Today， pollution has become a serious problem to us. It means that the air， seas， rivers and land are polluted by waste or poisonous things. It does harm not only to human beings but also to animals (It does harm to animals， as well as human beings.)。

We cannot have fresh air because many factories have the poisonous smoke sent into the air. Beautiful parks are made dirty by plastic tins and bags. Fish die from the polluted water. It is said that strange diseases have appeared in some places because of pollution.

I hope scientists can find ways to solve the serious problem. We are looking forward to seeing the clear sky， clean rivers and beautiful parks again.

I am a child of the suns mother, my name is called the earth. I used to live happy, wake up in the morning, light rain "hua" to give me a bath; People planted many trees and flowers in my body, to get dolled up on me, then, clean running around the sun mother I, let the sun mother look at my new skirt. 可是现在，人类也不像太阳妈妈说的那么好了。他们在我身上乱扔垃圾，把我搞得浑身脏兮兮的，人类的“车”还爱排放尾气，雨下下来的全是脏水，把我越洗越脏;人们还爱乱砍伐树木花草，破坏路灯，把他们给我的衣服也搞得的烂烂的，脏脏的……太阳妈妈劝我说：“你还是摆脱那些人类吧!”可是好心的我又不忍心丢下他们。因为这件事让我每天吃不好饭，睡不好觉，所以，我就生病了，经常发洪水、地震……还有人说2012年可能是我的末日。人们在这些灾难中，意识到了这都是他们破坏我而造成的，于是他们又开始关心我，爱护我了!我相信以后的日子里，我一定会变得更加美丽、漂亮的!

In the past, there have been many endangered animals. Now they are extinct. Does it matter? Has our environment been affected by their absence? Has the quality of our own life been changed? The answer to these questions is "Yes." It does matter if we destroy an endangered species habitat to develop more farmland, housing or industrial parks. There is a delicate balance of nature. If one small part is removed, it will affect all the other parts. For example, if certain trees are cut down, bats will have no place to roost. If they cannot roost, they cannot breed. If there are no bats, there will be no animal, or bird to eat certain insects that plague our crops.Our environment has been affected by the absence of certain animals. How Freshmen Adapt to the New Environment?

When freshmen enter the university at the first time they have to deal with all kinds of affairs independently.Whether a new student can understand and become familiar with the environment of the campus rapidly will determine whether he can live and study freely.

Firstly,the freshmen should be familiar with layout of the campus as soon as possible.As soon as freshmen arrange properly their luggage after entering the university,they should familiarise themselves with every location in the campus at once.In this way,they will save more time and get along smoother than others when they go through various kinds of formalities and solve various kinds of problems.

Secondly,freshmen should consult seniors more. It is the swiftest method to ask those familiar with the environment of the campus.

Finally,holding certain positions in the class can also help freshmen to adapt to their life on campus.
