长城的建设开始于公元前第七世纪在周朝诸侯国在该国北部地区建立自己的墙壁，用于国防目的。秦国统一中国后，于公元前221年，它加入了墙壁，把侵略者从匈奴部落在北美和扩展到10000多个锂或5000公里。这是名称由来的“长城””。
