Dragon Boat Festival， often known as Tuen Ng Festival or Duan Wu Festival， is a traditional Chinese festival held on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese calendar. It is also known as the Double Fifth.[citation needed] It has since been celebrated， in various ways， in other parts of East Asia as well， most notably Korea.

The exact origins of Duan Wu are unclear， but one traditional view holds that the festival memorializes the Chinese poet Qu Yuan of the Warring States Period. 端午确切的起源尚不清楚，但一个传统的观点认为，这个节日是由中国诗人屈原战国时期。他因沉溺于一条河而自杀，因为他对楚国政府的腐败感到厌恶。当地人知道他是个好人，决定把食物扔到河里喂鱼，以防他们吃屈原的尸体。他们还坐在龙舟上，试图用船上的鼓声和船前凶恶的龙头来吓走鱼儿。

民国初年，端午也被誉为“诗人节”，由于屈原的地位，作为中国的第一诗人的个人名声。

今天，人们吃粽子(原本打算喂鱼的食物)和赛龙舟以纪念屈原的戏剧性死亡。

There are four key points to study English: listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Firstly, we should be brave to talk with others in English. By doing this, we can improve ore talking and listening skill.

Secondly, we should try to listen to all kinds of English programmes as much as possible. In this way, we can gradually improve our pronunciation.

Thirdly, we should often read English books. When we come across a new word. We should guess its meaning through the contest first. Then look it up in the dictionary to have a check. I thin,, it is a good way of reading.

Fourthly, we should practice our writing skills. Whenever we have any idea, we should get the pen and write it down at once. It is very important to avoid writing in Chinese way and using the Chinese grammar.

今天是六月八日，农历五月初五，也就是端午节。说起“端午节”，我还知道它有另外的几个名字呢！如“端阳节”、“女儿节”、“诗人节”。你知道它们的来历吗？让我来告诉你。由于在这一天，出嫁的女儿要回娘家来探望自己的父母亲而得名“女儿节”;“诗人节”当然是要纪念爱国诗人屈原，现在知道了吧？

早上，我吃过早饭，妈妈和奶奶带我出去玩。一路上，我嘻嘻哈哈、蹦蹦跳跳地走在前面，别提有多开心了。不知怎么的，我发现今天大街上有好多人，他们都买了树枝拿在手里。我很奇怪准备问妈妈，却发现妈妈和奶奶手里也各拿着一捆树枝，就连忙跑过去问：“妈妈你们买树枝干啥？啊！真香！”妈妈笑着说：“傻孩子，这是‘艾枝’。艾枝可以驱蚊子和苍蝇，还可以避邪呢！我们把艾枝挂在自己家的门上、窗户上，不是很好吗？”我点点头。

the bird cage fell down to the ground knocking the bird cages door open. the bird then flew away. so the cat started to chase the bird and the dog chased the cat. however the bird flew on top of the tree. so the cat started to climb the tree and the dog barked at the cat. before the cat could reach the bird, the bird flew away. this caused the cat to fall out of the tree.

the dog then ran away, the bird quickly flew back into his cage and the man from the house carried him safely home.

Dragon Boat Festival is a Chinese traditional festival. It falls on the fifth day of May in the lunar calendar. A day before this festival, my mother and grandmother began to make zongzi. Of course, I would act as assistant. But it turned out that I was more of a hindrance than a help. When they finished, they started to cook them. This process needed a long time, because I could have them in the next day. Zongzi was very delicious. On the day of dragon boat festival, our family prepared for dinner after having breakfast. Everyone of my family will come back home for the solid diet. Chicken is indispensable on the dinner desk in Chinese traditional festival. There were many delicious foods, which made me watering. I ate lots of them. It is a wonderful festival.
