what s your plan for dragon boat festival?

As a chinese, I was really ashamed of having a little knowledge of dragon boat festival. Perhaps I was born in northern city, though my city is nearby sea, it has been built a U port which I can only see cargo ships and can t see the sweeping ocean. So I have never see the dragon boat contest since I was born. So the dragon boat festival is just a holiday for eating Zong Zi . My mother made Zong Zi when I was a child. Because there was no supermarket, we couldn t buy finished product from market. However, now, we can buy anything in supermarket, so my mother didn t make them anymore. The boat festival began to fade out my mind.

In reality, young people began to have a bug to celebrate foreign festivals, such as Christams, Saint Valentine s day, April Fool s Day, some people also celebrate Easter in church. Talk about Dragon boat festival, it s the same as some foreign conventional festivals, such as Witch s Day in Czech. People burned the witch s puppet so as to welcome spring. Some people are willing to celebrate foreign festivals because they like alien culture. And vice versa, foreigners who like China also concern about Chinese traditional culture.

After new holiday regulation, we have three holidays during the dragon boat festival. So many people will choose this time to travel. People who lived in Xiamen are able to visit Xiapu or Wu Yi mountain, these tourist attractions are in Fujian province,which is suit a short tirp. but I d like to stay at home for my decorate painting. I decide to draw two canvases about Christmas, it s really a big project. Then I ll hang them on the new house wall. I must start it now, or I can t finish them before Christmas eve. But I preceive it s a little difficult to draw them in such a hot season.

Today, the world is learning mandarin. According to the report, there are

over one hundred million foreign people learning Chinese. Whats more, a lot of

foreign companies are having their workers master not only Chinese language, but

also the culture. Chinese dream influences so many people, which provides great

business chances and let the young people realize their dreams. Just as the

successful person said, the 19th century belonged to the UK, 20th century

belonged to America and the 21th century surely belonged to China, whether

people liked it or not. We need to master the chance and equip ourselves with

many skills, so that success will come at hand.

In high school, Chinese students study very hard to fight for the future

college, while in western countries, students are spending time in taking all

kinds of activities. Though students from different countries have different

ways to spend high school time, they make the decision and take charge of their

life. This is the best age to learn knowledge, their brain can remember words

and numbers quickly. For making friends, they will probably meet their lifetime

friends. During three years, besides gaining knowledge and making friends, they

grow so fast, not only in body, but also in mind. Being independent is the main

feature. They can make a lot of decisions without asking parents for help. When

they are equipped themselves with basic skill, then they can better get used to

the new environment, which is important for future life.

The usage of Internet becomes one of the most controversial topics in the

society. As a college student, I believe Internet is beneficial to me more than

the way it harms me. There are many advantages for using Internet.

First, I can best use my time to find information online instead of going

to different libraries. Also, the information can be dated back in decades ago.

It is very helpful to use those information as reference and historical proof.

In the library, it is hard to find so much "old" information. Another advantage

to use Internet is that I can stay home and have a lecture online. It is much

more convenience to me because I can stay warm to have class in the winter time

instead of spending two hours on the bus and physically attend class. In

addition, Internet provides me a better way to communicate with my friends and

professors. I can get response from my professor in a few minutes instead of

waiting outside of his door for hours. Some of my friends are living in a

foreign countries, I can simply just drop him an email whenever I can and get a

message from him very quick. It is much better than waiting for letters. Also,

the email will not lose while the letter might be losing in the process of

delivery.

However, there are also disadvantage of using Internet. For example, I

might spend too much time on the Internet to concentrate on my study. Also,

there is a chance that I am cheated because of the Internet purchasing. Last,

Internet has lots of information, both helpful and harmful. There might be too

much tempatation that I will access some of the harmful information I can on the

Internet.

Even though the usage of Internet has both positive and negative effect to

me, I still consider Internet is a symbol of technology development. I believe I

can use the Internet very well as long as I know how to control myself.

Todays society is a highly developed technological society. However, the

shortcomings in the development process are obvious, such as: carbon dioxide,

and environmental pollution. But the most serious should be the carbon dioxide

problem.

Now the problem of global warming because of excess emissions of greenhouse

gases. Excessive amount of carbon dioxide emissions, creating a diversified

economy and La Nina phenomena lag disorder. Two levels of glaciers melting,

polar animals lose their chance of survival at the same time, will lead to

rising sea levels, many coastal cities into the water did not result in a few

years later. Therefore, we must take the necessary measures to reduce the

environmental impact of carbon dioxide.

For example: tree-planting activities, reduce fossil fuel use, we can from

our own, to promote low-carbon living.

The advent of modern technology brings a substantial impact on the whole

world. It not only boosts the economy, but also changes the people’s conception

on the world. It also increases global communication among countries. In my

opinion, modern technology is creating a single world culture in that such

technology as computer and internet is bringing people together and making the

world get smaller.

First of all, modern technology promotes the globe to frequently use one

language. The invention of computers and Internet promotes English to be a

global language and dominate in the communication worldwide. Since language is

the agent of culture, the worldwide use of English fosters more and more minds

thinking alike.

Besides, the development of the internet brings people’s life style into

uniform. The availability of Internet makes people have a lot in common, such as

access to information, online shopping or payment. People from all over the

world are doing the same thing each day on the Internet, and their living habit

is becoming closer and closer with each passing day.

Based on the points discussed above, it is obvious that modern technology

is creating a single world culture.

When autumn comes, I feel so excited, because the sports meeting comes. I

like sports so much. When I was very small, my father took me to watch the

basketball match, in the long time, sports have become part of my life. When I

started to come to school, I join the basketball team, I had the great time to

practice with my friends. Though high school life is very busy and I have to

learn so many subjects, I still keep taking exercise everyday. Sports meeting

time is my favorite time in the semester. I can take part in many activities,

such as basketball and high jump. I am full of energy, I just want to enjoy the

moment of taking exercise. Sports meeting indeed brings students many energy and

make the students become active. They can also exercise their bodies.

My holiday was good. I stayed at home for sometime. I went to Tianyi Square

and bought same games. But one day, my monther, my younger brother and I went to

life. But I dont agree with them, because money is not everything. Money cant

The way I see it, good health is much better than a lot of wealth. No

matter how much money we have, we’ll not feel happy at all if we are in poor

health. In order to be healthy, we must keep a positive attitude and have a good

living habit.

Apart from good health, we must be diligent at work. As long as we work

hard, we cannot just make a good living, but enrich our minds.

Additionally, we ought to give our helpful hands to others when they are in

need. While helping others, we can own a good fame as well as get more social

experience. Its really a good way to kill two birds with one stone. Only by

doing so can we enjoy the happiest life.

People always attach the importance to the promise, they hate people who

break their promise. I remember once a time, my friend asked me to go to see the

movie with her, I said yes without hesitation. But on that day, I forgot about

the date, I just woke up late and then played computer games in my bedroom. My

friends called me, she asked why did I disappear, I said I was sleeping at home,

she became very angry, until then did I think about our date. I felt so sorry, I

break my promise for the first time, I realize I did the very bad thing. Even

though I apologized for many times, my friend was still angry with me. I learn

the lesson, promise is very important, we must keep it, other people will see

our answers most are doctors, policemen, teachers etc. But when we grow up, we

have to face the reality, not everyone would realize childhood dreams, and some

of these dreams even are unrealistic which will never be able to achieve.

Therefore, we need correctly treat the relationship between dream and

reality.

First of all, dream is the spiritual power to encourage people progress.

Napoleon once said: “He is a bad soldier who doesnt dream of becoming a

general”. In the process of growing up, we must want to give up our purpose when

encounter difficulties, and at the moment, dreams would be the power for us to

insist on.

Second, reality is a reflection of the real environment. Many people think

dream is heaven, and reality is hell, but in my opinion, reality is a

double-edged sword which makes us keep a sense of crisis. When young people

addicted to the unpractical dreams, reality would awaken them which would avoid

them make wrong judgment.

In my opinion, both dream and reality are important, young people cant

ignore one of them. The most critical thing in life is using positive attitude

called music appreciation which I greatly enjoyed. This was not to learn how to

perform every day tasks. Many of these changes are apparent, while others we may

not even be aware of.

Twenty years ago, it was not possible to talk to the office while you were at

the grocery store picking up some necessary items. You could never have had a

three-way business conference while you were fixing dinner or been able to deal

permission to go somewhere, and with GPS features that are now available on some

cell phones, you are able to check to make sure that they are where they are

suppose to be.

Many of these advantages we do not even notice. Have you ever arrived at

the grocery store and realized that you have forgotten your grocery list? The

first thing you would probably do is to call home and have one of your children

read the list off to you. In the same situation in past years, you may have

forgotten things or have had to drive all the way back home to get it. If your

car breaks down, you automatically call for help instead of having to walk to

find a pay phone. Cell phones have certainly made our lives much more

convenient.

Cell phones have also changed the way that people interact with each other.

When we call someone, we are actually calling the person and not a place. This

enables us to be more spontaneous when making plans as you rarely get a busy

signal and unlike a land line telephone, someone is always home. Cell phones

also enable us to call if we are going to be late for an appointment, although

this has led to cell phone users running late more often than those who do not

have cell phones. These users seem to have adopted the attitude that appointment

times are not concrete and use their cell phones to renegotiate their arrival

time.

One of the greatest disadvantages of the cellular phone is the fact that we

do not talk to strangers when traveling anymore. In the past, several people

waiting for a bus would engage in a conversation while they were waiting. People

who traveled the same routes every day might develop friendships along the way.

This situation does not happen anymore. Today when people are waiting for a bus,

they just pull out their cell phones and speak with old friends, missing out on

the opportunity to make new ones. In large cities, many people do not know their

neighbors, even though they may have lived in the same neighborhood for years.

As a society, we are beginning to lose the face-to-face contact that was such an

important part of our lives in the past.

Cell phones are a great asset in aiding in our every day lives. You should

remember, however, to hang up every once in a while and pay attention to the

world around you.

With the rapid development of the society, people can live a better life in

general. So because of the improvement of people’ s living standard, more and

more people own cars. Traffic jam comes to life. While people in order to be

punctual, they often ignore the cars crossing on the road. This behavior will

easily bring traffic accidens. On the other hand, the car owner also want to be

on time and then regardlss the traffic rules, which is also easy to have traffic

accidents. Both the driver and people themseves’ behaviour leads to accidents.

Those accidents may take people’s lives away. It’s so terrible. Therefore, for

the sake of life, the driver and the pedestrian should obey the traffic

regulation as we have only one life.

Mid Autumn Festival is a traditional festival of China。 It used to be as

An essential quality for young people is diligence.Nowdays,the issue on the

most important personal quality of young people is highly debatable,and ideas

vary from peerson to person. Some would claim that confidence is the most

essential. But for my part,the most essential quality for young people is

diligence that helps us a lot.

Diligence enables us to academic results. As we all know,academic results

requires lots of researches. An ancient calligraphy,named Wang Xizhi,devoted

lots of his time practicing writing. As is known to us all,he dried his pool

with his writing brush day after day. Though diligence,he became the greatest

calligraphy,finally.

Deligence helps us to achieve better scores in school. Last semester,one of

my fellow students failed to pass the Listening cours. In fact, questions set in

that paper were not very difficultt. If she had spent a little more time

listening rather than watching TV at her dorm,she could have passed the exam. On

the other hand,one of my roomates worked hard every day and got a high

score.

Diligence provides us more chancs to be succeed. As the saying goes “The

early bird catch the worm”. A diligent man may get up early and have more time

to improve himself. And that is the key to be succeed. If

we spend some time observing people around us,we can easily find some

people,just like Li Jiachen,are diligence and successful.

All in all,as a young people,once we have cultivated the essential quality

of diligence,we can achieve academic achievements,get a high score and have more

chances to be succeed. Once we have this essential quality:diligence,it do helps

us a lot in many ways.

There is an old saying goes that failure is the mother of success. Everyone

confronts with failures even those famous and successful figures. Some people

say that failure lashes them to work harder. Some think that failures are so

depressing and we should not to make any failures. For me, I cherish failures

very much for we can realize our shortcomings from them.

First of all, we can learn from failure and get more experience. It is

indeed so disappointed when we confront with failure. However, we can always get

some experience from failures and makes us understand our weak point. If we can

learn from failure, then we will avoid such problem in the coming days.

Secondly, the more failures, the more successful we will be. As the old

saying goes that failure is the mother of success. The more failure we make, the

more successful we will be. If we make many mistakes, then we will learn a lot

from them and will do better when we meet the same kind of problems. This means

we will obtain great success if we meet more failures.

All in all, failure is a bad thing for people, but it is a good chance for

us to learn more from it and become successful in the future.

Those who live in cities around the world are likely going to have similar

experiences about living and the associated challenges regardless of their

location on the globe. Most of these challenges revolve around stress which

studies have shown is a part of living. Regardless of what you do and your

profession and place stress is not avoidable but could be minimized. Those who

see stress as an enemy will probably live an irritable life which is quite

unnecessary.

How then do we cope with stress? I am going to give you tips that have

helped and are still helping me in coping with life in the city of Lagos

Nigeria, the most populous African city, where orientation of people is quite

different in many ways about stress and living with others.
