Dear Sir,

I am writing to apply for a British Council scholarship to study in Britain. I did my five years basic training in medicine at Shanghai University. After this I successfully completed a one-year postgraduate course in Ophthalmology at the Peoples General Hospital, where I am at present serving a two-year probation in the Eye Clinic.

As a result of the publication in 2003 of my article in New Scientist entitled "Soft and Rigid Contact Lenses ", which was based on a survey of 37 patients over 6 months, I made contact with Dr. Li Ming of the Capital Hospital and Dr. Ma Li of the University College Hospital. I have received their help and advice with my current research project, which is a two-year survey of the acceptance of various types of contact lenses in 200 patients.

Despite their help, I feel that I cannot make real progress in this field unless I can actually have day-to-day contact with these specialists. I would therefore like to continue my research at either the Capital Hospital or the UCH as soon as my probationary period here is completed, and I would like to study in Britain for two years.

记得是去年的暑假，我和爸爸一起去鹅湖边散步，走了一段路，我就一个劲的喊口渴，于是，爸爸就在路边的小店给我买了根冰棍。我边吃边走，一会儿就吃完了，随手把冰棍棒往鹅湖里一扔。爸爸看见了，马上提醒我说;“可可，不能乱扔垃圾噢!如果每个人都像你一样往湖里扔垃圾，这美丽的鹅湖不就变成了垃圾湖了。”我羞愧的说：“知道了，我下次一定不乱扔垃圾。”爸爸微笑着抚摸我的头说：“地球也是我们的家，我们应该保护它，爱护它，让天更蓝，水更清，草更绿。”我调皮的说：“噢，那就是大家一直说的，城市是我家，环境清洁靠大家。我明白了。”让从那以后，我再也不乱扔垃圾了。

我想爱护环境与每个人息息相关，所以要从每个人做起!

Hello,everyone! My Winter vacation`s life was so interesting.Do you want to know what I did during the Winter vacation? Well, at the first week, I did my homework,surfed the Internet,played computer games and watched TV. At the second week, I helped my parents with housewrk, so I did the dishes, washed lots of my parents` clothes and helped them take out the trash. At the third week, I chatted with my girl friend on mobile phone and we both had a good time.I had a happy Winter vacation`s life ! So how about you? What did you do during the Winter vacation?

童年然而金色的，童年然而快乐的，童年然而美丽的，童年的趣事像过电影一样，一幕幕在我脑海里涌现。

那然而我三岁的时候，有一次回老家，我看到地上有好多像巧克力球一样的东西，我以为然而巧克力球，顿时垂涎三尺，以迅雷不及掩耳之势拿起一颗放到嘴里，顿时感到奇臭无比，我哇——的一声哭了起来。哥哥跑出来一看，吖！我把羊粪蛋放嘴里了！他边笑边说：“小笨蛋，那然而羊粪蛋，不能吃。”我羞得满脸通红，又去漱了口才好一些。

你说我然而不然而很蠢？此刻想起来还笑个不停呢！这就然而我的童年趣事。

今年暑假时，我去了好多地方：香港、广州、澳门和温州的瑶溪。我还是最喜欢家乡的瑶溪，为什么呢?因为它的景色美丽!

我们决定驾车自行。快到目的地了，我开始迫不及待了，到底瑶溪是怎样的呢?我带着疑问来到了瑶溪。

驱车进入两排整齐茂密的树木，在一个大拐弯发现了惊喜——一条长长的小溪，我不由自主地来到了溪旁。小溪里游着一条条活泼可爱的小鱼，有的成群结队好像在着急地回家，拥抱妈妈;有的两条一队头对头撞，仿佛在比谁的“铁头功”最强;还有的把头抬出水面，似乎在和我打招呼呢!

这条小溪在石壁的“装扮”下，好像在山上一样，溪水哗啦啦地流淌着，清澈见底，好像一层层厚厚的水晶。我被这美景深深吸引住了。爸爸叫了我一声才回过神来，爸爸说：“咱们一起玩水吧!”我毫不犹豫地答应了。

下了水：“哇，好凉快呀!”此时有人在捕小鱼，我们也兴奋地加入了他们的队伍，于是拿来鱼网，开始捕鱼。小鱼可聪明了，我拿着鱼网挡在小鱼儿的前方等待，可小鱼总是爱“绕道行驶”，让我们扑空……一个下午一条鱼都没有捕到。

天色渐渐暗了下来，马上就要走了。看着高大的山;清澈见底的溪水;灵活可爱的小鱼。真是让人依依不舍，流连忘还呀!这儿真美啊!

人人都有一个家，家是我们成长的根基，家是一本诵读不完的书，家是一篇写美好祝福的诗文，家是一首温馨动听的歌曲，家是一杯浓厚清醇的佳酿。家是那样的平淡无奇，又是那样令人千魂梦绕。

家好像一直船，虽然是一只小小的船，却要载着我们走过那么多漫长的岁月。这漫长的岁月里，可能有时风平浪静，有时却又会波涛汹涌，但是我们在这条船上，有着爸爸妈妈的庇护，即使有再大的的狂风暴雨，也不会把我们吞没。

这是一只不会沉的船，风浪不会把它吞没，大火也不能把它烧光，这是一只不知疲倦的船，它将一直航行下去。

在这条船上，我们会经历许多风浪，许多坎坷，但是我们在经历许多风浪以后，也会变的越来越坚强，越来越自信。
