噪声对少年儿童的健康危害极大。生活在城市里，喇叭声、撞击声、轰鸣声、爆裂声、吵闹声以及电视机、收录机等家用电器发出的噪音都会影响孩子们的身体健康。噪音在当今世界上的很多国家，都已成为公害之首。噪音可以使人头痛、昏晕、智力衰退。受噪音影响的时间长了，还可能引起心血管系统的疾病，有时会使血压升高，甚至使人发疯。

据调查，在美国洛杉矶国际机场附近上小学的儿童，每天都听到喷气式飞机起飞和降落的噪音，因而普遍患有持续的高血压症。

我国的环境专家曾对居住在某铁路边的青少年进行过心脏和脑神经健康状况的检查，然后通过电子计算机进行分析，证明噪音会损伤心脏，噪音也会影响儿童的智力发育，吵闹区的儿童智力比安静区低20%，长期生活在铁路旁受噪音影响的青少年儿童健康的危害已经引起全社会的关注。

each year there is an increasing number of cars on the roads as millions of new cars are produced. one out of six americans works at making cars, driving trucks, building roads or filling up gas. americans couldnt live without cars!

most americans would find it hard to imagine life without a car. however, some have realized the serious problem of air pollution caused by cars. the polluted air becomes poisonous and dangerous to health.

one way to get rid of the polluted air is to make a car without pollution. but to build a clean car is easier said than done. progress in this field is slow.

another way is to replace car engines with something else. inventors are now working on steam cars as well as electric cars. many makers believe that it will take years to develop a practical model for us.

to prevent the world from being polluted by cars, we have to make some changes in our lives. americans, for example, have to cut down on the number of their total cars.they are encouraged to use bicycles, which are thought to help keep the air clean.

我们家乡原来有一条清澈见底的小河，河底有许多五彩的鹅卵石，美丽极了，小鱼小虾在河里自由自在地玩耍。夏天到了，活泼的孩子们都来这里游泳、打水仗。冬天来了,河面上结了冰,孩子们又会来这里滑冰。

可是有一天，这幸福、美好的生活被打破了：河边建起了许多工厂，成天向河中排放污水、有毒的化学物质。于是，鱼虾离开了小河的怀抱，河底的鹅卵石被弄的肮脏不堪，小孩子们也不来这儿玩耍了。每当人们从这里经过时，就皱起眉头、捂住鼻子。河里的水把村里的庄稼都害死了。小河现在变得臭气熏天，鱼虾都不见了。孩子们也不再来这里玩耍了。

我建议大家保护自然环境，保护小河，保护我们的家园。

地球环境变了，那原来洁白的小溪变成了垃圾桶，绿色的草地变成了沙漠。

让我们开始对一些人们苦苦祈求，让他们不再破坏环境了，小草的祈求是：“请你们爱护我们，不要把你们那无轻重的脚，放入我们美好的家园,也不要乱扔果皮，让一些虫子来咬我，请你们帮帮小草，在小草旁边写上一句话“爱护小草人人有责”。”

小溪的请求是不要在把我当那又丑又脏的垃圾桶，我也要一件漂亮的衣服，请你们行动起来，在我的旁边立一个牌子写上：“小溪是大地的脸，你破坏了小溪就等于破坏了大地。”

地球妈妈的请求：“请不要我美丽的脸型，我应该得到的是一张圆圆的、漂亮的、五彩的形状，不应该像一个苹果被虫子咬的稀巴烂。请你们帮助我向全国各地播放一条新闻，小溪小草都是旅游景点的美好东西，请不要破坏它。

宇宙的祈求：“你们以后不要在发射什么火箭了，你们火箭的一些飞船零件都在太空直接打到我们身上，让我们痛的要命。”

请求你们让这些宇宙垃圾回收回去，免得让我们接受这样的痛苦了，让这些宇宙垃圾被你们回收回去，让我们过上好日子，请你们在宇宙建立一个宇宙垃圾回收站，把打到我们身上的垃圾回收，为我们造福。
