为了发扬“尊师重教”的优良传统，提高教师地位，1985年1月21日，在第六届全国人大常委会第九次会议上正式通过国务院关于建立老师节的议案，确定每年9月10日为中国的教师节。从此以后，老师便有了自己的节日。

进入午门，我们首先看到的就是内金水河，它自西向东蜿蜒流过太和门广场，上边还有五座汉白玉石桥，就是内金水桥了。内金水河的作用不仅是故宫中排水的主要通道，也是建筑和灭火的主要水源，同时还起到了点缀景观的作用，使太和门广场在雄浑中不失秀美。

我们面前就是太和殿了，它和中和殿还有保和殿是建立在一个土字型的三层台基上，台基南北长230米，高8.13米，在四周围还建有一些楼阁，其实就是清朝内务府所管辖的库房。太和殿是故宫中最高最大的建筑，面积有2377平方米，通高35.05米，面阔11间，进深5间。在太和殿的屋顶正脊上还有一个高3.36米的大吻，往下还有11个垂脊兽，异兽的数量越多，代表了殿宇等级越高。

people and understand them and help them,we are missing the most essential part

Qu Yuan , an honest minister who is said to have committed suicide by

drowning himself in a river. Qu was a minister of the State of Chu situated in

present-day Hunan and Hubei provinces, during theWarring States

Period(475-221BC)(战国时期).

He was upright, loyal and highly esteemed for his wise counsel that brought

peace and prosperity to the state.

However, when a dishonest and corrupt prince vilified Qu, he was disgraced

and dismissed from office.

Realizing that the country was now in the hands of evil and corrupt

officials, Qu grabbed a large stone and leapt into the Miluo River on the fifth

day of the fifth month. Nearby fishermen rushed over to try and save him but

were unable to even recover his body.

Thereafter, the state declined and was eventually conquered by the State of

Qin.

There are still many problems of environmental protection in recent years.

One of the most serious problems is the serious pollution of air, water and

At the end of the Zhou Dynasty, the area we now know as China had fallen

into a state of fragmentation and conflict. While the Zhou dynasty had ruled for

several centuries, several other states, originally feudal domains, tried to

carve out their own kingdoms. The state of Qin would eventually emerge the

victor and unify all of China under one rule for the first time in history.

Qu Yuan served as minister to the Zhou Emperor. A wise and articulate man,

he was loved by the common people. He did much to fight against the rampant

corruption that plagued the court-- thereby earning the envy and fear of other

officials. Therefore, when he urged the emperor to avoid conflict with the Qin

Kingdom, the officials pressured the Emperor to have him removed from service.

In exile, he traveled, taught and wrote for several years. Hearing that the Zhou

had been defeated by the Qin, he fell into despair and threw himself into the

Milou River. His last poem reads:

Many a heavy sigh I have in my despair,Grieving that I was born in such an

unlucky time.I yoked a team of jade dragons to a phoenix chariot,And waited for

the wind to come,to sour up on my journey

As he was so loved by the people, fishermen rushed out in long boats,

beating drums to scare the fish away, and throwing zong zi into the water to

feed braver fish so that they would not eat Qu Yuans body.

The Modern Dragon Boat Festival started from that time to this day, people

commemorated Qu Yuan through Dragon Boat Races, eating zong zi, and several

other activities, on the anniversary of his death: the fifth day of the fifth

lunar month.

Dragon Boat races are the most exciting part of the festival, drawing

crowds of spectators. Dragon Boats are generally brightly painted and decorated

canoes. Ranging anywhere from 40 to 100 feet in length, their heads are shaped

like open-mouthed dragons, while the sterns end with a scaly tail. Depending on

the length, up to 80 rowers can power the boat. A drummer and flag-catcher stand

at the front of the boat. Before a dragon boat enters competition, it must be

"brought to life" by painting the eyes in a sacred ceremony. Races can have any

number of boats competing, with the winner being the first team to grab a flag

at the end of the course. Annual races take place all over China, Hong Kong,

Macao, Taiwan, and other overseas Chinese communities.

I spent this holiday very quick, on the 1st May, we went to the Zoo, there were crowded there, so many travelers coming from all over the country to have some fun during the holidays.On 2nd May, I visited my relatives with my parents, we had a great lunch together, the resturant were crowded as well.On 3rd May, we went to shopping in the mall, after the shopping we went to watch a new movie. Christmas Miracles

Christmas is a time for miracles.It is also a time when the dull things of daily life and the forecast of human hature gives way to a spiritual awakening.Allow me to share with you one truly wonder of Christmas.

Our miracle story comes from an incident that occurred in Flanders， Belgium， at the dawn of World War I. On December 24th ，1914， German and English troops faced each other from the relative safety of their ditches across which no mans land lying between them. Suddenly， the silence was broken， not by gunfire， but by the strains of Silent Night arising from the German position. It wasnt long before the English troops responded with a Yuletide hymn of their own. Then an amazing sight surprised the eyes of the English soldiers. A German soldier holding a small tree arranged with lighted candles began to walk across the land toward the English lines. This miraculous scene occasioned the declaration of a truce followed by English and German troops greeting one another， exchanging small gifts and singing songs of Christmas. Word of this incredible phenomenon reached the High Command of both sides.

On Christmas Day， both armies moved from their positions to engage in the killing of war at other battlefields. However， on Christmas Eve 1914 on a field in Flanders， there was Peace on Earth.

The day and season perpetuate a miraculous， historical event as an annual presence that challenges an often rough， cruel， and egotistical creature -- the human being -- to become open and amenable to their Creators vision. The great miracle of Christmas continues in the performance of humane acts， moral honesty， and in the spiritual awareness of millions struggling to lead a life of grace.

Last term, I started to like comic, pop music. Lots of superstars are my

idols. Such as Conan, Jay, Syusuke and so on. But my mum dislikes them. She

wants me to study diligently. I have such kind of experience. One day, when I

was reading Harry potter with great interest. My mum shouted, "This is a

fantastic book, you should do your homework" How depressed I was at that time.

So, I always feel uncomfortable when staying with my mum. I think my mum is too

serious and too strict with me, and she seldom gives me freedom.

Today, lots of parents hope their children become talent, if we study

without any rest, they will be happy. My mum always talks to me,"Its time to

learn English, its time to read Chinese text book." Our high score will be a

great satisfaction to our parents. If we lose the high score in our single

examination, they will be angry. Besides this, they are angry at our choices in

comic, in music and even our way of speech. Mum, Dad, Do you know, they are not

bad things, and they are our happiness.

If we plan to do something of ourselves, we had better try our parents

understand us. If our parents see that we have high sense of responsibility,

they will certainly give us the right to do what we want to do.

One day a young man was standing in the middle of the town proclaiming that

he had the most beautiful heart in the whole valley. A large crowd gathered and

they all admired his heart for it was perfect. There was not a mark or a flaw in

it. Yes, they all agreed it truly was the most beautiful heart they had ever

seen. The young man was very proud and boasted more loudly about his beautiful

heart.

Suddenly, an old man appeared at the front of the crowd and said, "Why your

heart is not nearly as beautiful as mine." The crowd and the young man looked at

the old mans heart. It was beating strongly, but full of scars, it had places

where pieces had been removed and other pieces put in, but they didnt fit quite

right and there were several jagged edges. In fact, in some places there were

deep gouges where whole pieces were missing.

The people stared — how can he say his heart is more beautiful, they

thought? The young man looked at the old mans heart and saw its state and

laughed. "You must be joking," he said. "Compare your heart with mine, mine is

perfect and yours is a mess of scars and tears."

"Yes," said the old man, "Yours is perfect looking but I would never trade

with you. You see, every scar represents a person to whom I have given my love —

I tear out a piece of my heart and give it to them, and often they give me a

piece of their heart which fits into the empty place in my heart, but because

the pieces arent exact, I have some rough edges, which I cherish, because they

remind me of the love we shared. Sometimes I have given pieces of my heart away,

and the other person hasnt returned a piece of his heart to me. These are the

empty gouges — giving love is taking a chance. Although these gouges are

painful, they stay open, reminding me of the love I have for these people too,

and I hope someday they may return and fill the space in my heart. So now do you

see what true beauty is? "

The young man stood silently with tears running down his cheeks. He walked

up to the old man, reached into his perfect young and beautiful heart, and

ripped a piece out. He offered it to the old man with trembling hands.

The old man took his offering, placed it in his heart and then took a piece

from his old scarred heart and placed it in the wound in the young mans heart.

It fit, but not perfectly, as there were some jagged edges. The young man looked

at his heart, not perfect anymore but more beautiful than ever, since love from

the old mans heart flowed into his. They embraced and walked away side by

side.
