Every Tuesday and Friday evening sees Miss Li， my neighbor and a secretary in a company rush home after a hard days work， gulp down her meals and then hurry out to catch the bus for her English class. Miss Lis case is not unique， and now more and more city adults spend their leisure time trying to improve themselves at school or college.

There are a number of reasons for people to go back for their education. Some people， like Miss Li， are doing it to acquire another degree or diploma to impress the society. To them more knowledge， or rather， more credentials means more opportunities for better jobs and quicker promotion.

Other people， especially those who are laid off or out of employment go to vocational school to prepare to return to the job market. It is summer vacation and school is out. During summer vacation, most children stay home, watch TV and play with their friends. Some take part in a neighborhood sports program and some go camping. At this camp, children learn how to use computers, which is very important today. Most children enjoy playing computer games. American eating is funny. They eat almost everything with a fork, and it appears that holding a knife in ones right hand longer than a few seconds is considered to be against good table manners.

The system is that if it is absolutely necessary to use a knife, people take the fork in their left hand, and cut off a piece of meat or whatever it is in the normal manner. Then they put the knife down, transfer the fork to their right hand, and only then do they transport the food to their mouth. This is clearly ludicrous(滑稽可笑), but it is considered good manners.

There are several results of this system. First, if it is not absolutely necessary to use a knife, Americans dont use one, because obviously this greatly complicates(使复杂化) things, and you will therefore see them trying to cut things like potatoes, fish and even bacon(熏猪肉) with a fork. Second, towards the end of a course, since only one implement(器具) is being used, food has to bo chased around the plate with the fork - and for the last mouthful the thumb has to be used to keep the food in place, although one is not supposed to do this.

Third, tables are generally laid with one knife and two forks, the outside fork being for the salad. There is no need for foreign visitors to follow the American system and try to eat the salad with only a fork, but if you do use your knife, remerber to save it for the meat course. Even desserts(甜食) (except ice cream) are eaten with a fork if at all possible, and the spoon you see by your dessert is meant to be for coffee (but if you use it for your dessert no one will say anything).

I’m writing to tell you about the discussion we have had about whether an

entrance fee should be charged for parks. 60% of us schoolmates think t hat an

entrance fee do not meet people’s expectations, for a park is considered to be a

place where the public can have a good time when they are not busy either a t

home or at work. If an entrance fee must be paid by the visitors for a park, it

will be necessary to build a gate and surrounding walls. In the end a city will

take on a bad look. 40% of us schoolmates think that an entrance fee can be

accepted, but it must not be too expensive. The money from ticket selling can be

used for paying the gardeners in the par k and buying some other kinds of

flowers and trees.

With regard to myself, I think an entrance fee is useful, for it can be

我们从初一认识到初三三年。很莫名其妙的一个开始，是我们有共同的话题，还是两个人同样置身事外无依？我还是忘了开始，却清晰的记住了最后。

刚认识那会儿，两个人说话文绉绉的招人笑，都也知道两个女生碰到一块什么都谈，当然我们也不例外。品头论足是常有的事。我们同一间教室一起上课一起下课，我们有比她们任何人都多的共同爱好，真的比任何人都多。我们同一宿舍，每晚在楼下疯够了打闹着回去。所有的这些都是再平常不过，但现在这一切都成为了奢望。

她是我最好的朋友，没有之一。可她是她，我是我。她是Y。有共同爱好不假，我们都喜欢读四维的书，初二那时候班主任特别不提倡，于是我们每次偷着跑去图书馆，以至于现在我们和图书室的老师特别熟，也收获了点小特权。我一直以为这是我们最成功的一件事；我们都喜欢吴亦凡，我说大概我们三观太一样；我们都性格怪异，心情时好时坏，坏了也没有理由，我想我们大概上辈子太过欢脱，以至于这辈子只剩了忧郁。( )

初一的时候我和Y都一样。每天沉默的背着包走过绿荫遮蔽的学校主道，穿过教学楼走廊，过着教室餐厅寝室三点一线的生活。那时候还没了解太多，只是整天阴晴不定着。那时候我一直在想，如果我们是像小四和小A一样从小到大的好朋友该有多棒。

初二，最不堪的初二，Y陪我经历了太多我人生中的第一次。我们一起看同级女生之间的闹剧，A和B是好朋友，有一天B有了C，于是A不高兴了，最后三个人都各怀心机。Y跟我说她们和在演宫廷剧一样，我问她谁才是甄嬛。我一直很好奇为什么我们没有吵过一次嘴，而每次我也做到了，我说Y我们吵一架吧，然后咱俩各回各家，然后我就忍不住的大笑。Y总在旁边提醒我注意形象。她说我单纯，说我像孩子，每次我都会反驳，后来渐渐也就无力了，Y词汇量比我丰富，我讲不过她——这是事实。Y比我高，高七八厘米的样子，我一直觉得她把我当孩子也不为过。这是我们在一起的最后一年，初二下学期我们习惯每天晚上在楼下看走读生鱼贯而出的样子，莫名的悲壮美。Y跟我同样向往初三的生活，却没敢想过我们分开。我跟所有人都说我认生，既然我遇到了她那么以后就只有她。我们一起看初三学长学姐从最紧张的复习到中考，最后拖着行李箱离开学校，就像在看我们的以后。两个人站在路灯下终于还是什么都没说。我们会分开，我们都知道。

然后是初三。对没错我们分开了，尽管一墙之隔可却只有晚上遇见的时间。他们说我单飞了，很快我听到了Y说：“我们班主任……”于是我想这么快呀，我们不是一个班主任了。但没事两年过来也都长大了，我们，没必要非要怎么样。一年而已，我们还有未来还会一起笑着笑着突然就安静了。我不知道我现在算是在做些什么，我只知道我只想再逼自己一把，为了将来，为了以后，为了我们缺失的这一年。

可能在很久之前那些叫做记忆的东西已被时光洪文/吕流冲走，但我坚信回忆终究是回忆，眼睛还是需要向前看。

我们还都是被时光带着走的孩子。
