My hometown Nanchang, capital of Jiangxi Province, stands on the eastern bank of the Gan River. An ancient city, its origins lie in the Han Dynasty over 2,000 years ago. In the late 1920s Carl Crow described it as a conservative town, surrounded by a high wall which had remained impenetrable even the Taipings, protected by the city god---the Universal Lord of Happiness; although Crow’s book came out in a fifth and thoroughly revised edition in 1933 there is no reference to the uprising or the activities in the soviets.

Modern Nanchang is a pleasant and prosperous city with a growing industry, places for recreation, and many historical sites connected with the Nanchang Uprising. Historical sites include the Plum Fairy Temple, which dates bark to the western Han Dynasty, and the Hundred Flower Islet, which is in the Bayi Park and dates back to the Song Dynasty.

伴着瓜果的飘香，带着凉爽的风儿，领着晴朗的天空，秋姑娘在人们的盼望中悄悄地来了。

一回到家乡，就闻到桔子的幽香，桂花的飘香。走到后院，一股金桔的香味扑鼻而来，是那么诱人，吸引着我情不自禁地摘下一颗，丢进嘴里，那么甜，那么香……转头，只见桂花正争先恐后地盛开着，你推推我，我挤挤你，好不活泼热闹。桂花树矮矮的，可花却那么密，那么香，沁入我的心扉，我流连忘返。

金黄的杉柏树吸引着我的眼球，参天的躯干也洋溢着秋的味道，枝叶金黄金黄的。他笔直的站在那里，多年来一直像个老朋友一样，为回家的我接风洗尘。我仿佛又看到了秋千在那里荡漾，蝴蝶在枝叶中跳舞。树下，子兰花又绿了，不知能否再现原来的婀娜多姿。

听，候鸟已成群结队地南迁了，叽叽喳喳，给正为丰收而喜悦的人们带来优美的旋律。板栗正沙沙地往下掉，乡亲们都到草丛里去翻找，热闹极了。

秋风吹过，就像母亲的手抚摸着我的头。在这丰收的季节，父亲站在远处投来鼓励的目光。这一切，无一不让我感到温暖，使我充满干劲。

家乡的秋天，带来飘香的瓜果；家乡的秋天，奏着自然之乐。

不知不觉夏天过去，秋天已经来了。

秋天是收获的季节。家乡的市场上摆满了成熟的水果：西瓜、苹果、梨、葡萄等等，那一个个、一颗颗、一串串饱满的果实真是让人越看越爱、垂涎三尺。望着这丰收的景象，人们的脸上露出了欢快的笑容。街道两旁的柳树、杨树的叶子都变黄了，只有枫树的叶子变化最多：有绿色的、黄色的、红色的，也有黄中透红的，妈妈说过几天就没有绿色的了，就全是红的了，那时候是枫树最美的时候。树叶随着秋风的吹过纷纷落下，铺满了地面。有的叶子还会随着微风的吹过慢慢地在空中旋转，半天才落下。大人们说秋天给人以凄凉的感觉，因为花经过一夏天的争奇斗艳就慢慢凋谢了。可我觉得这时的家乡也很美，花草树木虽然枯萎了，但它们会在寒冬中期盼着来年的春、夏、秋、冬，继续生命的轮回……

秋天，象征着成熟，意味着收获。秋天是美好的，我爱秋天，更爱家乡的秋天。

My home village is a beautiful village far from the town. There is a clear brook arcs around the village, making the vil]age like a peninsula.

我的家乡是一个远离城镇的美丽村庄，有一条清澈的小河弧形环绕着，看起来像一个半岛。

On one side of the brook, are farmlands stretching as far as the eyes can see with farmers busy in the fields. The sunshines brightly through the pure, fresh air. After dark, I liked to roam around the fields along footpaths. The feeling was excellent.

从小河畔望去，你会看到农民们在无垠的田地里忙碌的身影，明亮的阳光透过纯净的、清新的空气射过来。黄昏，我喜欢沿着田间小道漫步，那种感觉真是妙极了。

On the other side of the brook, there are many trees. There are lots of green bamboo groves. The trees offer nice shade in the summer, and birds like singing in them. The bamboos sway gently in the fresh summer breeze. The brook runs calmly anti quietly through all this greenness, making a very nice picture.

在小河的一边有许多树木，还有一片翠绿的竹林。夏天，绿树成荫，鸟儿们喜欢在这里唱歌，竹林在夏天的微风申轻轻摇摆,小河静静地在绿色中流淌，这些构成一幅美丽的。

This is my home village. It is far away in the country, but always with me,wherever I am.

这就是我的家乡。它虽远在乡下，但不论我身在何方，它都会伴随着我。

Hometown is the place where a person belongs. Chinese people have special

feelings about their hometown. No matter where they go, they won’t abandon it

and always make some time to visit. My hometown brings me so many happy memories

and I wish it could keep its original face forever.

Two years ago, I lived in my hometown. It is a small village, so people

there get familiar with each other. When we walked on the country road, everyone

smiled when we saw each other. There was no distance for us. In the daytime, I

liked to go boating in the small river with my friends, or sometimes I could

catch fish. The green trees around me and I could hear the birds singing all the

time. It was a paradise for me.

However, even the small paradise can’t avoid being polluted seriously. The

environment is no more clean, the river becomes smaller and the water is so

dirty. When I see this, I feel so pity. If we lose the clean land, how can we

survive for long. Protecting the environment is in need.
