The first Arbor Day took place on April 10, 1872 in Nebraska. It was the brainchild of Julius Sterling Morton (1832-1902)， a Nebraska journalist and politician originally from Michigan. 早上八点，我们就出发了。一路上，两边翠绿的麦田，一眼望不到边，金黄的油菜花随风起伏，小鸟欢快地叫着，我们迫不及待地来到万安小学，植树活动已经正式开始了，我们就排着队向山上前进。

到了山坡上，我们争先恐后地干起来，我们一起拿好自带的工具开始挖坑。首先把上面的树叶和野草铲到一旁，再把土放到另一边，树坑挖好后我们就把树苗放入坑内，然后让一个人扶着，又把水桶里的水浇到树坑里，接着把剩余的土填入坑内后，最后用力把土踩实，我们的树就栽好了。

今天我不但学会了植树,还从课堂走进田野，亲近自然。下山时大家都兴高采烈地说:“植树活动多有意义啊!”植树活动成了我们记忆中美好的瞬间。
