There are many traditional festivals in China. My favourite festival is the Spring Festival. It is a very important festival for Chinese. Before the festival, people will go to visit their relatives and friends. They usually have a big dinner together and give best wishes to each other. Most children in China love this festival because they can play fireworks and lucky money from their parents and relatives.

My grade school days are the most wonderful time I have ever had. In those days I always wanted as eagerly to learn as a dog prowls about in search of food. The teachers taught me not only the three R’s but also the way to observe the world surrounding us. They laid more stress on observation than on memorization. Thus we had much time to talk over and trade our learning experiences. What excited me most during my grade school days, however, was to be out collecting specimens of the butterfly. the second legend has it that during the yuan dynasty，an underground group led by zhu yuan zang was determined to rid the country of mongolian dominance. the moon cake was created to carry a secret message. when the cake was opened and the message read，an uprising was unleashed which successfully routed the mongolians. it happened at the time of the full moon，which，some say，explains why mooncakes are eaten at this time. mooncakes are usually stamped with chinese characters indicating the name of the **ry and the type of filling used. some **ries will even stamp them with your family name so that you can give personalised ones to friends and family. they are usually presented in boxes of four which indicate the four phases of the moon. traditional mooncakes are made with melted lard，but today vegetable oil is more often used in the interests of health. mooncakes are not for the diet-conscious as they are loaded with calories. the best way to wash down one of these sticky cakes is with a cup of chinese tea，especially jasmine or chrysanthemum tea，which aids the digestion.

I am always shy and afraid of standing in front of a lot of people, so I

dont have many friends. In my heart, I desire to make a lot of friends and hang

out with them. I know my problem. I am not confident and if I show my humor,

surely other students will notice me. So I decide to join activities. I take

But one day, after we got home from school, my mother went into the bedroom and stayed in bed. I didnt know what had happened.

When I was very small, I stayed in the hometown with my grandparents. I had the great time there, I liked the environment so much. There was a long river in front of my house, the water was very clean, I could see the small fish swim. My grandma usually washed her clothes along the river side. But now when I went back to my hometown, the river was very dirty, the water was light yellow and there were so many rubbish floating in the river. It made me feel that the river had lost its life. I missed the old time when I was playing in the river. It is human being that ruin the environment, if we don’t take action to protect it, we will destroy ourselves.
