Pride and Prejudice is a novel written by the famous English writer, Jane Austen, who was the sixth children in a family of seven and was born in the village of steventon in Hampshire in 1775 and died of Addison’s disease in 1817. The book first published on 28 January 1813 by the bookseller Thomas Egerton who had also published Sense and Sensibility, the original version of the novel was written in 1796-1797 under the title First Impressions .

Pride and Prejudice is a love story, mainly tells the love between Elizabeth and Darcy. It divided into 2 volumes and is composed of 42 chapters altogether. Darcy, a friend of Bingley’s , was attracted to Elizabeth, a lively and spirited girl. But Darcy greatly offends her by his supercilious behavior and this dislike is increased by Wickham, a dashing young militia officer of the unjust treatment he has met with at Darcys hands. One day when Darcy and Bingley’s two sisters disgusted with the vulgarity of Mrs. Bennet and her two youngest daughters, effectively separated Bingley and Jane. Meanwhile, Collins, a cousin of Mr. and Mrs. Bennet, married charlotte, a friend of Elizabeth’s, for Elizabeth’s refuse to marry him. But One day Darcy send Elizabeth a letter, in which he justifies the separation of his friend Bingley and Jane and make it clear that Wickham is. So Elizabeth changed her opinions and ideas toward him. Once when Elizabeth visited her uncle and aunt in the north of England, she met Darcy there and witnessed his changes through series of behaviors, no longer pride and become gentle and attentive, all these made their marriage arranged, and they also suitably provided for Bingley and Jane’s reunited and engaged. When I first saw The Truman Show I came out of the theatre amazed. This is your first clue that you are watching something different from your normal Jim Carrey movie. I love the dialogue, camera shot, performances, direction, music, and running time of this movie. There is nothing I would do to change it. I came away from The Truman Show feeling inspired which is the goal of good filmmaking Jim Carrey was outstanding as Truman, underplaying him, not making him too comic or too dramatic, but giving true sincerity when asked. He deserved an Oscar nomination. Ed Harris has always been a good actor, but in this movie hes a great actor. He plays Christof with such arrogance and bullheadedness that you dont know whether hes helping or destroying Truman. He and the director, Peter Weir, deserved their Oscar nods.

Weir, who directed the great Witness, uses different camera angles to make you feel like youre actually watching The Truman Show and not a movie. He ends it before you get tired of the concept and helped Carrey and Harris give immaculate performances. Andrew Niccol script is a real star in the movie too because of its inventiveness and ingenuity. Overall, The Truman Show is what I like to call a true American classic.

The Miserable World is a historical culture legacy reflecting the tragic life and destiny of the human in the middle of nineteen century in France. Crazily, but truthfully, I finished reading the most part of the novel "A Tale of Two Cities" in just one day. Lost in the story, I felt like being together with the characters and experiencing the same exciting events. Soon it came to an end. To tell you my feelings, its infinite sadness and a strong emotion that can drive me to cry.

The story is set in London and Paris at the time of the great French Revolution. It shows the causes of revolution and its effects on peoples day-to-day lives. Before the revolution, the King and the aristocracy treated their people cruelly in France. The common people were extremely poor and miserable. The crops in the fields were poor as if even the land shared the misery of the people. And there were so heavy taxes that all the villagers had nothing to hand over at last. On the other hand, the aristocracy made their will as the law by using money and gold. There were no justice, no equality and no fairness. Just as what happened to Dr Manette,he wrote to the Minister to show the crime what Marquis Evremonde had done, resulting in himself being arrested and sent to the prison Bastille without any reason.

Then this situation of darkness was needed to be changed. As people such as the Defarges prepared and arranged, at length the Revolution came to break out. When the Bastille was captured and the King was tried and put to death as well as many other aristocrats, things didnt go on as what they had been expected. The situation stayed the same, or even worse. The prisoners from the Bastille were set free while more prisons were filled with people who had done no wrong again. People who once lived on the bottom of class took the charge now and their heart had been full of evil. The only thing they wanted to do was to revenge. And these so-called "patriots" would like to see more and more innocent prisoners going to the guillotine and thats their joy. As the novel wrote,” In everything they did were merciless, for they had been hardened in the fires of suffering and the touch of pity could make no mark on them".

Equality and fairness is what people seek,which led to the French Revolution.As a consequence,neither equality nor fairness was got after the revolution.And thats the tragedy of the history.I was heavyhearted when reading what Sydney Carton said before death and I burst into tears finally.

陶醉在这些美丽的描写中，我渐渐进入了人物的角色。书中讲述了改革开放前后中国天翻地覆的变化，一些普通的人在历史转换中所演绎的平凡的故事。给我留下最深印象的是孙家两兄弟。哥哥孙少安，性情朴实忠厚，虽然文化程度不高，但脑袋灵活开花，是改革的前驱者和先锋者，勇于进取，敢于开拓，历经重重磨难，克服种种困难，最后终于走向成功。

《悲惨世界》是法国作家雨果获诺贝尔文学奖的作品，主要以法国大革命时期小说背景，以经典历史事件和历史建筑补充文章内容，以冉阿让由恶变善，贵族子嗣马吕斯的爱情故事为线索，生动形象的揭露了法国旧社会的极度不公，下层人民生活的黑暗和艰难。

在第一部中，主人公是一名为兄弟偷窃而获五年徒刑后有多次越狱失败才服刑的苦役犯冉阿让。受到一次又一次的不公平待遇之后他就决定报复这个社会。但就在他实行报复行窃大主教的第二天就被警察抓回，但大主教并没有以牙还牙，反而帮他圆场并送他一对银烛台。因此他被感化。几年后，凭他的努力，他改换身份并在一座滨海小城当上市长，并让其城市变得繁荣富强，且因此威名远扬。这时，他认识一名贫苦的女工，元帮她摆脱困境，并救回他女儿但黑心的德纳第再三推托敲诈，时间遭到延迟。但是，在一切发展顺利时，他经他服役时的监狱长及现在的手下沙威得知，有一名可怜人被误认为冉阿让。历经许久的思想斗争，他终于决定去拯救那个可怜的人。但也因此服刑。不过，在苦役期间，他诈死，并成功从德纳第手中领回珂赛特。数年后，进步贵簇青年马吕斯爱上了长大的珂赛特。但悲剧再次重演，德纳第绑架了冉阿让，而马吕斯就在一旁，然而德纳第正是马吕斯父亲的恩人，他陷入抉择之中。最终，他用妙计救下冉阿让，而德纳第则被抓。

在第二部中，马吕斯与柯赛特相识并相爱，而后来马吕斯又因冉阿让受到威胁举家搬迁至英国，将无法再见珂赛特，才加上向外公求援失败，悲痛欲绝，因此参加街垒，并且成为头领。冉阿让得知消息后，也赶来参加。随后经过激烈的战斗，街垒被攻破，马吕斯的朋友集体战死，但是马吕斯被冉阿让救下，随即转移到外公家。最终外公回心转意，接纳珂赛特，两人最终结婚。冉阿让为他们献出积蓄。可惜的是，不久他撒手人间。

整部小说环环相扣，规划整齐，叙事明晰。通过描写马吕斯对拿破仑和他父亲彭眉胥的无比崇敬，抒发他对法国革命家的赞扬。同时，作者也描写了由无尽的苦难和贫困造就成的丧失人性的恶棍。他们为了生存抛弃了尊严，为了金钱可以讨好任何人;也抛弃了儿女，完全将自己的儿女视为累赘;更失去了人格，如野兽般地咆哮，为利益不惜一切。这正是法国黑暗旧社会的真实写照。

世界注定是不公平的，有富裕就注定有贫困。作者借此书就是表达不公黑暗的封建王朝终究会败落，人类应敢于进步：“人类总是在进步的，而流血的就是革命。”既然生在这世界，我们就要不断超越自己，建造和平世界。
