My mother is sixty-three years old, and for the last forty year she has

been the village doctor. She has a small clinic that she prepares medicine and

treats small injuries, and also sells canned powder milk. Our house has people

in and out at all hours of the day and night. The villagers always like to come

villagers come to my mother when their baby is due. My mother is very good at

Research experience and academic activity

When a sophomore, I joined the Association of AI Enthusiast and began to

narrow down my interest for my future research. With the tool of OpenGL and

Matlab, I designed a simulation program for transportation scheduling system. It

is now widely used by different research groups in NUST. I assumed and fulfilled

a sewage analysis & dispose project for Nanjing sewage treatment plant. This

was my first practice to convert a laboratory idea to a commercial product.

In retrospect, I find myself standing on a solid basis in both theory and

experience, which has prepared me for the Ph.D. program. My future research

interests include: Network Scheduling Problem, Heuristic Algorithm research

(especially in GA and Neural network), Supply chain network research, Hybrid

system performance analysis with Petri nets and Data Mining.

Myhometownis a beautiful place with a pupulation of eight million.It

stands beside the Gulf of Bohai.

Tianjin has many high office and commercial buildings and wide tree-lined

streets.Several excellent world-famous institutions of higher learning are

located here,namely Nankai University and Tianjin University.As a most important

industrial center for North China,her hundreds of factories and joint ventures

with foreign companies manufacture a wide range of top-grade and high-tech

products or consumer goods.Many of these products have attained or surpassed

world levels.Markets and department stores,big or small,are well-stocked with

all kinds of goods,which are high in quality but low in price.

But in the old days,Tianjin used to be a poor and backward city

characteristic of semi-colonialism and semi-feudalism.The few rich persons lived

in luxury houses while the majority of the working people lived in old,shabby

huts or buildings on narrow and muddy streets.The working class led a very

miserable life.

Today people in Tianjin are going all out to build their city into a

beautiful and prosperous place to live in.

When I watch the TV series, there always present the rich familys life,

but I dont feel envious about the rich life. It is obvious that though these

people live the better life, the cost is that their parents spend less time to

play with them. The time to stay with our parents is really important, while the

rich parents have much work to do, so they dont have much private hours. I was

born in an ordinary family. My parents will never miss the moment when I need

them. I am so thankful to life, because I have my parents love. Whats more, I

have made many good friends. We share our interest and have a lot in common.

I think Mid-Autumn Day is an old traditional festival in China。 Everybody

likes it because its a family get-together。 You see it is called"Mid-Autumn

Day"， so it often es in September or October。 It is on the 15th of the 8th of

the lunar month。 Now， lets say something about this interesting festival。

Firstly， Id like to say something about the moon。 I like it very much

because I want to be an astronaut in the future。 That day the moon is round，

big， just like a beautiful plate hanging on the blue cloth。 When I see the moon，

I will remember the ancient myths——the godess Chang Er and her little rabbit are

Secondly， I11 say something about the tradition on Mid-Autumn Day。

Look!Theres a big tree in a garden of a Chinese fami-ly。 All the family members

are sitting around a big table under the tree in the open air。 They are eating

the mooncakes and admiring the full moon in the sky。 That is a family reunion

dinner。 The mooncakes and the moon represent the love from a family。 I think

this is one of the most valuable things in the world。

Thirdly，it is a very good opportunity to make three wishes on Mid-Autumn

Day。 My wishes are: the first， I， an astronaut in the future， would like to go

to the moon one day， and stay with the sky and stars; the second， I hope every

person in the world will stay with family， share love from the family forever;

the third， I hope everybodys dream will e true。
