作业，我早就魂飞天了）因此每人敢告发他。不知是她的好运还是老师放水，他这样看了一堂课，竟然都没半点被批评，真太不公平了！！

谁知道，老师从天而降，为了抓住敢死分子，居然来个背后突袭，到所有座位后边地毯式搜索。5名敢死队员唰地一声，在同一时间内放下书，装起乖乖。只有敢死队员6号稳如泰山，而老师的目光明明瞄准了他，可老师却好像在放水一样，竟纵容他在自己眼皮子底下活动，真气死人了！而其他5位的敢死队员便无机可乘，只好乖乖停课，唯独6号占了便宜。

在我的家乡都匀，有一条风景优美且具有诗情画意的长河——剑江河。

剑江河既像母亲一样哺育着我们，又像一条巨龙穿城而过，一直守护着我们。剑江河是一条清澈见底的长河，鸟儿在枝头为它歌唱，蝴蝶在半空为它舞蹈，又撒下点点花粉为它化上了淡雅的妆。有时候透过密密的树叶，太阳筛下一束束金光，照在这些美丽而可爱的蝴蝶身上，照在慈祥的剑江河身上，一直照到河底光滑的石头上。

不用说我是多么喜欢剑江河了，我很想知道它哪来这么多耀眼的光辉？哦！原来是山谷给的，是花草树木给的，是大自然给予它的。在都匀市发生干旱时，在人们万分焦渴时，剑江河挺身而出，它为人们解难，为人们做出了巨大的贡献。

剑江河也是都匀市的景区之一，是个旅游的好去处。

当夜幕降临时，剑江河四周灯光闪烁，一道道金光。白光。红光照在那美丽的剑江河身上，那一道道光仿佛是一位化妆师为它化上了浓妆。使得它更加年轻更加绚丽多彩了，真是美不胜收啊！

上课了，我把月饼拿出来，我看看同学的，又看看自己的，我们的月饼有的小巧玲珑、有的很华丽、有的很别致。老师让我们看看盒子，我的盒子上写的是“月满家满”几个字。老师说“可以打开盒子了”。我打开盒子，透过那层塑料纸，我看见我的月饼上有刻花，花蕊上写着一个“果”字，旁边有许多花瓣簇拥着。老师说“可以拆开闻一下，我一打开袋子，一股香气扑面而来。可以品尝了，先小口小口的吃，然后大口大口的吃，却把我的小嘴吃得像苹果那么大，又过了一会儿我的嘴又变了。

I like dogs, because they are man’s good friends. They can do many helpful thingsto us, such as guarding our houses, greeting guests, helping the police, and soon.
