人既是历史的承载者，又是历史的创造者和超越者，人固然不能独立于历史长河之外，却也不应囿于时代的牢笼。

有言：“历史，总是在一些特殊年份给人们以汲取智慧、继续前行的力量。

但仅仅有承载，便容易陷于“黑格尔式”的历史主义幽灵，把整个人类的历史变成一潭死水。加缪所主张的“把一切奉献给现在”，正是阐明了人应超越历史而创造历史的道理。奉献于现在，不正是创造未来的历史吗?在人肯定并承载历史的前提下，人对于历史便拥有了相当的主观能动性，超出历史的那一部分便会转化为历史本身的养料。此时，人虽然还身在历史长河之中，但无意间已然发展了历史，使得今时今日的历史超越了前人的历史。

人对历史的承载和超越，正如英雄造时势和时势造英雄的无限螺旋上升，而上述两者缺一，发展便会停滞。换言之，没有承载的超越是反历史，没有超越的承载是非历史。
