How to Be Punctual

1.Acknowledge that you are a person who is having a hard time being punctual. As with any problem, you cannot fix it if youre in denial that its a problem at all. But if your chronic tardiness is beginning to strain your job and/or your relationships, the first thing you need to do is acknowledge this as a weakness so you can begin to work toward correcting it.Although if it is a rational problem,like traffic or small children,there is no need to feel bad-just keep working on it!

2. Wake up when youre supposed to wake up. Dont hit the snooze button, linger in bed, and watch TV at the very start of your day.Maybe even try setting your clock 10 minutes earlier than you need to. Acquire the habit of sitting up, stretching, and getting out of bed as soon as the alarm goes off. If you cant get out of bed on time, you may be going to bed too late. Try sleeping earlier to allow yourself at least 7 hours sleep. By getting up late you are setting a pattern of lateness for the rest of the day. 3. Commit yourself to being 15 minutes early for everything. If you have to be to work at 8:00, dont even tell yourself this. Just tell yourself (and everyone else who listens- but dont annoy them or make them think that they are late or early!) "I have to be at work at 7:45." If you do this, you will be on time even with little unforeseen interruptions. You will be on time even with a traffic jam. And on those rare times that you actually show up 15 minutes early; you will get kudos for being an enthusiastic employee.You can also chat with others who are early,and that will make you happy before work!

4. Bring something you can read in short segments almost everywhere you go. This makes it easy to be early, since in the 10-15 minutes you have before an appointment/event, you can get a few pages of reading done. This makes it feel like youre getting something done (and you are) while you are waiting, if you do have to wait. You can get a ton of reading done this way, too.

5. Watch yourself for a few days to see where you often waste the most time. These "time sinkholes" (such as getting distracted while checking emails) are often unnoticed by us and can throw off your daily planning. Try to change your habits around these activities. For example, standing up while quickly checking your emails makes it hard to lose an hour randomly surfing the web.

6. Keep organized. Disorganization is directly related to lateness. How often have you been late because you were looking for your car keys or couldnt find an important document? Keep the things that you use everyday in some resemblance of organization and your routines will go smoother.

7. Plan ahead.

o Schedule something unimportant right before something very important. If you have an essential interview at 4:00, plan to meet a friend for coffee at the coffee shop next to your interview at 3:30. Then, even if you are late to meet your friend, you will be poised to pounce on your meeting.But remember to tell your friend that you may miss your coffee(they might feel that you are ditching them.)

o Pick out your clothes the night before (dont forget your underclothes and shoes!). If you need to bring something with you, set it with your car keys or purse.

o If you are going to some unfamiliar place, look over a map, or even drive there once if at all possible. Have your transportation planned; if you drive, keep your car in good order and refill gas in the tank. If you ride a bus, know the route, have your fare, and keep cab money on hand in case of emergency. If you are depending on another person for a ride—have a plan B!

8. Go to sleep on time. This makes it a lot easier to get up on time and helps you stay on task during the day. Unless you know otherwise, assume you need eight hours of sleep every night. By far the majority of people need at least this much sleep. College students and younger need more. Most people underestimate their sleep needs.

When you are late for appointments, meetings or work, you show a lack of respect for other people’s time as well as your own. Punctuality is a problem for many people。

In recent years, the global warming gets increasingly attention. More and more people make contribution to stop the global warming. Therefore, a new lifestyle occurs--low carbon life. What can we do to live in low carbon?

近几年，全球气候变暖越来越得到关注。越来越多的人为阻止全球变暖做出贡献。因此，一种新的生活方式诞生了——低碳生活。在低碳生活中我们可以做些什么呢?

First, remember to turn off lights and turn off the faucet when you do not need to use. Use the energy-saving lamps. There are many small things we can do to save resources. Second, when we go out, take public transport as much as possible, to reduce gas emissions and to ease the transporting pressures.

All in all, there are many other things we can do to live in the low carbon life. It needs us to do something practically. If everyone can keep this lifestyle from now on, it will greatly change the situation and our home would become more beautiful.

不仅仅我们生活在现代社会很幸福，我们有一个好的家庭、好的班群众也是一件十分幸福的事。我们生在福中不知福，天天在埋怨学习。感叹生活，父母给我们关怀，我们爱理不理。只要想想战争时代的流浪孩子，甚至是此刻孤儿院里的小孩，我们就会感到羞耻！我们连身边这一切都不珍惜，又何谈建设社会，保家卫国？

我们务必认识清楚：我们的幸福，不是我们劳动所得，也不是我们理所拥有，这是父母给予我们的，是社会、是国家人民给予我们的。我们无权过分追求，也无权放下、糟蹋这一切，因为，这并不是我们真正拥有的。

所以我们更就应珍惜我们身边的一切，珍惜我们所拥有的来之不易的幸福。然后只有学会珍惜，我们的人格才得以健全，才能真正成为一个社会栋梁。

When we are very small, we dream to be the great person in the future, such as the scientist, the policeman and so on. It is good for the children to own the big dream, so that they will study hard and fight for their future. But the fact is that not all the person can become the great person, most people are doing the ordinary jobs. In my opinion, ordinary is beautiful, too. Though they are not doing the fine jobs, they find their own place and make a contribution to the world. Take the cleaner for example. They wake up early and do the cleaning work. 爸爸刚下班回来，额头上仍然留着细密的汗珠。那双粗糙的手在水盆里一遍遍地流下污浊。对此，我已习以为常，不去过问了。

家里有几棵香椿树，每到春天，树上就会钻出嫩嫩的香椿芽。我们经常摘下来，做成椿芽饼——是十分好吃的，我尤其喜欢吃。

爸爸走出门去，见我在树下仰望着，看出了我的心思，便拿出长钩来钩椿芽。

我自然是十分欢喜。

在我的担惊受怕中，爸爸终于安然无恙地下来了，手里捧着一大簇鲜嫩的椿芽。
