Another deep impression of my university is her creativity and profundity. As is known to all, she has a wide range and comprehensive style. No wonder I can enjoy the multi-ceolored life here. Every school year a diversity of competitions and aetivities are held and a large number of students take active part in them. I do appreciate such a style, and in my minds eye, she resembles a tall tree silhouetting with all shapes of branches while stretching far into the blue sky.

When I was young at high school,I couldnt stop dreaming about my college life again and again.Suffering too much pressure form college entrance test,I always admired college students for their relaxed life in college.

In my personal opinion,living in university is  an enjoyment.Every day we can open our eyes naturally,and put on clothes in our own style without warring about teachers rigid control.Communicating with great master is no longer beyond our reach.Each course we take can be a feast for our mind and soul.After class,we will lead a rich and colorful life filled with various leisure activities such as .Library in  university is another factor I pursue.I think its an access to enhancing our comprehensive abilities to read even just scan all  sorts of

承担责任首先要理解使命。德国哲学家费希特说过，一个社会的知识精英的进步决定着人类发展的一切其他领域的进步，他应该永远走在前头为其他领域开辟道路。也就是说，精英意味着承担更多的责任。正如我校数学系首任系主任的华罗庚先生，1950年毅然放弃美国伊利诺伊大学终身教授职位，回到百废待兴的祖国，参加建设，并发表公开信说：“梁园虽好，非久居之乡。归去来兮……为了国家民族，我们应当回去。”今天，中国已是一个经济大国，但在通向一个文明、富裕的强国道路上，仍有许多困难和挑战，从依赖资源消耗、廉价人力的发展模式转变为通过科技进步与创新的可持续发展模式，是中国发展的必然选择。你们身处这样一个时代，作为中国科大的一员，就应该承担起科技兴国的责任，自觉地将个人理想与国家、社会的需要紧密地结合起来，只有树立起远大的理想，才能够克服各种困难，做到追求卓越。

China has often been criticized for the rampant practice of software piracy. Take a look around. We operate on pirated Windows systems, defend PC security with pirated Kaspersky anti-virus programmes, process files with pirated Microsoft Office, draft 3D designs with pirated AutoCAD, refine pictures with pirated Adobe Photoshop, and study English with pirated Kingsoft’s electronic dictionaries and translators. Ever since colleges started to charge the students for the education they receive, there has always been a problem for some students, especially for those from remote rural regions, to get the money for it. So the government offers them an option of borrowing money from banks. Surveys show that the number of students financing his education in this way is increasing.

However, some students, although not many, failed to pay back the loans as they had promised in the contract. The banks have a very hard time coping with this problem. And the government can do nothing effective to help the banks.

I think there is more than one reason for this. Dishonesty may be one but not the major one. As is known, we are experiencing a particular phase of economic development where the supply of human resources is much bigger than the demand for it. So many students are not able to find a well-paid job. How can they pay the loans back? To solve this problem, I think the government should make efforts to get the whole economy go smoothly, creating more job opportunities.

After entering college, we found, to our surprise, that differences between high school life and college life are great. In high school, we always depended on our parents and teachers to solve all kinds of difficult problems. At college, however, we have to rely exclusively on ourselves. Whats more, we have to learn how to get along with our classmates and roommates.

Four years at college is an important yet very short period of time in our life. So it is always expected that we adapt to this life as quickly as possible. But it is a pity that not everyone can do so immediately. Here are some suggestions.

First, get familiar with the main buildings on the campus. Spend one or two hours by yourself or with your classmates to go around the campus so that you can know the location of such important places as the library, the dining room, the post office, the clinic and classrooms. Next, try to be independent. Learn to do such things as making sound decisions on how to spend your time, how to spend your money etc, and washing clothes on your own. Furthermore, form good study habits. Talk with your classmates and learn from their good habits. Finally, try to take part in all kinds of activities to get out of your solitude and get on well with your classmates.

As they are affected by the commercial ads, more and more college students pursue fashion. But they need to measure their situation.

当学生上大学了，会比以前自由很多，也有时间去做他们想做的事情。没有了学规，大学生可以穿时尚的衣服。由于他们收到了商业广告的影响，越来越多的大学生追求时尚。但是他们得要衡量要自己的情况。

On the one hand, college students have the right to pursue fashion. They are young and full of energy, it is good for them to dress out their styles. The skill to dress in different situation is the course for them to learn. They will learn how to dress in the process of pursuing fashion.

一方面，大学生有权利去追求时尚。他们年轻，充满了活力，穿出自己的风格对他们来说是好的。在不同场合的穿衣技巧是他们要学习的课程。他们会在追求时尚的过程中学习打扮技巧。

On the other hand, the crazy about fashion is not proper for them. As students, they don’t have much money, they are relying on their parents, so it is not right to spend parents’ money to pursue fashion. What’s more, students’ main duty is to study, focusing too much on fashion is not right for them.

另一方面，对时尚的狂热追求是不合适的。作为学生，他们没有很多钱，还得依靠父母，所以使用父母的钱来追求时尚是不对的。而且，学生的主要责任是学习，过度关注时尚是不对的。

大浪淘沙，经得过风浪考验的才是成动者：河蚌育珠，担得起艰难困苦的才是胜利者：万里长征，挺得住千山万水跋涉的才是开拓者：挥泪洒汗，抵得住烈日暴晒与意志考验的才是新时代的大学生。我们，这样一群20岁的风华少年用坚强和忍耐经历了高考的洗礼，情感的折磨，现在等着我们的是大学第一课—军训。我们数学与统计学院的新生一定会用最正的姿态最饱满的精神面貌迎接首长和校领导的检阅。我们，一定行!

环境改变，压力增大的时候，也是一个人成长最快的时候，在新生眼中，大学就像是一次充满挑战和刺激的旅行，有几分欣喜也有几分顾忌。但就像如今，我们选择了X大，X大选择了我们，就这样，我们翻开了人生崭新的一页。新世纪的我们，有着如此强大的队伍，确实有一个共同的目标，那就是学会认知，学会做事，学会做人。用英文说就是learning to know,learning to do,and learning to be.

学会认知,不仅要重视分类地系统知识的收获,而且要学会掌握认知的手段.学会认知,应该有意识地培养思维能力,不仅要深入学习本专业`本学科,而且要广泛涉猎其他领域.在边缘,在交叉点,有着广阔的探索空间.

学会做事,就是要理解现代社会越来越重视能力而不是资历.不仅要有专业知识,更应该具备学会适时应用专业知识的能力.学会做事,不仅要在毕业后具备从事专业工作的能力,也应该努力加强锻炼自己的创新能力.学会做事,还要求我们培养协作能力,交际能力和管理能力.

学会做人,就是要使个人素质日臻完善,让品格丰富多彩,使自己本人无论在社会、在学校扮演不同角色时都成为优秀地一员,来承担各种责任.学会做人,就是要深入了解人类地多样性,学会熟悉本人,发现他人,就是要理解不同民族，不同地域有着不同的地方文化和习俗。

每个人的成长道路不同，我所能与大家共享的只是从实践中积累的一些心得，而不是成才的模板，相信X大的每一份子就是鲜活的素材。

人的一生就是奋斗的一生!《满江红》里说得好“莫等闲，白了少年头，空悲切!”过去的努力，我们已经积淀了一定的知识和能力，只要勇敢冲刺，我们就能赢得胜利，赢得未来!

I am very happy to come here to study with you.When I arrived at this school three days ago, I fell in love with it.It is so beautiful and exciting here, and everyone is kind to me especially Kim.This class feels just like one big family to me.

There is no doubt that we should never go out there to see what happens; instead, we should take actions to make things happen. A telling example is Youyou Tu. She and her colleagues made 380 extracts from 2,00 herbs before they finally succeeded in discovering the pure substance qinghaosu, which can be used to treat malaria. As we all know, there were numerous scientists who wanted to find this substance, but it was her firm actions that made her the first Chinese Nobel laureate in medicine.

Why?Reasons are quite simple and can be listed as follows. To begin with, only by taking actions can we find the best way to solve those problems we are facing, but as a bystander, we can learn nothing meaningful. In addition, in an age full of ruthless and relentless competitions, without taking actions to make things happen, we are bound to lose those valuable opportunities. For instance, if Apple had just gone out there to see what happens in mobile phones, it could not have presented the amazing product, iPhone, to us.

Accordingly, we college students should not just be a watcher but a doer. In my humble opinion, we can start from applying what we have learned into practice.

The first time I entered the campus as a freshman, I was deeply attracted by her cultural atmosphere and historical connotation. Fudan is a graceful lady who is accustomed to serenity but meanwhile each action of hers outpours her innermost tern perament. Apparently it is worth every effort to probe into her world for the sake of both physical and mental enrichment. Her humanistic spirit inspires me to care for everything around, even the most trivial one.

On the other hand, catching up with the times, Fudan is modern and smart. You see, the many age-old buildings here are actually great libraries and labs. Scientific and technological developrnent is easily smelt in the air,because she never lags behind the world.

Our university has first-level equipment and the most experienced teachers as well as the best students. My campus activities are rich and colorful.I consider it to be a honor that Ive got a chance to study here and I sincerely hope that we can live wonderful lives in our campus!
