Nowadays, the number of the wild tiger is becoming small and small. Maybe there will be no tiger any more if people continue cutting the trees, destorying the living environment or hunt the tiger just for the skin. We must stop all these mistakes. We should protect them, because the world without tiger is not a completed one.

老虎是现在对人类最有价值的动物之一。它的外形有点像猫，但是比猫大很多。它生活在林中，以小动物为食。

现如今，野生老虎的数量越来越少。如果人类再不停止砍伐树木，不停止毁坏生存环境，不停止为虎皮而猎杀老虎，也许有一天老虎就会灭亡。我们必须终止这些错误。我们应该保护老虎，因为没有老虎的世界不是一个完整的世界。

一幅漫画中画到：一个头戴鸭嘴帽，身穿制服的工作人员，从背包中取出一把斧头，朝森林里走去。

一到森林，他便从工作服口袋里拿出了一根香烟，悠闲地抽起来，突然，他看到一棵好树。便握着斧头跑了过去。还边走边想到了老板对他说的话：砍一棵好树，赏你50块钱。工作人员有模有样的试了试刀锋，“刷—刷”地砍了起来，动作是如此熟练。斧子在树身上留下了一条条刻痕。发出低沉得“咚咚”声。这声音打破了森林的和谐，只见一只啄木鸟飞来，朝工作人员的头啄去，并狠毒的说：“这段木头一定有虫……”

这就是那漫画，我看完了这幅漫画。心久久不能平静，“这段木头一定有虫”人的脑袋里真的有虫嘛？是的，有一条贪婪虫在人们的脑中游荡。是金钱创造了贪婪。正是贪婪毁坏了人们心中珍惜资源保护环境的意识。

例如说：塞特凯达斯瀑布是流量最多的瀑布。因为人类用水毫无节制，再加上沿河两岸的森林被滥砍滥伐，水土大量流失，使瀑布的水量逐量减少。游客常常乘兴而来，失兴而去。

我只想说：“地球上的资源不是无限的。我们不能浪费资源，因为没有了资源，人类也会灭亡。”我希望：人类不要再浪费资源了！

In 1971, the Spanish naturalists suggested that we should set up a day to call on people to protect the forest and make the full use of it. Then the representatives of the naturalists from all over the world decided that March 21 is the world forest day. In some countries, this day is also deemed as the tree-planting day. After 4 decades, the world forest day is more than a day to call on people to protect the forest, making people realize the relations between human being and the forest is also the aim of the forest day.

It’s generally accepted that the forest has the functions of cooling off the global temperature, refreshing the air, preserving soil and water, protecting the nature links and so on. The forest is also the key to solve the severe environmental problems. In American Indian’s cultural, the local people believe that the forest raise up the sky. If the forest disappears, the sky will collapse, and the living beings would die out. With the rapid development of human society, the forest coverage rate is decrease. While the demands of the woods and papers products keep increasing. It can hardly meet the needs of human beings. Everyday, countless trees are cutting down to make various paper products. In order to make more money, people destroy the forests, and there comes different kinds of problems. For instance, soil erosion, global warming, glaciers melting, and sea level rising. The forest is so important to this planet. We should do something to protect the forest.

人们普遍认为森林具有降温、净化空气、保护水土和维持自然链等功能。森林也是解决严峻环境问题的关键。在美洲的印第安人文化中,当地人认为树木撑起了天空,如果森林消失,那么天空就会塌陷,世界上的生物就会随之灭亡。随着人类社会的快速发展,森林覆盖率在逐渐下降。而人们对木材及纸制品的需求量日益增长,所砍伐的树木难以满足人们的需求。每一天,不计其数的树木被做成各种各样的纸制品。为了赚更多的钱,人们摧毁了森林,然而问题也随之而来。例如:水土流失、气候变暖、冰川融化、海平面上升等等。森林对我们的地球来说如此的重要,我们应该好好保护它。

First, stop cutting down the forest blindly. If we really have to, plant more trees. Second, the government should do something to enhance the people’s awareness of forest protection. Last but not least, we can reduce the use of paper, such as avoid using disposable paper goods. Protect the forest is to protect ourselves. Without the forest, we can not live on the earth either.

首先,我们要停止盲目的砍伐森林。如果不得不这样做,那就种植更多的树木。其次,政府宣传森林的重要性,以此提高普通民众保护森林的意识。最后,我们应该减少纸质用品,例如避免使用一次性的纸制品。保护森林就是保护我们自己。没有了森林,我们也不能存活在地球之上。

我国的森林资源已经非常宝贵了，森林资源非常紧缺。建国初期我国拥有112亿立方米原木，因为人口增加了，毁灭森林，改造农田而砍伐了100亿立方米树木。(中国煤炭剩余900亿吨，可供开采不到一百年。中国石油剩余储量23亿吨，可开采14年)中国土地面积960万平方公里，约占世界总量的%7。人口13亿，约占世界的%22。而森林面积仅占世界的%4.6。林木蓄积量不足世界总量的%3。人均森林面积128立方米只有世界水平的1/5，排世界的121位。人均森林蓄积量9.048立方米，只有世界平均水平的1/8，排世界第134位。年人均消耗木材0.22立方米，比我国高近三倍多，差距十分明显。

由于多种原因土地沙漠化、水灾、旱灾等生态问题十分严重，生态建设任重道远。目前我国荒漠化土地367万平方公里，占全国土地的38.2，而且还以每年3436平方公里在不断扩展，总我国体上仍在恶化，我国水土流失面积276万平方公里，占全国土地的27.8，每年还在以100万公顷的面积增加。

听了我的介绍，大家一定觉得和恐怖吧!但是只要保护森林，就可以拯救大自然了。

As we all know, the environment around us is getting worse and worse more and more seriously today. Water is polluted, we have no clean water to drink. Many trees are cutting down, some animals are getting less and less. Some factories are pouring dirty air into the sky. The population is increasing faster and faster, resources are getting less and less…etc. Not only does it affect our lives and health, it also has a great affection in the future. People’s health has been greatly affected by air, noise and water pollution. Many people died of diseases. In order to live a better life, something must be done to stop the pollution. It’s our duty to protect our environment. We shouldn’t throw away rubbish everywhere. Trees are very helpful and important for us. If everyone makes contribution to protecting the environment, the world will become much more beautiful.
