Cars and Air Pollution

Too many cars have created a lot of serious problems in our world. Besides congestion, accidents and fast fuel consumption, cars are responsible for a good part of air pollution in big cities. All the time, they are pumping huge amounts of waste gases into the atmosphere. These gases are very harmful, causing disease and even death.

One possible solution is to design and develop clean cars and clean fuels. In Shanghai, some of the public buses begin to run on natural gas, which does not give off as much carbon dioxide as the petrol. But it may take decades for the new models of clean cars completely replace the traditional ones. Another solution is to develop modern public transportation systems and restrict the use of private cars. The environmental issues facing each country are not unrelated to the well being of the rest of the world。 The impact is long term and international in scope。 Without international cooperation and agreement to address such environmental issues as glacial melting at the South Pole， depletion of the ozone layer， water pollution， air polution， etc。， the environmental conditions of the world will deteriorate to the detriment of every nation， not just those that ignore or lack the resources and technology to resolve their individual environmental problems。

As part of the same planet， it is the responsibility of each individual and nation to protect the global environment。 Only international cooperation will provide the timely solutions and the effectiveness needed to stop the deteriorating global environment。

Good environment can make people feel happy and fit . To improve the environment means to improve our life.

过去，人类为了追求自己的利益乱砍乱伐，使得森林资源越来越少，令水土大面积流失，使洪水，温室效应，狂风，沙尘暴泛滥造成了不可挽回的损失。

在此我为保护森林提几点建议：

保护环境，早在“不涸泽有鱼，不焚林而猎”的古训。在今天，我们更应懂得保护环境就是保护我们自己，我们不仅合理利用资源，更竭心尽力保护环境，让环境永葆青春，永远为我们人类的生存发展服务，作为学生，现在主要是创建绿色校园。

得有段时间，校园里果皮纸屑随处可见，忘关掉的水龙头哗哗地流着……楼道间，就更不用说了，大家是有亲身体验的，扫完后，转身就会发现地面已被有些人点缀成另一番景象，这些事情常让我吊怀远古，这些情况常让我警言今日，校园就是个小社会，同学们在有管理制度的校园中都不能做到爱护环境，走出校园，进入社会这一大环境，又能怎样呢?那就更不敢设想了。

同学们，救救咱们的地球吧!大家应立即行动起来，从小事做起，从现在做起，从爱护校园环境做起。一片纸，我们捡起，一滴水，我们节约，一堆垃圾，我们打扫，我们爱一棵苗，保一只蛙，种一根草，栽一棵树，把保护环境作为自己应尽的义务，用自己的实际行动保护环境，创建绿色校园。

2017年的脚步悄悄地近了，近了。上海世博盛会马上就要召开了。作为上海的小公民，我也急切地盼望这一天早日到来。那时全国人民、全世界人民都会到上海来，看看更好的城市，更好的生活。

世博会召开给上海带来了发展的机遇，也带来了很多环境、资源上的压力。

我们都是地球的小公民，生活在这个美丽的星球上。难道不应该节省资源吗?今天，我给大家讲个故事：著名的人口学家马尔萨斯曾经提出：人口按等比数列增长，而资源则按等差数列增长，马尔萨斯的意见给人类社会敲起警钟;必须注意控制人口和节约资源。还有，中国科学家经过统计，得出了一个惊人的结论：30年后，我国石油资源枯竭，50年后，我国煤气资源枯竭，150年后，我国天然气资源枯竭。在学校里，也有这种行为，比如：有些小朋友在洗手时，水开太大或者洗好手不关水龙头，让清清的水“哗哗”地流着，这都是不节省水源的行为。真让人心痛。还有，有一些小朋友一天要用三包餐巾纸，餐巾纸是用树木做成纸浆制造的。导致树木的浪费。小朋友们想想看，没有树木的地方会常年遭受沙尘暴的袭击，日子久了，就会变成沙漠。

所以，我们要节省资源，争当地球的小卫士。

2017年的脚步近了、近了。而我们节约资源、保护环境的行动也快了、快了。只有人人从身边小事做起，那么我们的上海会更美丽。

With the development of our society， energy in the world bees more and more

limited， so it is quite important for us to save energy and to protect our

environment。 As a student， there are a lot of methods we can do to save energy

at home。 For example， first， we can turn off the light as well as other

appliances when we are not using them。 Second， recycle the waste water， paper

and other waste so that we can reuse them。 Whats more， it is suggested to use

public transportation more instead of private cars.

Above all， everyone can make a great contribution to our environment。 I

Also,there are some people who don`t pay attention to hygiene and they can`t stop littering the rubbish casually or spitting everywhere all the time.And in addition, there are a few factories often cutting down the trees, discharging chemicals and dirty water and so on.And it causes many problems like the Greenhouse Effect.If they do these day by day and our life will be harder and harder,so we have to stop them. To stop them we can put up commonweal advertisements and tell them the detriment of destroying the environment.So we can start from now to make a beautiful life.

我国的森林资源已经非常宝贵了，森林资源非常紧缺。建国初期我国拥有112亿立方米原木，因为人口增加了，毁灭森林，改造农田而砍伐了100亿立方米树木。(中国煤炭剩余900亿吨，可供开采不到一百年。中国石油剩余储量23亿吨，可开采14年)中国土地面积960万平方公里，约占世界总量的%7。人口13亿，约占世界的%22。而森林面积仅占世界的%4.6。林木蓄积量不足世界总量的%3。人均森林面积128立方米只有世界水平的1/5，排世界的121位。人均森林蓄积量9.048立方米，只有世界平均水平的1/8，排世界第134位。年人均消耗木材0.22立方米，比我国高近三倍多，差距十分明显。

由于多种原因土地沙漠化、水灾、旱灾等生态问题十分严重，生态建设任重道远。目前我国荒漠化土地367万平方公里，占全国土地的38.2，而且还以每年3436平方公里在不断扩展，总我国体上仍在恶化，我国水土流失面积276万平方公里，占全国土地的27.8，每年还在以100万公顷的面积增加。

听了我的介绍，大家一定觉得和恐怖吧!但是只要保护森林，就可以拯救大自然了。
