一次新的体验 A new experience

Yesterday I did commonweal in library to earn my public service

scores(which is similar to the compulsory credits).I arrived library at 8’clock

in the morning,a librarian let me to wipe the mirror in every toilet from one to

six floor.Then I started to wipe the mirrors.It was been two hours after I

finished all work.I was very tired,but looking at the shiny and clean mirrors I

had wiped, I felt very happy.To be honest,I had never done the things like it at

home,so it was a new experience to me,and it make me realize the hard work of my

parent.

昨天，我在图书馆做公益去获取公益实数(类似于学分)。我早上8点到达图书馆，一个图书馆管理员让我去擦一楼到六楼的厕所里的镜子。然后

就开始擦镜子了。等我完成了所有的工作，已经过去两个小时了。我非常地累，但是看着被我擦得干净闪亮的镜子，我感到很开心。说实话，我在家里从来没有做过像这样的事情，所以，这对我来说是一次新的体验，这也让我体会到了父母的艰辛。

Usually, the Valentine’s Day has no connection with the traditional Chinese

festival, but this year, the Lantern festival falls on the same day with the

lovers’ day. Well, some young will face a dilemma，especially for those who

doesn’t get married. Should they spend the day with their families or their hot

lovers? That’s a question. I’ve got a key that can solve this problem.

Family comes first of course. You should wake up a little earlier in the

morning, and help your mother in the kitchen. On the Lantern Festival, making

rice balls and dumplings are the traditional activities. Having a reunion dinner

with the whole family is also very important, so you need to show up and stay

with your family for the whole morning. Spend some time with your family. Keep

them company and make them happy. In the afternoon, there are maybe not so busy,

you can plan for the Valentine’s Day with your girlfriend or boyfriend, you can

have some snacks in 4p.m, and tell your parents you will hang out with your

friends at night and not having supper at home tonight. They would be

understood. Then you can take your girlfriend or boyfriend to a nice restaurant

and see the latest movie after dinner. Do not forget to present the gift you

prepare for your lover. Make your lover happy, too.

I think everybody should find a balance between family love and lover’s

love. If I can only choose one, I will choose family love over the other.

Because I know my family never leaves me and my parents are aging. How many days

can I still be with them? So I really appreciate the days that I can still be

with them. I know you will do the same just like me.

Winter holiday is coming. I am so excited.

In this winter holiday, I am going to take a trip with my parents by plane.We are going to Beijing. Then, I am going to go ice skating there. I am going to see the snow. I will play with the snow. I am going to make a snowman with my sister. Then we are going to visit the Great wall. At last, we are going to go back home by plane.

That will be fun in the winter holiday! I can’t wait!

Last week , I had a busy Sunday.

I got up at six oclock at first ,Then ,I must washed my face and brushed

my teeth in ten minutes,Following,I need for breakfast .My breakfast was very

delicious ,so I ate them fast.After this,I went out and went played basketball

with my best friend ,Tom ,in the school playground .We knew many tempering is

good to health, so we can train each week together .In the noon,I went home and

cooked my lunch by myself ,then ate it .In the afternoon ,I stayed at home .I

read books and did my homework three hours .I n the evening ,it is mountain in

the sun ,I began to washed my dirty clothes .At the oclock ,I went to bed and

had a rest.

How a busy day it is !

今天，老师说：“咱们玩个游戏吧！”同学们一听全都打起了精神。

老师转身往黑板上贴了一幅画像。是一位小姑娘留着一头金色的卷发，戴着菠萝帽，大大的眼睛，微笑着。唯独就没有鼻子。老师说：“我们请同学给她贴个鼻子吧。”同学们一听立刻兴奋起来。

老师先叫了一位男同学，他不紧不慢地走上讲台，老师用眼睛蒙住他的眼睛，让他原地转三圈；然后他手拿纸鼻子，伸出双手慢慢摸到黑板，找到画像，在上面确定了位置，贴了下去，同学们哄堂大笑。原来他把鼻子贴到了嘴巴上了。老师又叫了一位女同学，她快速走上讲台，仔细打量着画像；同样她也被蒙上眼睛，转了三圈，接着贴鼻子。同学们又是一阵大笑，她颤颤地拉下眼布，这次她把鼻子贴到了下巴上，真可惜！

同学们纷纷举手，我也举起了手，终于找到我了。于是我走上讲台，被蒙上了眼睛，眼前一片漆黑，生怕贴错，摸到画像小心翼翼地量了又量，最后下定决心贴了上去。结果你猜怎样？我也很惨，把鼻子贴到了眼睛上。

这堂课真是太有趣了！虽然我没成功，但我很喜欢。

平常在家里或者在学校图书室看笑话书，每次都会情不自禁地笑出声来，可是今天我看了一幅著名作家华君武的名叫《假文盲》的漫画，却无论如何也笑不出来。

这幅画讲的是：清晨，凛冽的寒风呼呼的刮者挟起地上的纸屑被寒风吹得乱飞狂舞，人们都在匆匆忙忙地往家里赶。

“咦？真奇怪，这四位中年男子在母子乘车处的站台牌边，干嘛呀？难道说他们是文盲吗？？？车牌旁边站着一位抱着两三岁孩子的中年妇女正在猜疑着。”

站在最前面的是一位身材肥胖，一身华丽的打扮像是一个公司的大老板，他很悠闲的站在那儿，还一副得意洋洋的样子。接着是一个又高又瘦，穿着一件大皮袄，戴着个帽子的先生，这位先生干脆就闭上眼睛，装着一副不认识字的样子，你看，第三位是一位缩着脖子的男子，他或许看见其他两人都能站在那儿心里有些不服气，接着就干脆排到后面。第四位的那个人，瞪着一双小眼睛，心想我戴着口罩没有1f0人会认出我来你们在这样等下去，不把你们的嘴巴吹歪才怪呢！

现在，社会上有某些人，为了自己的方便而违反了社会公德，例如：有一天我和妈妈上街买菜看见有一个人在公路上乱扔垃圾，公路旁明明写有“不准随便扔垃圾吐口痰”这些字多么醒目。这就是思想败坏的人，他们就是思想上的“假文盲”。

假文盲可真自私。

不知不觉，我们已踏入初三的门槛。至今仍记得刚步入中学的样子。我们像极了一群天真的小鸟，唧唧喳喳，带着一份稚气。尽管已经进入过校园，却还是忍不住东瞧瞧、西望望。前面的老师热情地给我们讲解着初中生活的一切，好像是叫廖老师吧，这也是我们第一次如此细细地观察这个校园。校园有两栋教学楼。分为初三的学生一栋，初一和初二的学生一栋。我们是在初三的，而我们的教学楼后面是有个池塘的。池塘上有一座水泥桥，桥的周围有围栏，它的一面连接教学楼，另一面连接着宿舍。而我们，便是在这座桥上，不知不觉地快走过了三年。三年，足以让一个人成长很多。从初一的天真无邪，初二的懵懵懂懂，已然过渡到了现在——初三，这个字眼很容易让人联想起“奋斗”。还记得树荫下的少年们，笑谈风声。许是谈论某个喜欢的明星，许是讨论今天哪儿又发生了什么奇闻怪事，许是朋友间互相开个玩笑……总之，欢笑声惊飞了头顶上树枝间的鸟儿们。也曾记得自己在草地上打闹，在小路上漫步，亦或是在花丛中散心……那时候，怎么闹也总不觉得累。

“青春”是我们释放自己的最好写照，“年少”是我们释放自己的最好理由。因为正值花季，校园里的花正开得芬芳。时光让我们渐渐褪去了几分青稚，多了几分成熟。我们对知识的渴求正如那含苞待放的花骨朵对露珠的渴望一样。于是，开始懂得奋斗，希望能够做一个更好的自己，这样才不会辜负明天。日月交替，花谢花开。校园见证着我们的成长，我们已经用青春的脚步在校园中留下了足迹。 偶尔碰到廖老师，打一声招呼，这时就会想起了种种往事。现在想想，我们已经成长了很多。三年里，我们欢呼，我们歌唱，我们跋涉，我们耕耘，我们付出了汗水，收获了希望。这时候，才发觉，校园中我们的青春之花，在这个季节已悄然绽开。

今天是一年一度的国庆节，是我们伟大的祖国母亲的生日，这一天里，举国上下都在欢庆这个节日。不管是谁，在这一天里都应放了假，而在这一天里又应怎加了一些见识吧！在放假的这一天里我和爸爸妈妈去了丰都鬼城。

丰都鬼城是一座靠山面水的古城，春秋时节称“巴子别都”。传说这里是人死以后归属的地方。这里古木参天，寺庙矗立，在庞大的阴曹地府里有仙道，释，儒，诸神众鬼盘踞各庙，各司其职从苛刑严法统治的幽灵世界。分别为阎王殿，鬼门关，阴阳界，十八层地狱，奈何桥，黄泉路，望乡台等。奈何桥边有一个简介说奈何桥有名试金桥，右边为健康桥，左边为财富桥，意思就是健健康康，升官发财。传说走过去的人就能健康平安和升官发财。传说进了门有过三关才能证明自己是一个善良的人，否则就会被恶鬼撩神缠身。还有生前是一个善良的人的话就可以平安的从桥上走过，如果生前做过许多坏事就会被污浊的波涛中的铜蛇铁狗狂咬。

鬼门关是进入鬼国后的必经之路，这是人死后进入这里的第二个关卡，两旁有十八个鬼王和门小鬼把守。森严壁垒，像铜铁一般不可破。无论那个亡魂来到这里都要接受检查，看是否有这个通行证，这个通行证就是路引。它是人死后来到阴曹地府的凭证。在这张长三次，宽二次的黄纸上印有”为丰都天子阎罗大帝发给路引和天下人，必备此引，方能到丰都地府转世上天，上面还盖有“阎王爷城隍爷丰都县太爷”三枚印章。凡是人死之后，即烧掉它，亡魂就拿着它到鬼门关，经查验无讹后，方能入关。

鬼城丰都以悠久的历史，独特的文化类函，神奇的传说，秀美的风光展现了它的独特价值和魅力。

每个人都会有第一次，我们都会对第一次充满好奇、新鲜、恐惧等等，而我最难忘的第一次是自己骑自行车上学。

在四五年级的时候，我就非常羡慕那些可以自己骑车上学，放学可以自己骑车回家的人。因为，我家离学校远，所以，爸爸来接总会迟一些，于是，我日盼夜盼，盼星星，盼月亮，终于盼到了可以骑自行车的年龄了，买好了车牌，我就迫不及待地想要骑车了。第二天，我便早早地起了床，匆匆吃了早饭后，背上书包，推着自行车出了家门口。一股刺骨的寒风向我袭来，好冷啊！于是，我系好围巾，戴上手套，全副武装后，就踏上自行车，向学校出发了，一路上，电瓶车、汽车、大卡车都从我身边飞驰而过，我害怕被车碰到，就骑得特别靠右边，每次有车辆要从我后边冲上来时，我就提心吊胆的，等车辆开过，才稍微加快了一点速度。转弯时，我也要时不时地回过头去看看有没有车过来，如果确定没有车过来，我就赶紧转过弯去。在上学的路上，我第一次这么提心吊胆过，因为每一次都是我爸妈送我到学校的。等安全地到达学校时，我才长长地舒了一口气。当然从第二天开始我就不再害怕了。

通过这件事后，我得到了一个启示，只要我们尝试过了第一次，那么我们就会更有兴趣地去尝试第二次、第三次。

姑姑，有您真好!在生活上，您给予了我无微不至的关心和照顾;在为人处事上，您教会了我许多做人的道理;在学习上，您鼓励着我努力向前。光阴似箭，日月如梭，转眼间我已经十一岁了，在这过去的十年多间，我们经历了酸甜苦辣的时光，但在我的记忆里，这些都是满满的美好的回忆。

记得在三年级的一次体育课上，我一不小心把膝盖摔伤了。回到家里，姑姑知道我受伤了，急忙来到我面前，让我把裤子慢慢卷起来。姑姑看着我的膝盖，心疼地说：“摔疼了吧?还能看见血呢，以后可要小心些，伤口这么大，要注意些，别让它发炎了。你坐好了，我先帮你消消毒。”

姑姑说完，就去拿医药箱了，一手取出一瓶消毒水，一手拿着棉签，小心翼翼沾了些药水涂在我的伤口处，我却依然哇哇直叫的。这时姑姑温柔地说：“忍一忍，一定要消毒干净了，不然很容易发炎的，伤口要清理干净，不然以后会留下难看的疤痕的。”说着又把她自己的亲身经历的事说给我听。

姑姑一边讲着过去的事，一边帮我细致地处理着伤口，消完毒后，姑姑在伤口上帮我倒了些云南白药，她说这样可以早点好，然后姑姑拿着纱布，把纱布缠绕在我的伤口处，并用胶布把纱布固定在腿上。晚上要冲凉时，姑姑又叮嘱：“夏立峰，伤口是不可以碰到水的哦，过来一下，让我帮你在你的伤口外绑上一个塑料袋，让水不会流到你的伤口上。”就这样在姑姑细心地照顾下，我的伤口很快就好了。从这件小小的事情中，让我感到了姑姑的好。

在我成长的时光里，您一直是那颗耀眼的启明星，在漫漫长夜中指引我前行!您又像那充满无限光芒的太阳，温暖着我的心灵。姑姑，有你，真好!

The Lunar New Year occasion to the Chinese people. It lasts about the first

four days of the year, during which people do not work except for the workers on

duty. Students do not go to school, and shops are closed.

Several days before the new year, people begin to prepare. Farmers kill

pigs, sheep, cocks and hens. City dwellers buy meat fish and vegetables. Houses

are cleaned; couplets are posted on the doors. Colourful lanterns are hung at

the gate.

On the eve of the new year, each family has its members gatherd together

and eats a family reunion dinner. After the meal they watch TV until the clock

strickes twelve. Then every family sets off long strings of small firecrackers

and other fireworks to welcome the new year. On the first day of the new year,

almost everyone is dressed in his or her best. When

people meet on the way, they say to each other "Happy New Year". Friends

and relatives pay new year calls and gives presents to each other. Children

indulge themselves in games.

爷爷家养了一只小狗，这只小狗十分漂亮，我很喜欢它。有一天，我发现它身上的毛缺少了光泽，而且有一股难闻的味道，心想：小狗一定是该洗澡了，不如我给它洗个热水澡吧！可是我总来没给小动物洗过澡，不知道能行吗？看着它可爱的样子，我决定试试。

我先接好一盆温水，把手指伸进去，觉得水温正合适。这时，小狗走了过来，好奇地嗅了嗅，看看我，再看看水，好像在想：这是要干什么呢？我小心翼翼地抱起小狗，把它放进水里，到了水里，它立刻就不老实了。四条腿使劲往外爬，一点儿也不想呆在盆里，我赶紧按住它，迅速地往小狗身上淋水，不一会儿，它全身都湿了，毛一缕一缕紧贴在身上。我又把洗发液抹在小狗的头上、背上、肚子上、腿上，很快，它的身上就有了很多小泡泡，成了一只泡泡犬。哈哈，真有趣呀！

为了不让小狗着凉，我飞快地给小狗冲洗干净，又用一条大毛巾把它的毛擦干净，还给小狗裹得严严实实的。此时的小狗缩在“被子”里，全身上下都在哆嗦。

一会儿，小狗身上的毛很快干了，恢复了以前的漂亮，我真高兴呀！

父母的爱有时候像丝丝细雨，那么的轻柔，细腻，含着浓浓的深情。

记得有一次，天气下雨。我刚刚放学，就看见雨雾中熟悉的身影。啊，是爸爸，我连忙跑过去。他骑着自行车来接我，他看见我只穿着一件运动衣时，立刻脱下自己身上的衬衫给我穿上，自己只穿着单薄的背心。

顿时，就像有一股暖流进入我的心田。自行车在雨中前进。无情的雨点抽打着爸爸的身体。我把小手放在爸爸冰凉的胳膊上，闭上眼睛深深的祝愿：雨啊，请你不要落了，风啊，请你不要刮了，不要伤害爸爸那颗爱我的心！

父母有时候像大还，宽广，深沉，容约着我的教育和关怀。记得有一次，我开始得了让人惊讶的分数—100分。我那天在学校里有着兴高彩烈的心情。回到了家，我得以洋洋地把这份消息公司了妈妈，我以为她很高兴，但出乎了我的意料。只是用严肃的口吻说：“我不喜欢你的傲气，刚刚有了点成绩就翘起尾巴，儿子你要记住天外有天啊！”是的，我没有忘记，没有忘记她那深沉的声音和严肃的教诲。

啊！这一件事，凝聚着父母多少诚挚的爱，包含了父母无尽的关怀和教育。

一次，我正在写作业，学习桌的旁边有一个钉子，我没有看见，不小心地划了一下，我痛地直叫，父母赶忙跑过来看，看他们的样子，非常着急，急得像热锅上的蚂蚁，我却不知好歹地哭个不停，父母安慰着我，我还是哭个不停，父母没有办法，从这边走到那边，想不出一个办法，过了五分钟，父亲从医药柜找来了一瓶药水，给我抹在手指上，痛得我像要去天堂一样，母亲按住我，是有力地按住我，我却用力地挣扎着，啊！药水终于抹完了，我不哭了，父母也去干自己爱干的事情了，我又放心地写作业了。

这件事情，使我难以忘记，最终还在我的脑海里来回的流淌着……

Dear Sir,

I am a December 2003 graduate from the University of San Francisco (USF) with a bachelors degree in International Business. As part of my career planning, I am very interested in supplementing my international business education with a basic knowledge of the Chinese language. This I hope will help me enter into business commerce with business organizations partnering with Chinas economic development.

I already have information from BLCU and hope to study there for at least one full year starting with this summers program continuing through the fall and spring semester 2006. Can your office advise me if such scholarships might be available to me?

I have been studying Chinese for one year now. I am not sure what level I belong to. I was told that there will be an HSK test in our university in September. I am planning to attend the test. But I dont know if the result of the test is recognized by your university. If so, can it be a help for me to apply for the scholarship?

New Year is the biggest festival for Chinese people. After about half a

month, there is a traditional festival, it is the Lantern Festival, which is

also important. The first round moon day in the New Year is special. People

continue to celebrate the New Year and enjoy the time with their families.

The coming of Lantern Festival is various. Some people said that it is

related with Buddha. When the Buddhas meditated, they need light in front of

them, so the light can drive away monster for people. Today, in some areas,

people light up lanterns to beg for a son from god. No matter what the story is,

the traditional festival is favored by people and the government pays special

attention to remind this tradition.

There are many activities on Lantern Festival, and the most traditional

game is the riddle. People can read some riddles that are written in the

lanterns. They can get prizes if they know the answers. I love riddle so much,

because when I figure out the answers, I will be very proud of myself, at the

same time, I can learn some funny knowledge.

今天我要观察七月，你们知道七月是谁吗?七月当然是我们家的小橘猫了，我们小可爱七月可调皮了。她有一身橘黄橘黄的毛皮，一个似乒乓球的圆头，圆滚滚的，一双像黑曜石一样的眼睛，一个红爱心鼻子，还有那跟刀一样锋利的牙齿，一条长长的小尾巴。

到了晚上我把门窗都打开，我已经不怕老鼠了，因为我有猫，他们也不再吃我家的小麦了，我家的粘鼠板也没有用了，哈哈哈。

我们家的七月可真可爱呀，通过这一次观察，我知道了猫的外形特点和动作。

Here is a difference between science and technology.Science is a method of

answering theoretical questions; technology is a method of solving practical

problems. Science has to do with discovering the facts and relationships between

observable phenomena in nature and with establishing theories that serve to

organize these facts and relationships; technology has to do with

tools,techniques, and procedures for implementing the findings of science.

Another distinction between science and technology has to do with the

progress in each. Progress in science excludes the human factor. Scientists, who

seek to comprehend the universe and know the truth with the highest degree of

accuracy and certainty, cannot pay heed to their own or other peoples likes or

dislikes, or to popular ideas about the fitness of things. What scientists

discover may shock or anger people--as did Darwins theory of evolution. But

even an unpleasant truth is more than likely to be useful; besides, we have the

option of refusing to believe it! But hardly so with technology;we do not have

the option of refusing to hear the sonic boom produced by a supersonic

aircraft-flying overhead; we do not have the option of refusing to breathe

polluted air. Unlike science, progress in technology must be our slave and not

the reverse. The legitimate purpose of technology is to serve peopie--people in

general, not merely some people; and future generations, not merely those who

presently wish to gain advantage for themselves.

We are all familiar with the abuses of technology. Many people blame

technology itself for widespread pollution, resource depletion and even social

decay in general--so much so that the promise of technology is obscured. That

promise is a cleaner and healthier world. If wise applications of science and

technology do not lead to a better world, what else will?

Every May in Chinese lunar calendar is Dragon Boat Festival, do you know anything about it? Let me speak for you.

Once upon a time, there was a patriotic poet Qu Yuan, once he went to Beijing to go to work, see a decline of state variable, then vote Miluo River to commit suicide. Before he died, he wrote a poem. People in order to commemorate the patriotic poet, the annual Lunar New Year in May at the beginning of a dragon boat festival.

The main contents of the Dragon Boat Festival is the dragon boat racing, zongzi.

Dragon boat racing scene is very lively, crowded shore. Just listen to the sound of gunfire, paddled boat people desperately, but the river is full of cheering.

Rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves, is for filling, with glutinous rice. When the package is very sticky, not professionals, but the package is not good!

According to legend, the dragon boat race is to salvage the Miluo River to die of the patriotic poet Qu Yuan. Threw rice dumplings into the river, is to let the fish and shrimp to eat, not eat Qu Yuans body.

泰宁大金湖是世界级的风景区。大金湖地质公园以丹霞地貌景观为主体，同时还有花岗岩地貌景观和人文景观等点缀其中。

经过4个小时的奔波，到达大金湖已经是中午了。导游带我们去吃饭。吃完饭后，导游就带我们去游览大金湖了。导游买完票后，我们就上船了。船一开动，我就感到一阵阵凉爽的风迎面而来。我就先给你介绍几个景点吧！

甘露寺，已建造了几百年了，关于甘露寺，还有一个传说呢：说是宋朝曾经有一个女子因结婚多年还未生子，就特地从赶来求子。后来女人果然生了一个儿子并高中状元，叶祖恰为母亲还愿而重修了甘露寺。甘露寺奇就奇在它的建筑，整座寺被称之为“一柱插地，不假片瓦”这个寺的建筑也有一个传说：叶祖恰想把寺建在上宽下窄的悬崖上，又不知道怎么建。在一个夜晚，叶祖恰梦见如来佛祖向他伸着食指，叶祖恰不明何意。早晨，他来到树林里散步。看到一个老农用一个y字形的树杈撑起了一根木头。他从中得到启发用一根柱子撑起了甘露寺。

船缓慢地开到了水上一线天，水上一线天只能容纳一艘船进出。我本想可以顺利通过，没想到却堵船了，过了好一会儿，才过去。

金湖沿岸群峰竞秀，林木葱郁，奇岩峭壁，突兀雄立，水环山绕，景象万千，令我流连忘返。大金湖真是美不胜收。
