A cobbler passed his time in singing from morning till night;it was wonderful to see,wonderful to hear him;he was more contented in shoes,than was any of the seven sages.His neighbor,on the contrary,who was rolling in wealth,sung but little and slept less.He was a banker;when by chance he fell into a doze at day-break,the cobbler 12 awoke him with his song.The banker complained sadly that Providence had not made sleep a saleable commodity,like edibles or drinkables.

Pranks performed on April Fools Day range from the simple, (such as saying, "Your shoes untied, or I accidentally stepped on your glasses!), to the elaborate. Setting a roommates alarm clock back an hour is a common gag. Whatever the prank, the trickster usually ends it by yelling to his victim, "April Fool!"

Practical jokes are a common practice on April Fools Day. Sometimes, elaborate practical jokes are played on friends or relatives that last the entire day. The news media even gets involved. For instance, a British short film once shown on April Fools Day was a fairly detailed documentary about "spaghetti farmers" and how they harvest their crop from the spaghetti trees.

April Fools Day is a "for-fun-only" observance. Nobody is expected to buy gifts or to take their "significant other" out to eat in a fancy restaurant. Nobody gets off work or school. Its simply a fun little holiday, but a holiday on which one must remain forever vigilant, for he may be the next April Fool!

生活中也有不少的例子呢！有一次我的一个朋友告诉我，他的父母因为他爸爸没有叠好被子，结果他妈妈看见了，大发雷庭，他俩一言一语的吵了起来，幸好他用演技才化解了一场“世界级大战”。他说当时他说自己肚子痛，在那吵架的爸爸妈妈马上走了过来，问他怎么了，并且还摸了摸他的头，一发现原来是在骗他们的，他以为他父母要打他，可一看，他俩的气全没有了，而且在那里互相自责。

在生活中，我还记得小时候，在外曾祖母家，小姨带着我在一条窄小的沟边上玩，可我硬是要往前面走，可不，脑袋重重的撞在了坚硬的石头上，我便哇哇大哭，这时小姨就说别哭了，待会儿了给你一个动画片看，我便马上停了下为，跟着小姨走进屋子里，她的开电视机，翻到我最爱的频道，好看的动画片，吸引住了我的眼珠，小姨变成了葫芦兄弟的三娃，小姨还讲，三娃有铜头铁臂，可厉害了呢！据说三娃还刀枪不如呢。我听得入谜了，便了结了这件事。

有时善意的谎言，总能让人忘掉烦恼的。不过，可不能滥用它们哟。
