说实话，当我踏进这所大学的第一感觉真的与我的想象有很大区别。它给我的第一感觉就是：这里的树木多，而且种类繁多!真不愧是第一林业学院啊。第二个就是：它的占地面积并不太大，住宿环境也算不上太好的。但我的这些想法很快就被打消了。后来我从别人那里才得知。原来我们现在的宿舍条件是学校最好的，而那些学长们却还没有我们这种环境，但他们却还是一如既往的刻苦学习着，他们没有抱怨，他们只是默默的付出和学习。他们的那种精神值得我们学习和思考。他们都可以，我们为什么不能成为他们那样的人呢?虽然我们不能改变外在的环境和条件，但我们可以选择适应，环境的好坏并不能减少我们学习的热情，反而更会激励我们更加努力的学习。只要肯努力，肯付出，就会收获一份希望，要持之以恒。

一开始，我们还以为大学的生活是轻松的，但事实却不是这样。听过系主任介绍完我们所要学习的课程后，我深深的感到我们的学习任务还是很重的，并没有我们想象中的那么轻松。要想学好那几十门功课，并不是一件容易的事，需要我们拥有持之以恒的毅力和刻苦的精神。

在这三年的时间里，我们会满载而归，然后带着希望走向我们向往的社会。我们一起努力吧!

入学军训也算是最大的体会吧。每天的立正、稍息、下蹲、摆臂、踏步这些基本动作要我们反复地做着，在这短短的16天里，我们晒的很黑,尝到了酸甜苦辣,我们那套军装每天都有一层白色的盐粉，但非常有意义。我不但学到了军人的一些技能，站军姿，学会了好多首军歌。如果说我军训最大的体会我想有除了以上的难忘的故事之外就是非常想家。接着就是融入的部队的生活。可以说是我读书以来最有规律的生活作息。同时却又那么的充实。每天都有任务要完成。

军训有苦。每天早上六点半起床;从七点一直训练到十一点;烈日当空，热量逼人，挺胸收腹，我们在站军姿。汗流下来了，在身上流淌，痒痒的，但不能擦;喉咙干了，火在心中燃烧，很难受，但不能喝水;脚麻了，血在脚下集中，脑缺氧，但不能休息。一二一，向右看，踢正步，脚肿了。很多人都叫苦，但是人生何时没有苦，苦并不可怕，关键是坚持，坚持才能去克服。

China has often been criticized for the rampant practice of software piracy. Take a look around. We operate on pirated Windows systems, defend PC security with pirated Kaspersky anti-virus programmes, process files with pirated Microsoft Office, draft 3D designs with pirated AutoCAD, refine pictures with pirated Adobe Photoshop, and study English with pirated Kingsoft’s electronic dictionaries and translators. It’s no exaggeration that pirated software is everywhere。

The logic behind the phenomenon is simple and clear: if a pirated copy is available for just a tiny fraction of the normal price, not to speak of many of the free downloads online, who would pay for an authentic copy? Cheaper prices aside, easy access is another important factor. With such a large gathering of pirated upgrades around, who would bother to spend time and money searching the stores for an authorized yet outdated version?

Despite these apparent benefits, the practice of software piracy should be banned, because it represents unfair competition and by nature it’s a no-win situation. But how? 一、大学是人类文明的高地

进入大学，首先要追问大学是什么样的地方?具体而言，大学是：

(一)责任高地。大学肩负着为经济社会发展培养人才、创新知识和服务社会的重要责任。大学是人类文明的高地，也是人类近现代文明的发源地。意大利在文艺复兴之前有博罗尼亚大学;英国先有牛津、剑桥，后才有其崛起;德国19世纪末20世纪初能够成为世界科技文化的中心，跟柏林大学的建立有很大的关系;美国是先有哈佛，后有国家。美国之所以有今天，我们表面上看到是它强大的经济、军事、政治，实际上支撑它的是大学，是它强大的教育系统。我国提出“科教兴国”的发展战略。温总理在今年7月召开的全国教育工作会议上提出：强国先强教，强国必强教。蔡元培则早就说过，要看明日之社会，先看今天之校园。

大学的主要责任，也是教师的天职：就是培养人才，培养最后超过老师的人才。教师的职责，就是引导和帮助学生站在自己的肩膀上，承前启后，继往开来，超越自己，实现文化的传承、创新和发展。只有这样，大学才能卓尔不群，长盛不衰，不断为经济社会发展培养人才、建树新风。

大学生的天职就是学习，就是努力成为超越老师的学生，更好地服务国家需要和民族伟大复兴。

(二)人才高地。大学者，囊括大典，网罗众家。大学是人才最为密集的地方，也是人才成长的摇篮。哥伦比亚大学校园里有不少雕塑，其中有一尊雕塑，给我留下非常深刻的印象。这尊雕塑就是哥大赖文森广场(RevsonPlaza)的“钢丝上的行走者”(TightropeWalker)。这个雕塑有两个人，其中一个人走在钢丝上，另一个人站在他肩上。我觉得，如果把下面那个人看作教师，上面那个人当作学生，那么这个雕塑便体现了大学教育的理想：培养超越老师的学生。

培养超越老师的学生，其实也是中国大学的理想和传统。由鲁迅亲自设计的北京大学校徽与哥大的上述雕塑有异曲同工之义。它主要由“北大”这两个字用篆书构成，下面一个“大”字，像一个人，表示教师;上面是“北”字，像两个人，表示学生。两个学生背靠背，表示他们是和而不同的君子，具有独立人格，只追求真理，不互相依附，不拉关系;他们站在教师肩膀上，表示学生在老师的无私教导和帮助下站得更高，看得更远，更有作为;这三个人还构成了一种多元对话的格局，体现了一种教学相长的师生关系。所以，北大校徽是最能体现大学理想和教育精神的。孔子早在二千多年前就曾发出“后生可畏，焉知来者之不如今也?”的感叹，认为年轻学子是值得敬畏的，怎能断定他们将来赶不上老师呢?韩愈在《师说》中讲到，“弟子不必不如师，师不必贤于弟子。”陶行知则说：“教师的成功是创造出值得自己崇拜的人，先生之最大的快乐，是创造出值得自己崇拜的学生。”这都实际上寄托了培育超过教师的学生的教育理想。

令人欣慰的是，在湛江师范学院漫长的发展历史当中，曾经涌现众多卓越人才，他们都是以天下为己任的杰出代表。如学校前身——雷阳书院，曾为广东六大书院之一。它的三位著名山长(古时称校长为山长)：陈瑸、陈昌齐、陈乔森。也就是我们说的“三陈”。陈瑸、陈昌齐均为进士;陈乔森为咸丰年间举人，被誉为“岭南才子”。他们做官清正廉洁，勤政爱民，功勋卓著;做学问则勤谨笃实，以身垂范，学者楷模。还有谭平山，曾任雷州中学校长，是广东党组织最早创始人，时有“南谭北李(李大钊)中陈(陈独秀)”之誉。还有广东农民运动著名领导人黄学增、南路优秀女共产党员欧汝颖、粤桂边区纵队副司令员唐才猷等杰出代表。

湛师培育过不少超过老师的优秀学生。如今天坐在主席台的一些教授，就毕业于本校的前身雷州师专，当时学校一个教授也没有。不少毕业生考上北大、复旦、人大、南大、北师大、中大等名校的研究生。仅今年就有137名毕业生考上研究生。

(三)精神高地。梁英书记说过，大学不仅要有大楼、大树，还要有大师、大气。从最高境界上来说，真正的大学，是无形的大学，是精神的大学，是能凝聚和产生大师的大学。有了高远的精神境界，有了一流的教师，哪怕没有高楼大厦，也可能成为一所高水平大学。所以，大学首先要有高远的精神境界，成为精神高地。才能使大学不仅仅停留在“形”和“体”的层面，而进入“神”和“灵”的境界。在这一精神高地上，我们探索人类精神生产、传承和创新的秘密，与人类最杰出的大脑和最高尚动人的灵魂相遇，争取那熠熠光辉，照亮自己的人生，然后把这些秘密和光辉与他人分享，传承发扬下去。

同学们考上湛师，不必自卑。家庭经济贫困，也不必自卑。大学是追求真理、崇尚学术的精神高地。在这里，不是比官大，也不是比钱多，而是比谁的志气大、用功多、学问高。在这里，过的需要艰苦付出的寂寞生活。洪堡说过，寂寞是大学精神的特质之一。易卜生则认为：“世界上最有力量的人是最孤独的人。”在大学高地上，可以了望世界，展望未来，通过与高人接触，知彼而知己，确立自己的人生使命，为做最好的自己奠基铺路。这是很幸运的。正如奥地利作家斯蒂芬•茨威格所说：“一个人生命中最大的幸运，莫过于在他人生中途，即年富力强时发现自己生活的使命。”站在这一高地上的人们，可以让一切都变得意义非凡。甚至连贫穷都拥有珍贵的价值。与青春和智慧相比，金钱、地位、美酒、佳肴都微不足道。在这一高地上，即使身无分文，也可以孕育希望!

二、立足大学高地，努力成为超过老师的学生

如何努力成为超过老师的学生?我以为，树立“责任以行，能力为重，创新是魂”的理念，并付诸于行动是关键所在。

(一)责任以行

社会学家戴维斯就曾说过，“放弃了自己的责任，就意味着放弃了自身在这个社会中更好的生存机会。”我站在这个讲台，最真切的感受，除了迎新的喜悦，更多的是一种责任。面对众多渴望求知、立志成才的学生，我深感作为一名校长的责任之重。同学们上大学，要学的东西很多，首先应该学会负责，成为一名负责任的人。每个人都要对自己和亲朋负责、对工作和单位负责、对国家和民族负责。责任以行，就是永不放弃自己做人、做事、做学问的责任。

责任以行，也意味着宽容和担当。同学们从今天起就成为湛师大家庭的正式一员。对学校的平安和谐、创新发展都负有不可推卸的责任，有责任和义务协助学校克服各种困难，共同推动学校发展。我曾邀请全国劳模、韶钢首席技术专家罗东元给大学生作讲座，他说，“上苍安排每个人都有一次做人的机会，就要尽心地体验做人的责任，享受其过程。要热爱工作、享受工作。我在工作中遇到太多问题，有时逼得走投无路，但我认为，这时候离问题解决就不远了。什么叫成功?成功在于坚持，成功就是尽自己最大的努力，尽自己最大的责任，积累能量，然后集中释放出来。”

我校师生中也有很多“责任以行”的榜样。1935年，雷州省立师范学校时期的吴炳宋校长，就把教育事业与国家命运联系起来，明确指出“民族之兴亡，基于教育之盛衰”，希望“师范教育普及高雷，泽流所被，漫衍全粤”。我前天在新生接待现场，遇到送儿子来报到的一家人，爷爷、父母和儿子四人。爷爷、父母亲都是中小学的教师，父亲还是校长。爷爷、父亲都曾是湛师的学生，现在儿子也成为湛师的学生。我认为这在某种程度上可以看作是这个家庭对湛师的一种情怀和对教育的一份责任。法政学院的庞天佑教授，大年三十也一如平日，坚持读书搞研究;化学院的高利军博士，2008年来校工作以来，不曾回过家乡，不论寒暑假还是星期六日，几乎天天待在实验室搞研究，32岁就拿到了国家自然科学基金课题。还有郑光华老教师、谭笑老教师，我们经常可以看到他们在校园里与学生交谈辅导的身影，无私地把自己的时间、生命智慧奉献给学生。还有今天作为校友代表发言的附中党总支书记、特级教师梁哲同志，等等。正是有这些对事业、对学生高度负责的老师，湛师才能培养出许多优秀的学子。

(二)能力为重

一个人要真正有所担当，真正能负起责任，就必须有能力，即要有丰富的知识和过硬的本领。这里的“能力”，是一个建立在扎实的知识基础上的“能力群”。包含学习能力、思考能力、实践能力、组织能力和创新能力等。不同的行业所要求的能力是不一样的，不同的专业培养的能力规格也有所不同。同学们进入大学，最重要的是不能放松学习、不能放松思考、不能放松行动。能力的形成靠学习和实践积累。那应该如何学习呢?

1、要学会在“三个世界”里学习

一是书本世界。通过阅读书籍等增长知识，尤其要精读经典名著。二是经验世界。要培养能力，就要主动实践、积极锻炼。三是虚拟世界。现在是网络时代、E时代，网络上有海量的资讯，为我们学习提供了很多材料。网络已经成为我们学习生活的非常重要的部分，影响着我们的认知方式和知识结构。我们要充分利用现代信息技术的便利来促进学习和研究。

2、要掌握三种学习方式

自主学习。真正的教育必然是自我教育。与中学相比，大学提供了更多的自由与选择的空间。这里所强调的是“我要学”，而不是“要我学”。同学们要从被动学习转变自主学习;要学会综合分析、独立思考，学会选择，有所守有所放，有所为有所不为。一味追求热点或时髦，人会失去自我和尊严。不要让你的大脑成为他人思想的“跑马场”。

合作学习。“独学而无友，则孤陋而寡闻。”今天，单打独斗已难以适合社会和工作的要求。同学们来自全国各地，有着不同的成长背景、性格特点、思维方式和行为方式等，这是一笔丰厚的精神文化资源。同学们要充分发掘和利用自己同伴的精神文化资源，互相学习、合作学习，提高学习效益，培养合作共事的能力。

体验学习。实践出真知。体验的过程是学生掌握知识、生成能力，学会思考，学会与经验世界接触的一个综合过程，是培养动手能力和创新能力的一个不可或缺的环节。做科学实验、参加专业社团活动、参加社会实践活动、专业实习等，都是体验学习。

以上三种学习方式，加起来便是：读万卷书，行万里路，交八方友。

3、要把握三个重点进行学习

一是做人、做事、做学问的基础。著名教育家南国农先生给我们的深刻启示是，做人，对己而言，要做第一流的人物。做最好的自己。要多读书、读好书、勤读书，打出扎实的理论基础，优化知识结构;对他人多一点尊重和宽容，少一点苛求责备;对社会多一点奉献，少一点索取。第二个重点是“前沿”。我们要了解理论尤其是实践前沿的新成果、新技术和新手段。不断更新知识、掌握新技术。第三个重点就是“特色”。要有特长，要扬长避短，个性发展，这样才可能有创新。

(三)创新为魂

建设创新型国家，需要创新型人才。同学们要以一种创新的精神、研究的态度和负责的行动，不断为家庭、母校、社会和祖国奉献力量和智慧。当前，学校提出建设鲜明特色的高水平师范院校的发展新目标，判断学校是否高水平的一个很重要的表征，就是其培养的学生是否有创新精神、出色的能力和卓越的成就。

创新是一个探索未知的艰辛却又有趣味的过程，需要勤奋和专一。要把创新作为自己做事、做学问的价值取向和工作习惯。

作为院长，我将与同事们一起，致力于为学生提供更多的学习机会和资源。如我们将筹建教师教育创新班，对一批立志从教、学习优秀的学生进行重点培养;我们着力构筑现代教育技术高地，为同学在虚拟世界里学习提供平台;筹建教育研究院，并以此为平台吸引教育名家和中小学的优秀校长、特级教师来校讲学辅导，让同学们与名家名师近距离接触，了解最前沿的思想和信息;创造更多的机会让同学们到国内外进行体验学习，拓展专业视野，增长专业知识和能力，等等。让你们成为负责任、有能力、能创新的高素质应用型人才。

Should College Graduates Start Their Own Business?

With the competition in the job market becoming increasingly fierce for college graduates， some ambitious students have tried their hands at launching their own businesses. Over the years， there have been many successful cases of student entrepreneurship and such attempts should be encouraged and promoted by both the universities and the society at large.

College students who start businesses are pioneers， among whom will be born China’s future business leaders. Faced with unknown challenges， they are audacious enough to embark on a perilous journey while most of their peers enjoy stable salaries by working as white-collars at high-end office buildings. Nevertheless， they are the masters of their own destiny and， exposed to many more uncertainties and setbacks， they develop perseverance， stamina and the indomitable spirit that are indispensible to all the great entrepreneurs. Even if they fail， they are not down; they keep exploring for new business opportunities and work tirelessly until they succeed. As people of vision， of individual initiative， of leadership， and of creativity and innovation， they represent the future and the hope of a nation.

Not all college graduates are suitable for undertaking entrepreneurial projects. To launch a business， one needs to have a sound business idea， a viable business plan， the charisma to create a cohesive team where members make concerted efforts for a common objective， effective managerial skills， and above all， the courage to compete against powerful rivals and ultimately to prevail. The essential difference between the students who become civic servants in government organizations or employees at leading domestic or multinational companies and those who create their own businesses is that the former are docile followers whereas the latter are aggressive trailblazers. For this reason， business-launching college graduates are more admirable， and thus they command our deep respect.

After completing my military service, I have been looking for a challenging goal for me to achieve. And I found that the Intermediate of General English Proficiency Test fits my new achievement properly.I graduated from Taipei Commercial Junior College, majored in business administration. Instead of spending much time in playing, I devoted myself to my studies and paid attention to all meaningful things happened in daily life. By the way, I learned a lot from Mr. Wang, the professor of my business class. It is a fact that college is becoming more and more expensive and college life is becoming especially hard for the students who were born in needy families. However, there are several ways in which these students can cover their tuition that their parents are not able to afford. Finding a part-time job, for example, is an ideal way. Besides, one can ask the bank for a loan and repay it when he has the ability. Finally, one can seek assistance from the society.

For me, earning tuition by doing part-time jobs is the most suitable way. First, I learn to be independent both mentally and economically in this way. Apart from this, I no longer need to wor-ry my parents with so heavy a burden. Finally, since I earn my own living, I will be more confi-dent with myself and, therefore, I can live a busy but meaningful college life.

a new year ,a new start, when i stand on the edge of the a new year, i cant help thinking about my plan of next year. just as the old saying:well began is the half of the success.so i decide that i should be at work while the others are still relaxing ,and then ,at the beginning ,im quicker than the others and of course i will get better result than the others. but ,what i really decide to do is that i must make good of anytime i can spare though it seems impossible. while, i will do my best to live up with what i have planned, and the result will prove it.
