While some of man’s accomplishments, such as the building of transportation systems and the consistent supply of potable water, have made Earth a better place for people to live, they have not come without cost. Overall, it seems that human activity harms the Earth more than it benefits it.

For example, the transportation systems that benefit mankind also create pollution and use up valuable energy resources. 终于放学了，大家怀着喜悦的心情，兴高采烈地来到了操场。我们分成了男女两队：顾西陵、谷亚宁和王嘉伟组成男生队;我、孙嘉荧和卢靖雯为女生队。规则是：谁被雪球砸中，谁就成为对方的人。来到操场，双方就忙着做雪球。我抓起一把洁白的雪，用手捏实，一个圆溜溜的雪球就做好了。经过几分钟的准备，我们就开始了激烈的‘战斗’。只见王嘉伟拿起一个大雪球“嗖”得一声向我砸来。我连忙闪开，也不甘示弱向他仍了一个大雪球。王嘉伟看见雪球向自己飞来，吓得就像老鼠见了猫一样，立刻连忙躲开。当他看见雪球没有打中自己，还得意的向我们扮了一个鬼脸。渐渐的，我们女生队快抵挡不住了。大家就拿出一个超级大雪球狠狠地向男生队扔去，一下子居然砸中了两个人。男生们见情况不妙也只好乖乖的举手投降。这一次打雪仗，我们女生队大获全胜。大家高兴极了。

天色渐渐地暗了下来，我们手拉着手一起走出了学校 。

For many people Christmas is a very special time of year. It is a time filled with magic - this is especially true for Children. The gifts and toys, of course, are a big part of it ......
