为什么会造成这样的后果？原因是土地失去了树木的保护。树木不仅可以保持土壤，还可以蓄水。树林的树冠就像一把大伞，不让雨水直接冲刷地面。树干上的苔藓和树下的枯枝败叶也可以吸收一部分雨水。而树林里土壤的蓄水能力就更大了，剩下的雨水渗进土壤，大都能够被储存起来。树林就像是一个天然水库一样。当人们砍下了树木，破坏了环境，大自然的报复就来了。

树木的作用还有很多，可以调节温度、减少噪音、抵挡风沙、美化环境……。

同学们，树木的作用是多么大呀！让我们一起行动起来，爱护环境、保护树木吧，这也是保护我们自己。

地球，是人类赖以生存的家园。它提供人类水，食物，阳光以及人类所需要的一切。地球好比人类的母亲，人类的生存离不开地球，同样地球的发展也离不开人类。但是我们的地球母亲实在是太累了，如果地球像人类一样赋予生命，那么它早已经千疮百孔，气息奄奄了。

随着经济的发展和科技的进步，人类的生活越来越好，但是环境问题不容忽视。原本清澈的河流现在却流淌着浑浊的液体，要知道河流就像地球的血液一样无比重要，想象一下，当一个人失去了血液会怎样?答案自然是会失去生命。

除此之外，一片片树林不见了，取而代之的是一望无垠的荒漠，昔日的.树林不见了，昔日的鸟语花香也消失了，这一切的一切都不见了。而这罪魁祸首就是人类自己，换个角度想，如果没有人类，或许这一切就不会发生，地球也不会像现在一样了。

尽管如此，那些人类，那些自以为是的人类，他们根本没有意识到地球是我们的家园，唯一的家园，他们被金钱和利欲所迷惑，在他们眼里，地球只不过是一个赚钱的工具罢了。

如果没有人类，天还是蓝蓝的，森林不会消失，河水仍然清澈……但是没有如果，这些后果也给人类带来了伤害。水污染严重，许多地区的人喝不上干净的水，甚至因此而渴死。不要让地球上的最后一滴水成为人类的眼泪。

近些年来雾霾天气日益严重，给人类的生活造成了一定的危害。雾霾，指小于2.5微米的可入肺微粒。造成雾霾的主要原因就是空气中排放大量烟尘，焚烧煤炭。这不是人类自己造成的么?

我们只有一个地球，保护地球人人有责，不要妄想还有下一个地球，也不要妄想我们在消耗完地球的资源后移民去月球或者其它星球，因为其它星球根本不适合人类生存。即使真的有下一个地球，它也会被人类的贪婪本质给毁灭。我们的地球妈妈已经太累太累，她需要我们的关怀，我们不要在伤害她了。

她也会哭泣，她也会痛，她也有着生命。树木是她的秀发，河流是她的血液，天空是她的脸庞，大地是她的胸怀，我们是她的孩子。她是那么的仁慈与宽怀，她，包容了我们对她所做的一切。她，无怨无悔，却接受我们的伤害，因为，她不想让她的孩子受伤。所以，我们也不要让她受伤了好吗?

Saving Water

The world is not only hungry,but also thirsty for water. This may seem strange to you, since nearly 75 % of the earths surface is covered with water. But about 97% of this huge amount is sea water, or salt water. Man can only drink and use the other 3% -- the fresh water that comes from rivers, lakes,underground, and other sources. And we cannot even use all of that, because some of it is in the form of icebergs and glaciers. Even worse, some of it has been polluted.

However, as things stand today, this small amount of fresh water, which is constantly being replaced by rainfall, is still enough for us. But our need for water is increasing rapidly-- almost day by day. Only if we take steps to deal with this problem now can we avoid a severe worldwide water shortage later on. A limited water supply would have a bad effect on agriculture and industry. Let me give you just one small exampie of how necessary water is to industry. Did you know that to produce a single ton of steel, it takes about 91, 000 liters of water?

We all have to learn how to stop wasting our precious water. One of the first steps we should take is to develop ways of reusing it. Experiments have already been done in this field, but only on a small scale. For us, the systems are as important as the spacecraft.

大家应该见过树吧？说不定家附近就种有树，可你会爱护它？或许你认为一棵树对你没有多大价值。那你就错了，大错特错。

其实，绿色植物在生活中，占重要的地位。这是绿色的自豪。

看吧！峨眉山如果没有覆盖山峦的绿色作衣，它哪会有“秀丽名山”的骄傲？黄山如果没有姿态万千的绿树衬托，它哪有“雄奇名山”的胜名？各国大大小小的公园如果没有绿色的点缀，它怎能吸引络绎不绝的游客？这是绿色的魅力。

走进鸟语花香的山林，使人感到心旷神怡。一切都活了，天更蓝了，水更清了，连风姑娘也是那么开心。小树长高变绿了，因为我们是朋友，所以我来看你了。小鸟叫了，因为我们是朋友，所以我来听你唱歌了。这是绿色的奇妙。

看那一片片绿洲般草坪。休闲的老人们开朗了，在草坪上做健身操，脸上露出了微笑。谈笑风声的年轻人更加起劲、入迷。可爱天真的孩子在草坪上变得更加活泼。这是绿色的性格。

可是现在，人们疯狂的乱滥伐树木，不仅破坏了森林，伤害了动物，更危及到人类自身的安全。还有，这还会使天然的绿色与我们永别了，剩下的是荒凉和冷酷。于是，台风，洪水怒吼着，不时向人们发出灾难性的报复。失去了森林这个天然的保护层，台风，洪水更加容易向我们发起进攻。天暗了，乌云压下来了，雨下起来了。台风吹跨了没有保护层的堤坝。洪水冲了下来，村庄被淹没了，台风又把它们吹得无影无踪。这一切，都人类自己造成的。这也是绿色对人类的惩罚。

如果在你生日那天，亲手种一棵环保树，那在你生命的跑道上会一直有着绿色的踪影。如果在植树节那天，发动你的朋友，在地球上种几棵小树苗，你就是在延长你的“生命线”。如果你少用一张纸，如果少用一次性筷子，那世界上不就多了几棵绿色的树了吗？

所以，我人类再这样一味地乱砍滥伐下去，不但萃绿的森林会被茫茫无边的沙漠所代替，而且也将危及到人类自身的生存。难道不是吗？绿色是生命的象征，破坏绿色，就是抹杀生命；发展绿色，就是绿色，就是保住生命。

我们是祖国未来的建设者，面对绿的危机岂能袖手旁观，无动于衷！植树造林是我们唯一的出路，也是我们每一位同学义不容辞的责任。同学们，行动起来吧！从我做起，从现在做起，用绿色装点祖国，让我们筑起一道绿色长城！去创造一个鸟语花香的新环境。

人类啊，不要再执迷不悟了，赶快悬崖勒马，保护环境，拯救地球！因为我们早已别无选择。
