After a while, I noticed that my father began to cough, which was getting louder and louder. First a few words, then a continuous cough. Sometimes his face turned red and his tears ran out. Every night, before he could see him go home, he could hear his shrill cough, which sounded as old as an old man in his 70s and 80s. Dad couldnt survive but he had to go to the doctor. After the doctors diagnosis, he was found to be suffering from bronchitis, and the father had to make up his mind to quit smoking. Sometimes I cant help seeing my father, but Im putting a snack in his mouth, and it works.

Now my father is fat, his appetite is open and his spirit is full. My father also offered to subsidize the money used for smoking. Sometimes he also bought me school supplies, toys, clothes and nutrition for my mother. Now my home is full of laughter.

在生活中，随着科技越来越发达，工业污染的产生逐年增多，而我们，应该做什么呢？

工业污染是指工业生产过程中所形成的废气、废水和固体排放物对环境的污染。污染主要是由生产中的“三废”（废水、废气、废渣）及各种噪音造成的，可分为废水污染、废气污染、废渣污染、噪音污染。

这些污染带给我们的危害数不胜数。如：工业生产中排放大量未经处理的水、气、渣等有害废物，会严重地破坏农业的生态平衡和自然资源，对农业生产的发展造成极大的危害；工业“三废”对工业生产本身的危害也很严重，有毒的污染物质会腐蚀管道，损坏设备，影响厂房等的使用寿命；环境污染，公害泛滥，直接危害着广大人民群众的健康；有些污染不容易发现，发现以后造成的危害已经很严重……

比利时的马斯河谷位于狭窄的盆地中，气温发生逆转，致使工厂中排放的有害气体和煤烟粉尘在近地大气层中集聚不散，3天后开始有人发病。其症状表现为：胸痛、咳嗽、呼吸困难等，一星期内有60多人死亡，其中心脏病、肺病患者死亡率最高。同时，还有许多家畜致死。事件发生期间，SO2浓度很高，并可能含有氟化物。事后分析认为，此次污染事件，是几种有害气体同煤烟粉尘对人体综合作用所致。

但并不是说我们没有办法阻止这种事情的发生。我们也有相应的防御措施。如：淘汰和关闭一批技术落后、污染严重、浪费资源的企业；开展循环经济实践；积极防范突发环境事件；对工业危险废物实行全过程管理制度；实行严格的核与辐射环境安全管理……

如今，我们的思想都不封闭，应该努力了解环保知识，保护好我们的生存环境——地球。为子孙后代留住一个美丽、环保的家园。也为全世界所有人出一份力，让世界更美好。

调查过程：我和妈妈来到了娱乐城，那里的湖面上有许多的垃圾，比如说：枯树叶、糖纸、瓜子皮等垃圾，散发着难闻的气味。

大路上也有不少的垃圾，有果皮、有烂袜子，还有小气球等垃圾，再加上汽车一辆一辆的开了过来，很容易撞到人，而且那汽车的噪音真是烦死人了，那散发出的烟味，热呼呼的，还有尾气，特别难闻，对空气的污染特别大。

公共厕所排出的粪便更是散发出难闻的气味，让人恶心。

再回想起原来的娱乐城，绿绿的草，红红的花，绿树成荫，多漂亮的景观呀，但是再想起现在的娱乐城，真是让人心酸，如果我们以前认真的保护环境，现在还会这样吗?

我们一定要爱护环境，不摘花、不摘草、不随地吐痰、不乱扔垃圾，从自己做起，以实际行动来保护环境，来爱护大自然。

Once man did not have to think about the protection of his environment.There were few people on the earth, and natural resources seemed to be unlimited.

Today things are different.The world has become too crowded.We are using up our natural resources,and polluting our environment with dangerous chemicals.If we continue to do this, human life on earth will not survive.

We realize that if too many fish are taken from the sea, there will soon be none left.Yet,with modern fishing methods, more and more fish are caught.We know that if too many trees are cut down, forests will disappear.Yet, we continue to use powerful machines to cut down more and more trees.We see that if rivers are polluted with waste products, we will die.Yet, waste products are still put into rivers.

We know that if the population continues to rise at the present rate, in a few years, there wont be enough food.What can we do to solve these problems?

If we eat more vegetables and less meat, there will be more food available.Land for crops feeds five times more people than land where animals are kept.

Our natural resources will last longer if we learn to recycie them.

The world population will not rise so quickly if people use modern methods of birth control.

Finally, if we educate people to think about the problems we shall have a better and cleaner planet in the future.

Today，pollution has become a serious problem to us. It means that the air，seas，rivers and land are polluted by waste or poisonous things.

It does harm not only to human beings but also to animals .

We cannot have fresh air because many factories have the poisonous smoke sent into the air. Beautiful parks are made dirty by plastic tins and bags.

Fish die from the polluted water. It is said that strange diseases have appeared in some places because of pollution.

I hope scientists can find ways to solve the serious problem.

We are looking forward to seeing the clear sky，clean rivers and beautiful parks again.

In modern society, we tend to become more and more aware of our living environment or physical environment, because we are not clean as before. So many people now choose their house as to its environment but not its location and expenses to afford it. As we all know, the environment pollution is more and more serious during these years, what we could do is to make great efforts in protecting environment gradually. Stepping into the new century, environment pollution has become more serious than ever since. There are different kinds of pollution. Such as, water pollution, air pollution and noise pollution and so on. It seems that we live on a planet which is full of pollution. Where all these pollution comes from? To a large extend, the environmental destruction is the heavy price that we pay for the rapid development of economy and the growing population. In order to have more fuel, people cut down trees and dig more corals. But the growing needs for energy are hardly to meet. Countless private cars on the street, the gas stations are short of gasoline, even the government has raise the price so many times in order to control the needs of gasoline, but it’s still not working. Overusing the natural resources has already affected the ecological balance. However, the factories still release the toxic air into the sky and the polluted water into the rivers. People still lack of the conscious of protecting the environment. I think it’s time for all of us to do something.

The government should put forward some more strict laws to prevent the environment from being further polluted. And they should let people know more about the importance of environment protection. And we should find the balance between the economic growth and environmental protection. Plant more trees in the deserts and stop cutting down the forest. Forbid the factories to pour the waste water into the rivers directly. Encourage people to use public transportations to work. Both government and ordinary people should join hands together to make our home clean and fresh again. Only in this way, our earth could be a better place to live in.

政府应该施行一些更为严格的法律来防止环境被进一步的破坏掉。他们应该让人们了解到保护环境的重要性。我们要在保持经济发展和环境保护中找到平衡点。在沙漠中植树造林，停止砍伐森林。禁止工厂往河流里直接排放废水。鼓励人们用交通工具上班。政府和普通民众都应该携手保护环境，让我们的家园变得干净整洁。只有这样，我们的地球才能更适合人类居住。
