这里所指的云，是低压区里的低云。低压是自西向东的（实际上往往是自西南向东北移动）。云往西，说明该地处于低压前部，本地将因低压移来而降雨；云往东，说明低压已经移过本地，本地处于低压后部，天气即将转晴，转晴之前常常要刮一阵风。

“云钩向那方，风由那方来”

云钩指的是钩卷云的尾部，出现在高空，有时上端有小钩，也有排列成行的。上端小钩所指，是高空风的方向，而高空风往往又与地面相联，所以根据云钩方向大体可测知风的来向。

出自清人李光庭的《乡言解颐》，李光庭这样解释，他说，清明前后半月，吴俗都有“标插坟墓”的习俗，用纸钱配挂在上面，称为“寓钱”。它既不是金的也不是铜的，为什么却称为金钱、铜钱呢，这主要是用来表达哀思者的孝心。挂在清明之前，说明孝思深厚是最可珍贵的，其钱虽不是真的金钱却胜似金钱;挂在清明之后，说明孝薄而不值得提倡，这钱不是金的而是铜的了。

2， 清明不带柳，来生变黄狗。

出自清人潘荣升《帝京岁时纪胜》。到了清明的这一天，人人都会佩戴新折的柳条出门踏青、扫墓。妇女们会把这些柳条插在头发上，而男人们又总是把柳戴在衣襟上或用柳圈戴在头上，唐玄宗曾经说过这一天戴柳“可免虿毒”。这个谚语从另一个方面说明了当时没有一个人不配戴的柳条的，因为不配戴，来生是要变成黄狗的，很戏谑的说明了事实。

3， 清明不戴柳，红颜成皓首。

这条谚语与上一条意思相近，但有点儿雅了，像是经过了文人的改造，所以在一些著作中流传更广，出于明代田汝成的《熙朝乐事》，清明这一天，谁要是不戴柳的话，小孩子也会变成老头了。如在清人顾铁卿的《清嘉录》卷三，“三月，插杨柳”条目下，这条言语被增加了一个字，成了“清明不戴杨柳，红颜成皓首”。

4，清明不拆絮，到老没成器。

这个谚语出自清人王有光的《吴下谚语》卷二。它的意思是说，到了清明，春这个季节已经过了一半，夏天在逐渐的来到，棉被、裤需要拆洗了，让太阳晒掉里面一个冬天的阴气。春天是个很让人困顿的季节，很容易使人养成娇惰的性情，这些对于一个人来说“都是晏安鸩毒”，不振作起来是成不了大器的，到老也没什么出息。

5， 清明断雪，谷雨断霜。

这条在卷十一“农事，占候”条目下。徐光启说道，二月最怕夜雨，如果晚上是晴的，即使雨多，也没有什么妨碍，如果有十个夜晚以上下雨，乡下人都会叫苦连天了。初四下雨，叫做春水。初八前后，一定有风雨。因此他引用了这条谚语，意在说明天气的自然规律，天气是逐渐暖和起来了。这条谚语还出现在清人梁章钜的《农候杂占》、明人徐应秋的《玉芝堂谈荟》里。
