number of buildings would have to be pulled down.Some buildings are too old and

I like to watch movie so much, because I can learn a lot of things. Comedy

of friends. A humorous person is always favored by all, as he can bring

我的家里养了一只可爱的小白兔，我给小白兔取了一个名字，叫做“白白”。

I am a December 2003 graduate from the University of San Francisco (USF) with a bachelors degree in International Business. As part of my career planning, I am very interested in supplementing my international business education with a basic knowledge of the Chinese language. This I hope will help me enter into business commerce with business organizations partnering with Chinas economic development.

I already have information from BLCU and hope to study there for at least one full year starting with this summers program continuing through the fall and spring semester 2006. Can your office advise me if such scholarships might be available to me?

I have been studying Chinese for one year now. I am not sure what level I belong to. I was told that there will be an HSK test in our university in September. I am planning to attend the test. But I dont know if the result of the test is recognized by your university. If so, can it be a help for me to apply for the scholarship?

莫高窟，俗称千佛洞。果真如此，在去莫高窟的途中，那丘体上布满密密麻麻的石洞，有方的，有圆的，大小不一。

莫高窟始建于十六国时期，因僧人乐尊路经此山，忽见金光，如现万佛，便在这儿开凿了第一个洞窟，叫“漠高窟”，意为沙漠的高处，因漠与莫通用，便称莫高窟。

莫高窟有735个洞窟，但我们只参观七八个。第一个窟，是148号窟，既有壁画又有佛像，是李大宾家庭开凿修建的一个大型涅槃窟。

那是一尊卧佛，少说也有二十几米长。他脸上的表情十分安详，眼角触碰着，似乎没有完全闭上眼睛，鼻子在轻轻翕动，仿佛在轻轻呼吸；嘴巴轻轻抿着，似乎会不时抽动一下嘴角，整个卧佛活灵活现。他的身上站着他的七十二弟子，表情各异，栩栩如生。

有的洞窟没有佛像，有的佛像已残缺不全。一个个洞窟看得我们眼花缭乱。接着，我们参观第一大佛。这佛有九层楼高，是一尊哈哈大笑、挺着大肚子的弥勒，正正地端坐着。

佛像，是先搭架子再填草，最后用颜料染色。壁画是在石墙上用颜料染色。由于矿物质颜料里有铅，时间一长就变成了棕黑色。

这些佛像已经不是简单的观赏品了，它们也是有生命的，它们的生命是漫长而永恒的。因为它们肩负着中华文明传承的重任。

我们来到这儿，就是为了听故事、探历史、寻文化。我感慨中华文明的渊远与博大精深，上下几千年的历史，全部浓缩在几十个洞窟里，浓缩在佛像、飞天与讲述故事的图案中，它们无不在向大家诉说一段段曾经辉煌、灿烂的过往。

这是一个雪后的早晨，我像往常一样背好书包上学去了。

刚一走出大门，就看到外面一片银白：树叶上的雪像小婴儿似的缩在叶子里，屋檐上的雪在阳光的照耀下闪闪发光，路面上的雪像是一条洁白的大地毯。这场景美极了，可是天却是异常的冷，人们都捂着耳朵小跑起来，我也还是快点儿走吧。

走到广场旁边时，我忍不住朝旁边的马路瞥了一眼。因为我知道有一处路面凹凸不平，即使平时也有人不小心会摔倒，雪后就更不敢想象了，今天会不会也有自行车在那儿滑倒呢？

我定睛一看，那儿不但没有车子滑倒，而且雪被扫掉了！顺着路朝前看，一整条马路竟全被扫干净了！是谁这么好心？我好奇地绕到另一条路上，很想知道这位好心人是谁。

我远远地看见一个廋弱的身影正拿着一个简陋的工具用力地铲着雪，我走近一看，那竟是一位老爷爷。他的头发已经花白了，布满皱纹的手被冻得通红。他停下来，把双手放在嘴前，用嘴中呼出白色的气暖暖手，然后又立即拿起工具干起来……

我呆呆地看着，老爷爷的举动温暖了这个雪后的早晨。虽然那位老人的脸我没有看见，但他的背影却永远刻在我的心上。

瞧，镜子里那个大眼睛、蘑菇头、身材苗条的小美女是谁？

这个小美女一会温柔一会严厉，谁也摸不透她的真实脾气。一次，一个低年级的小妹妹摔倒了，大哭起来。她连忙跑过去，安慰小妹妹说：“不要哭了，哭是解决不了问题的。我扶你去医务室上点药，伤口一会就不疼了。”可是在家里，她的弟弟摔倒了，她却会大声呵斥：“你已经是二年级的学生了，摔倒了不会自己爬起来吗？你难道不知道哭是解决不了问题的吗？哭什么哭，自己站起来去拿药抹抹去！”

这个小美女不仅脾气多变，性格也是多变的。“静若处子，动若疯兔”这句话拿来形容她再恰当不过了。你瞧，下课的时候，她坐在座位上看书，风把她的头发微微撩起，书页轻轻翻动，发出微弱地“哗哗”的声音。她那大大的眼睛慢慢地眨着。她专心致志看书的情景是多么的美丽啊。而她的另一种性格，是无法用词来形容的。她可以绕操场跑三圈，也可以连跳二百个跳绳不说一声累。她玩的时候，阳光洒在脸上，头发随着运动有节奏的摆动着，脚触到地上不时地发出重重的“嘭”声。那模样，那情景，要多活泼就多活泼，要多可爱就多可爱， 要调皮就多调皮。

嘿，我说了这么多，你知道她是谁了吗？呵，那可不就是我嘛！

I noticed an ad. In the paper today you said you were looking for people to join your expedition team. It sounded as if it might be fun so Im writing to say Id like to come along.

About myself: I left school at 16 because I wanted to earn a bit of money. After that I got a few part-time jobs as a waiter, etc. But I didnt stick to any of them for long. Recently Ive been doing a bit of hitch-hiking round Europe so Ive had some experience of traveling the hard way which should come in handy on the expedition youre planning. By the way, Im a great guitarist so I can keep you all amused round the campfire at night.

Let me know when I can call in for a chat about dates and other details, etc.

Summer comes after spring. It is the hottest season in the year. It often rains, sometimes It rains quite heavily. Everything grows very quickly.

Dear Sir,

I am writing to apply for a British Council scholarship to study in Britain. I did my five years basic training in medicine at Shanghai University. After this I successfully completed a one-year postgraduate course in Ophthalmology at the Peoples General Hospital, where I am at present serving a two-year probation in the Eye Clinic.

As a result of the publication in 2003 of my article in New Scientist entitled "Soft and Rigid Contact Lenses ", which was based on a survey of 37 patients over 6 months, I made contact with Dr. Li Ming of the Capital Hospital and Dr. Ma Li of the University College Hospital. I have received their help and advice with my current research project, which is a two-year survey of the acceptance of various types of contact lenses in 200 patients.

Despite their help, I feel that I cannot make real progress in this field unless I can actually have day-to-day contact with these specialists. I would therefore like to continue my research at either the Capital Hospital or the UCH as soon as my probationary period here is completed, and I would like to study in Britain for two years.

I enclose a detailed curriculum vitae and an offprint of my article, together with two letters of recommendation from Dr. Li Ming and Dr. Ma Li.

记得那是很早以前的事情。我家有一只小狗非常可爱，一身毛茸茸的，像一个毛线团。可是在一天，风雨交加的晚上，它在泥泞的土里打滚。回到家后，它弄得狼狈不堪，看着它那狗样儿，顿时，有点想发笑，我心里想：自己还笑它那，如果换做别人，别人会怎样想？不行，不行，我决不能让这种事情发生。我的脸面哪存呀！于是，我暗暗地决定要在一个阳光明媚的日子洗一次澡。

第二天，阳光明媚，我在院子里自言自语地说：“今天，阳光真灿烂，我可以打乒乓球了。”我看见潮湿的土地，“对了，今天我要给小狗洗澡呢！”我猛然想了起来。于是，我把水龙头拧开，拿了一个给坏掉的盆子，拿一个废弃的牙刷，嘴里哼着小曲儿，“洗刷刷，洗刷刷，嗯嗯。”弄好之后一切准备就绪了。就等小狗来了。我去抓小狗，我追着小狗不放。啊！终于追上了。

随着社会的飞速发展，生活，工作节奏越来越快，汽车成了人们的主要交通工具，它给我们带来了前所未有的方便，在大家感叹社会的进步，享受生活得同时，它也给我们带来灾难。一个个鲜活的生命消失在飞驰的车轮下，一个个幸福美满的家庭转眼破碎不堪。特别是那些还没有踏上社会的小学生，也遇到这样的灾难，亲人哀伤的呼唤，留不住小生命。我们能做些什么呢?普及交通安全教育，把交通事故降到最低，这是时代的呼唤!

记得去年暑假的一天，我们一家去白水洋旅途中被堵车了，我们下车顺着大路往前走。一路上每间隔十米，就能看见一个路标“十里坡，请慢行”。路上熙熙囔囔的行人议论纷纷。听大人们说，前面发生车祸，是一部农用车拉着一车冬瓜因驾驶员疲劳驾驶，车速过快，冲下30米的悬崖下，车内共有3人当场死亡。我想，也许他们不曾想到后果会如此惨重，也许在他们生命的最后一瞬间，也在为自己的疏忽而悔恨，也许他们还幻想着能与亲人共享生活的快乐……但死神却无情将他们送到另一个世界。

上学期开学的第一天，我们学校有个十岁女孩报完名，在回家的路上被一辆大卡车当场撞死。有幼小的生命就在这一瞬间结束了，父母悲痛欲绝。

在我们生活中，还有疾速行驶的，有闯红绿灯的，有酒后驾车的……这些事故中，小到跌痛，大到身亡。这提醒我们每个人，必须时时刻刻注意安全!

同学们，我们都是父母的掌上明珠，是祖国未来的栋梁。让我们从现在做起，自觉遵守交通规则，让交通规则在我们心中生根，让我们牢牢记住遵守交通规则就是珍爱生命!
