今天我又来到了中心广场，见到了我熟悉的龙雕像，和小巧玲珑的鸽子。回到家我就查关于他们的资料，我从中学到了更多的知识。

龙是中国的象征，炎黄子孙是龙的传人。龙在中国人的心中具有太多的内涵和独特的感情。三组图案（蛙壳龙、虎和古人架）在学术上有重要的历史，艺术和科学价值，成为龙乡也让濮阳人为之骄傲。

因为在1986年，在濮阳出土拿距今6400多年的珍贵文物蚌塑龙形图案，把中华民族5000年文明史向前推进了1400多年，被国内外考古界誉为“中华第一龙，”因此，中华炎黄文化研究会据此命名濮阳为“龙乡”。

另一幅照片是鸽子。鸽子，是一种十分常见的鸟，鸽呢鸽形目鸠鸽科数百种鸟类的统称。我们平常所说的鸽子只是鸽属中的一种，而且是家鸽，家鸽中最常见的是信鸽，主要用于通讯和竟翔。鸽子和人类办居已经有上千年的历史，考古学家发现的第一幅鸽子图像，来自于公元前3000年的美索不达米亚，也就是伊拉克。

鸽子人类昂科已经有5000多年的历史，形成不少形状各异的品种。鸽子具有很好的导航能力，他能在飞出很远的地方都能安全地回到家。一支比赛冠军鸽子可以在一天之内从400到600英里之外回到家里，而这一惊人的能力并不限于赛鸽回这是家鸽，所有的鸽子都拥有返回栖息的能力。

牛津大学一份十年的研究报告指出各自使用道路，高速公路等进行导航，其他的理论认为鸽子是通过地球磁场、地标，甚至次声进行导航。现在他在新中国中而且是和平的象征。无论真相是什么都让鸽子成为特殊鸟类。

照片里的世界让我改变了平时的看法，他不单单是照片而且还能记录很多历史，让我明白知识可以从各方面收集发现而来。

两年前，我曾满不情愿的被老爸塞进了一个作文班，作文班兼讲些古诗文和课外阅读，大概算是培养文学兴趣，所谓陶冶情操，可是我却满心烦躁不满，心中常常忽的涌起一股无名火，且是愈烧愈烈，心中一，自然也就听不进课，像听天书一般，半梦半醒的挺过一节一节课，任凭老师的话语从耳边流过。更可恶的是，每节课还有背古诗词的作业，我积攒着怒火。

直到有一次，我考出了一个令人震惊的低分，我心灰意冷，居然听了一节课，这可是头一次。听着老师充满磁性的低声，我竟被吸引了，老师所讲的那首诗正是颜真卿的《劝学》：三更灯火五更鸡，正是男儿读书时，黑发不知勤学早，白首方悔读书迟。这次，我被打动了，时光疾行，韶华易逝，用青春的拼搏，绽放生命的精彩。

从此，我似乎品出了知识的甜美，如蜂蜜一样的贪婪地获取知识，好似吸取甘露。每天，虽然时间紧迫，但我坚信鲁迅先生的话：“时间就像海绵里的水，只要愿挤，总还是有的。”每天坚持挤出一个小时用来认真地读书。同时，我也品出了古诗词的美妙之处，每天不读上两首古诗，便觉得空虚、寂寞。苏东坡诗云：“腹有诗书气自华”。在语文课上，我也不仅仅干涩地回答问题，而能引用或凭借读过的诗词名著把问题看到、想到一个更深远的层次。

为了明天的阳光，为了知识奋斗吧，努力吧！知识是力量，是财富，是希望。知识的魅力只会被热爱它的人发现，当你正视它时，会感到全身满是神圣的力量。因为，这就是真的力量，善的力量，美的力量。

血，一听到这个字，估计大部分同学都会毛骨悚然吧！可是对于我而言，那小小的针头一点也不可怕。因为我从小见惯了妈妈用针给别人抽血。但今天我却着实还是被有点吓到了————

早上细雨朦朦，我有幸跟着妈妈走进了神秘的大润发献血屋。我亲眼目睹了医生姐姐用快有我小指头粗般的针头一下扎进了一位叔叔的血管里。这可是我第一次看到这么粗的针头，不勉鸡皮疙瘩都起来了。只见汩汩鲜血不断从管子里流出来，流到一只像袋装牛奶般大的献血袋子里。很快就装满了一袋。听医生姐姐说，这些袋子有200亳升、300毫升、400亳升的。一个人被抽这么多血，血会被抽干吗？这太恐怖了。这些血被抽出来干吗用的呢？

医生姐姐给我们上了一堂严谨的医学课。原来用正常的人血经过检测和处理后可以输入到某些病人体内，可以挽救病人的生命。哇，这么神奇！我也想去帮助有需要的人。可是医生姐姐说我们还小，要成年后才能献，而且要身体健康。从现在开始我要好好吃饭，锻炼身体，长大后也要加入光荣的献血队伍，把自己的血奉献给他人。

每一位献血者都是我们的榜样，我们的英雄。其实献血并不可怕，也不会对身体造成不良反应。为了那些生病的、生命垂危的人，请伸出我们的援手。

不必再多想那地动山摇之景，暂且说说有些感动却令人温暖的。

一个妇人看着自己的孩子被救出，跪在废墟上，不知磕头了几次，痛苦不已，泪光婆娑有一个经历了两次地震的人，先是汶川，后来在青海玉树做生意赶上地震。不必说他是不幸的，那些朴实而伟大的人们足以让人掉泪。

眼泪不是奢侈品，却于那滴滴闪耀之中折射人性的光辉。

每个人都会哭得淅沥哗啦吧，心之忧伤。

香港打工仔阿福的故事令我印象深刻。为什么会有一个特殊的意义？因为他是阿福，是香港人。印象中的那个大厦林立，奢侈豪华，崇拜生活的城市中的人。在玉树这样一个地方，做了一件这样的事。玉树并非汶川，没有林浩，没有可乐男孩，没有敬礼男孩，只有那个喂奶的护士，和浙江小学结对的扎西文次。但这些已经足够了。这里的人们大多是藏民，因为语言交流障碍，那些温暖的文字我们所记下的并不多，然而所有人面对灾难都会有的温和、温暖、和谐却于青海人民之中所觅得，它们早已令我们难以忘怀。因为远离繁华城市，这里的人们往往单纯极了，你对它们哪怕是一丁点的给予，他们都会不停地感谢你。哪怕有一点点的奢求他们也会像一个害羞的姑娘轻轻地对你说一句：天气有点冷，还想多一些被子。

令我最难忘的是孩子。在玉树，有一所孤儿学校，里面就有156个孩子，他们从小就没了爸爸妈妈，大多来自玉树偏远的山区。地震中他们失去了校园，但庆幸的是，这156个孤儿孩子，没有一个因这场突如其来的灾难而离开。他们坚强而乐观地活着，为复课而不断积极忙碌着。

我知道，遥远的玉树会美丽依然，书声与牧歌会再次飘扬。

我想说，当我们在哀悼时，我们情感的共鸣并非只是悲伤，更是坚强。

苦难终将过去，哀思也会沉入记忆。好好活下去!

An earthquake is a tremor of the earths surface usually triggered by the release of underground stress along fault lines. This release causes movement in masses of rock and resulting shock waves. In spite of extensive research and sophisticated equipment, it is impossible to predict an earthquake, although experts can estimate the likelihood of an earthquake occurring in a particular region.

In 1935, American seismologist (地震学家) Charles Richter developed a scale that measures the magnitude of seismic waves. Called the Richter scale, it rates earth tremors on a scale from 1 to 9, with 9 being the most powerful and each number representing an increase of ten times the energy over the previous number. According to this scale, any quake that is higher than 4.5 can cause damage to stone buildings; quakes rated a magnitude of 7 and above are considered very severe. A less-known scale, the Mercalli scale (麦氏震级), was devised by Italian seismologist Giuseppe Mercalli to measure the severity of an earthquake in terms of its impact on a particular area and its inhabitants and buildings.

Some earthquakes are too small to be felt but can cause movement of the earth, opening up holes and displacing rocks. Shock waves from a very powerful earthquake can trigger smaller quakes hundreds of miles away from the epicenter. Approximately 1,000 earthquakes measuring 5.0 and above occur yearly. Earthquakes of the greatest intensity happen about once a year and major earthquakes (7.0-7.9) occur about 18 times a year. Strong earthquakes (6.0-6.9) occur about 10 times a month and moderate earthquakes (5.0-5.9) happen more than twice daily. Most earthquakes are not even noticed by the general public, since they happen either under the ocean or in unpopulated areas. 以及地磁、地电、重力等地球物理异常，地下水位、水化学、动物的异常行为等。

地震中逃生十大法则：

1、为了自身与家人的人身安全，要躲在桌子等坚固家具的下面，若在没有桌子等可供藏身的场合，无论如何，也要用座垫等保护好头部。

2、摇晃时立刻关火，失火时立刻灭火。

3、不要慌张向户外跑。

4、将门打开，确保出口，平时就要事先想好，万一被关屋子里，如何逃脱的方法，准备好梯子、绳索等。

5、户外的场合，要保护好头部，避开危险之处。

6、在百货公司等公共场所时，依工作人员的指示行动，在发生地震、火灾时，不能使用电梯，万一在乘电梯时遇到地震，将操作盘上各楼层的按钮全部按下，一旦停下，迅速离开电梯确认安全后避难。

7、汽车靠路边停车，管辖区域禁止行驶。

8、务必注意山崩，断崖落石或海啸。

9、避难时要徒步，携带物品应带最少限度。

10、不要听信谣言，不要轻举妄动。

今天下午第二节课变成了英华小学培养消防知识的课，我至今为止还未接触过消防知识呢。

开始了学校请来了消防部教官——侯海豹教官，教官让我们知道了是什么引起的火灾、着火了该如何逃离、怎么是用灭火器的方法，我们还观看了很多惨遭不幸的人。

看完电视，校长就下了通知，让我们开始演习，我们把外套脱掉捂住口鼻就猛的往外跑，我们三千六百余名学生尽管是非常努力了，但还是有非常多的不足之处，这在讲话上让侯教官说得非常到位。

我看完电视，演习过后，我感想到：火灾真是可怕：它危害到人的生命和我们人类的财产，火灾并不可怕，现在有非常多种方法都可以制止，可惜放在身边的先进灭火器不用，非要用老掉牙的扑，唉，现在人类的消防意识真是低到家了，各种各样的设备都能防御住，在视频中曾讲过在一场火中的人死了很多很多，就剩下了一位老太太，她是穿戴上了外国留学生女儿的防火服，才保了一命还保财产，可见会用设备的才能保住命和财产。

期盼已久的秋游终于来临，可同学们好像并不是特别开心，为什么呢？原来大家都在为天气发愁呢！今天早上起来时，我看见窗外飘着濛濛细雨，心情一落千丈。心想，今天这鬼天气真不给力啊。到校没多久，雨公公仿佛知道了我们的心声，慢慢的雨停了。同学们的脸上个个露出了笑脸，蹦蹦跳跳地坐上大巴车，来到了我们此次秋游的目的地——浙江省科技馆。

科技馆共分为三层，一楼主要讲了自然气象和人们探索宇宙奥秘的过程；二楼主要讲了人工智能，有机器人、监控等等；三楼主要是体验区。同学们有序的参观，在三楼体验过程中，还发生了一件很有趣的事情：在体验“登陆月球”这个项目时，因为每次只能限坐6人，不知为什么，轮到我们这组进去的时候来了7人，最后一个进来的张亦辰只能站在一旁，被我们亲切地称为“管家”，他在整个过程中帮我们拿背包，程子轩还跟他开玩笑说：”管家，来一瓶可乐。“当模拟到月球爆炸时，张亦辰发现了紧急逃身按钮，他焦急的喊到：“快按紧急逃身按钮，快按紧急逃身按钮！”我们哈哈大笑。体验区还有许多好玩的项目：万花筒、手动发电风扇、方轮车……

其中最好玩的就要属于方轮车了。说起方轮车，故名思意，就是方形轮子的车。规则要求身高需达到1·5米的同学才能体验，通过双脚踩动踏板骑行来让它前进，更可恶的是，设计的路都是凹凸不平，很容易卡住，一圈骑下来两腿发麻，气喘吁吁。

这次秋游让我记忆犹新，在体验中收获了新知，提高了综合能力，养成了良好的习惯，让我受益匪浅。

阿曼达见了，想：父亲曾对我说过无论发生了什么，他总会跟我在一起。于是，阿曼达对大家说：“请大家别害怕，我父亲一定会来救我们的，因为他对我说过不能发生什么，他总会跟我在一起。”一个男孩反驳道：“不可能，你父亲要来早就来啦！”阿曼达接着说：“她不会骗我的。”大家听了，都把目光投向阿曼达等着他爸爸来救大家。

我三个小时，六个小时，十个小时，二十个小时过去了……同学们等得不耐烦了，对阿曼达说：“阿曼达，为什么你父亲还没有来，难道你是骗我的么的吗。”阿曼达说：“请大家相信我，再等一会儿行吗？”时间一分一秒的过去了，他们没有吃的，没有喝的，但他们仍在坚持，因为他们相信阿曼达。

做个有教养的人，要有爱心、知廉耻。在车上主动让座给老人和孩子；看到纸屑要弯下腰，将它拾起并送到它该去的地方。做个有教养的人，要知廉耻。不以小偷小摸为炫耀的资本，要学会审视自己。

做个有教养的人，要知礼节，懂礼貌。中华民族是个讲究礼仪的民族。大到待人接物，小到穿衣吃饭，无不体现出中华民族的涵养。你是否因为在校的不顺心，而回到家里向父母发火？你是否因为别的同学的吃穿用度比自己好，而抱怨父母？有的话，请向父母说声：“对不起”，不要让他们伤心。学会尊重长辈，你要深知没有他们就没有你。

My name is li hua, and the most impressive thing of my life came to my life yesterday. When I walked near by a lake with my friend, he was falling into the lake, and I was so worried. I didt know how to swim, but I had to save my friends live. I was shouting and asking someone to help.

After that, the most impressive thing happened which was a young solder that jump into the lake without thinking, swimmed to the palace where my friend were, and got him out of the lake. After the young solder checked if there was nothing wrong with my friend, he went away. In conclusion, this young solder is the one who i respect a lot!

i know that your iamily is not rich. so your parents can t afford to buy you something of famous brands, which makes you unhappy. but they have sent you to school so that you can receive good education and have abreght future. this is not easy for your parents. so you should think about your parents. dont ask for something that is out of your parents reach. don t be vain-glorious.

MCEA (Maywood Chinese Education Association). Your letter clearly articulates

all the major reasons children in Maywood will benefit from studying the Chinese

language as part of their elementary school education. It provides invaluable

support that will help making bilingual Chinese education a reality in Maywood

Although MCEA would like to see Palo Alto public schools implement the

first bilingual Chinese kindergarten class in September of 2006, we have learned

that the school district must take the time to understand how a new program will

overseas students every year, and I am writing to enquire about the application

I am at present a student at Mary High School, Hong Kong, where I have been

studying for the past five years. I passed the Hong Kong Certificate of

Education Examination last year with distinctions in English and History, and

credits in Economics and English Literature. My advanced-level subjects are

History, Economics and English Literature. In addition to these subjects, "Use

of English" is also a compulsory subject because a pass in English is a minimum

requirement for admission to most faculties of the University of Hong Kong.

Apart from academic work, I have been actively involved in extra-curricular
