The Lantern Festival falls on the 15th day of the 1st lunar month, usually

in February or March in the Gregorian calendar. As early as the Western Han

Dynasty (206 BC-AD 25), it had become a festival with great significance.

This days important activity is watching lanterns. Throughout the Han

Dynasty (206 BC-AD 220), Buddhism flourished in China. One emperor heard that

Buddhist monks would watch sarira, or remains from the cremation of Buddhas

body, and light lanterns to worship Buddha on the 15th day of the 1st lunar

month, so he ordered to light lanterns in the imperial palace and temples to

show respect to Buddha on this day. Later, the Buddhist rite developed into a

grand festival among common people and its influence expanded from the Central

Plains to the whole of China.

Till today, the lantern festival is still held each year around the

country. Lanterns of various shapes and sizes are hung in the streets,

attracting countless visitors. Children will hold self-made or bought lanterns

to stroll with on the streets, extremely excited. "Guessing lantern riddles"is

an essential part of the Festival.

Lantern owners write riddles on a piece of paper and post them on the

lanterns. If visitors have solutions to the riddles, they can pull the paper out

and go to the lantern owners to check their answer. If they are right, they will

get a little gift. The activity emerged during peoples enjoyment of lanterns in

the Song Dynasty (960-1279). As riddle guessing is interesting and full of

wisdom, it has become popular among all social strata.

People will eat yuanxiao, or rice dumplings, on this day, so it is also

called the "Yuanxiao Festival."Yuanxiao also has another name, tangyuan. It is

small dumpling balls made of glutinous rice flour with rose petals, sesame, bean

paste, jujube paste, walnut meat, dried fruit, sugar and edible oil as filling.

Tangyuan can be boiled, fried or steamed. It tastes sweet and delicious. What’s

more, tangyuan in Chinese has a similar pronunciation with "tuanyuan”, meaning

reunion. So people eat them to denote union, harmony and happiness for the

family.

In the daytime of the Festival, performances such as a dragon lantern

dance, a lion dance, a land boat dance, a yangge dance, walking on stilts and

beating drums while dancing will be staged. On the night, except for magnificent

lanterns, fireworks form a beautiful scene. Most families spare some fireworks

from the Spring Festival and let them off in the Lantern Festival. Some local

governments will even organize a fireworks party. On the night when the first

full moon enters the New Year, people become really intoxicated by the imposing

fireworks and bright moon in the sky.

周五下午，我和崔悦扬一起去小区池塘边砸冰，因为天气严寒，水都结冰了，所以池塘边有很多小孩在砸冰，于是我和崔悦扬一起加入了砸冰的队伍里。

开始，我和崔悦扬一起观察他们是怎样砸冰的，他们先在一个点砸啊砸，直到把冰砸了一个小洞，再向旁边扩大。我觉的这个办法很聪明，因为这可以毫不费力的就把冰砸碎。

看完之后，我们开始找工具，我找到了一个又壮又直的竹子，他找到了一个又细又弯的树枝。

然后，我们开始砸冰了，我砸了一会发现，虽然他的树枝比我细，但是他一砸一个洞，我仔细观察，发现原来崔悦扬的树枝是弯的，用的是正锋，相反，我的竹是直的，用的是侧锋，所以，他一砸一个洞。

于是，我在附近找了找，可是我连一根树枝都没有找到，更别说弯的树枝了，我只找继续用直的竹子，但我还是很开心!

China has many traditional festivals among the year. But I like Mid-Autumn Festival the most. It means harvest, because it is celebrated in the harvest season. And it is the time for famers to express their thanks for harvest. In addtion, it’s the day for reunion. Some people call it Tuanyuanjie. The people work or study far away from home will come back to get-together with their families. They will eat a big meal and mooncake at that time. I hate parting but love reunion. So Mid-Autumn Day is my favorite festival.

as we know, our country suffered heavy snow last spring festival. everything was covered with heavy snow. it made the buses, trains and planes stop. millions of people couldnt go home. many people suffered trouble. there was no food, water or light in some places. our government called on people to fight against heavy snow. as a student, i think we should learn from those heroes. we must study hard at school. we should learn all kinds of knowledge to make our motherland stronger, better and richer.

Almost every child will complain about their parents sometimes. It is

现在有许许多多的废旧电池，而且随处可见。现在在马路旁或草丛里都可以找到废旧电池，所以我决定要收集废旧电池。在府南河那里，有一个工人，他每天都要收集许多废旧电池，但是因为他没有把那些废旧电池及时处理，那些废旧电池就对环境造成了很大的伤害。所以我决定收集到废旧电池以后，就马上处理掉，不会像那个工人一样。现在我已经收集到许多废旧电池了，但是仅仅只有我收集废旧电池是不够的，全世界的人都应该行动起来，将我们的地球变得更美丽!

二、让我们多植树，多种花!

现在地球上的树木已经不多了，以前，地球上有成千上万种树，现在只有几十种或几百种了;以前，美丽的花儿到处可见，可现在只能在植物园里看到这些花了;如果地球上少了一分花树，那我们生存的机会就少了一分。所以我们一定要保护花草树木，不要伤害它们。而且还要多植树，多参加一些与植树有关的活动，有空的时候就可以种花或种草，这样才能为我们的地球增添一片绿，增添一片色彩!

三、我们不能乱扔垃圾!

现在马路上安装了许多漂亮的垃圾箱，但是有些人却偏要乱扔垃圾，甚至有的人从垃圾箱面前走过，但却对垃圾箱视而不见，这种事情在我们生活中常常发生。因此，我决定今后再也不乱扔垃圾了，而且看见别人乱扔垃圾，就一定要去制止他们。让我们尽一份力量，使地球更加清洁、美丽。

人类只有一个地球，我要做一名环保小卫士，用我的行为来做个榜样，提醒身边的每一个人不要破坏环境。爱护环境，人人有责!

太阳烤着大地，整个城市就像一个大火炉一样，而我就像大火炉里沸腾的一碗水，浑身热的难受。终于我忍受不了了，在小卖店里买了一根冰棍解解暑，一边吃一边等着公共汽车。

等了一会儿车来了，我找了个座位坐了下来，轻闭着眼睛开始享受这漫长的“坐车时光”。啊!坐在凉爽的空调车里，靠在椅背上吃着冰凉的冰棍儿，一切是多么的美好啊!冰棍吃完了车上又没有垃圾桶，于是我见没有人注意到我，偷偷地打开窗户，窗外的热气扑面而来，使我心中一阵烦闷，只想快点儿把垃圾扔出去。

我把雪糕袋往外使劲一扔，刚要把窗户关上，袋子却又风吹了回来，掉在我的衣服上，袋子里余下的雪糕水洒了我一身，“呼”的一下，风又把雪糕袋吹了起来，“啪”的一声，袋子掉在了地上，这下引起了别人的注意，他们不约而同的看向我，又看看开着的窗户和地上的雪糕袋开始讨论着，我如坐针毡，感觉浑身被刺扎了一般，热乎乎的。

虽然坐在位置上，可是我越想越气，他们难道在说我的不是吗?这个袋子今天扔不出去了吗?我气得火冒三丈，今天我非得把你扔出去!我拿着袋子正要扔出去，这一幕却进入我的眼帘：前排的小妹妹手上拿着一张脏兮兮的纸巾，安静的坐在那里，一点儿也不感觉纸巾脏。我的心不知被什么打了一下：这个小妹妹都不嫌脏，我又有什么好嫌弃的呢?

我静静的坐在那里到站了，下了车，把垃圾扔进了路边的垃圾桶，心里有一种说不出的喜悦，全身舒畅不已，过路的行人纷纷偷来赞许的目光。

城市美化靠大家，爱护环境真的能让生活变得更加美好!

每当我打开了记忆的窗帘，一幅幅温馨的画面便浮现在我的眼前，仿佛是昨天刚发生的事情：第一次学自行车，摔倒几次，刚想放弃的时候，一个洪亮又有力的声音在我耳边响起：“加油，你能成功的，爸爸相信你!”在我考试成绩不理想时，一个温柔的声音响了起来：“努力，争取下次考好，妈妈不会因为这一两次而骂你!”………

Here is a difference between science and technology.Science is a method of

answering theoretical questions; technology is a method of solving practical

problems. Science has to do with discovering the facts and relationships between

observable phenomena in nature and with establishing theories that serve to

organize these facts and relationships; technology has to do with

tools,techniques, and procedures for implementing the findings of science.

Another distinction between science and technology has to do with the

progress in each. Progress in science excludes the human factor. Scientists, who

seek to comprehend the universe and know the truth with the highest degree of

accuracy and certainty, cannot pay heed to their own or other peoples likes or

dislikes, or to popular ideas about the fitness of things. What scientists

discover may shock or anger people--as did Darwins theory of evolution. But

even an unpleasant truth is more than likely to be useful; besides, we have the

option of refusing to believe it! But hardly so with technology;we do not have

the option of refusing to hear the sonic boom produced by a supersonic

aircraft-flying overhead; we do not have the option of refusing to breathe

polluted air. Unlike science, progress in technology must be our slave and not

the reverse. The legitimate purpose of technology is to serve peopie--people in

general, not merely some people; and future generations, not merely those who

presently wish to gain advantage for themselves.

We are all familiar with the abuses of technology. Many people blame

technology itself for widespread pollution, resource depletion and even social

decay in general--so much so that the promise of technology is obscured. That

promise is a cleaner and healthier world. If wise applications of science and

technology do not lead to a better world, what else will?

When looking at each TV series, I the whole people into that scene, the joys and sorrows of the dramatis personae, as if I can be felt, act as if I was born and has not cut off the fate. Gradually, I produced in acting in emotion, when nobody in the home, I will bring my watch TV, play the characters in the play.

In later, I took out a notebook, writers, the title and the names of the characters, according to their assigned to play. Until now, I have made up a dozen plot, I had remembered every plot, because that is my idea, I want to store them in your mind forever.

每个人都有自己的梦想职业，而每个人的梦想都不同，有的想当科学家，有的想当设计师，而我呢?我想当的是演员。

每当看着一部部电视剧时，我整个人都投入到了那部戏中，剧中人的喜怒哀乐，我仿佛都能感受得到，好象我天生就和演戏有着不可切断的缘分。渐渐地，我对演戏产生了情感，每当家里没人时，我就把我所看的电视剧拿来改编，自己扮演着剧中的各个角色。

我走出门外，踏上了这雪白的地毯，踩上去发出“咯吱咯吱”的响声，这样美妙的音乐，一定是雪精灵弹奏出来的美妙音符吧?我一步一步地走在雪地上，漫天飞扬的小雪花好似洁白的鹅毛，又好似一只只美丽的白蝴蝶，围绕在我的身边。

天上的雪，也许是因为天使摇动了那天空中高大纯洁的玉树，才使这洁白的小雪花飘飘洒洒地落了下来。我抬起自己的手，接住了几片小雪花，细细地看，我发现了它那精致的六边形身躯。这么美丽的雪景，一定是大自然为了给世间洗去污垢，送给人类的洗礼吧!

我继续走着，近处，几棵苍松已经盖上了厚厚的雪层，但是，这些劲老的苍松似乎不知道什么是寒冷，依然挺着它们那如直线杆一般青翠笔直的身躯。远处，几个小脸红扑扑的孩子穿着厚厚的棉袄在那儿打雪仗，看他们玩儿得不亦乐乎样子真惹人喜爱。看那儿，还有几个小朋友正在堆雪人呢!看他们一起堆起来的雪人，真的如活灵活现、惟妙惟肖的雪宝宝，看起来可爱极了!令人爱不释手!

雪停了，但是我还沉思在这雪之中。雪悄悄地来了，却也悄悄的走了，它为我们洗去了世间的污垢，却无怨无悔，默默无闻。不像雨，来的时候动静很大。望着眼前这如诗如画的景象，我经不住感叹道：“我喜欢你!洁白而又朴实的雪!”

I want to set up a flower shop. It’s my ideal work. I think flower is the

most beautiful gifts given by nature. And flower is a good way to express one’s

affection. Nowadays, sending flowers is more and more popular, to parents,

friends, teachers and spouse. So I think this business must be good. Moreover, I

like flowers very much and I am familiar various flowers. I will choose

different flowers for different people or preference. The most important is that

I want to transmit love and happiness by flowers.

Our school had to give-away activity for the poor kids.Students gave away their pocket money,toys,used books and stationery to kids in need. This activity helped kids out of trouble.And it passed on kindness to others.Helping others made me happy.This activity can help kidslifes better. I hope you can help people in need.

Home is the warmest place in the world and a sweet home makes every family

member feel happy and comfortable. So, how to make a home sweet?

First, respecting and understanding each other is the key to make a home

sweet, especially living in a big family. Everyone in the family has his or her

own opinion and has different way to deal with the matters, and it is impossible

to make family members see eye to eye with each other. Therefore, when we are

meeting different opinions, we need to give our respect and understanding to

each other.

Second, communication is another important factor to make a sweet home.

Communicating with family members is a good for us to know each other and

strengthen the relationship. Thus, no matter where we are, keeping in contact

with each other is definitely important.

Finally, humor can add more sweet to our home. Humor is a good way to

adjust the atmosphere in a family and close the relationship between family

members. Hence, if there is going to have a quarrel between family members, try

to use your humor to solve it in advance.
