Thanks for your last letter. Im so glad that you have been able (at last! ) to arrange a holiday in Australia. As I fear I wont be able to meet you at the airport when you arrive, nor will I be able to be home until later in the afternoon, so here are some instructions and suggestions.

There is a bus from the airport to the city. It is much cheaper than a cab. Take the bus to the city and ask to get off at Town Hall railway station.

To get to my place in the eastern suburbs you have three options. You can either take a cab, a bus or the train. I suggest you take the train, since the airport bus will leave you right at the station. Get off at Cliff Station. From there you can either walk to my place (about ten minutes) or take a taxi. Probably you should take a taxi as you will have luggage.

When you arrive at my flat, ring the intercom for Flat 2. My friend Lillian will be at home and she will open the front door for you and let you into my flat.

Presumably you will be tired and want to sleep. But if you feel like some exercise after that long flight, you could stroll down to Cooper Park, which is only ten minutes away ? you can see it from the window.

我喜欢下象棋。星期六的晚上，我让爸爸陪我下象棋，爸爸爽快的答应了。

摆好棋我们就开始下了，我要红子，爸爸要黑子。我先出马，爸爸先来个当头炮。爸爸还把车放在河界上，我的马一上去，正高兴爸爸没用炮打我的兵，突然来了个车，把我的马又赶了回去，我发现挡不住他的攻势就连忙出车，爸爸见了也把他的马啊车啊都出来了。可是我的车、马和炮刚到河界就剩三个了。我想，刚到河界，五个就剩了三个，照这样下去可怎么办？我急得团团转。

突然，我想起来还有一个车没出来，想把它走出来，可是我这才发现我的车出不去了，一个车出不去，我的老将就会受到威胁。我急中生智，想了一个围魏救赵的计谋。我把剩下的车、马炮都用来攻击爸爸的老将，虽然没有把爸爸将死，但还是调走了他围攻我的棋子。接着，爸爸的棋子被我调走后，我又趁火打劫，将的爸爸团团转。爸爸也知道了我的厉害，开始发动决战，把炮放在上面，车放在下面，等我一飞象，爸爸把车一拉，去吃我的车还将我的军。就这样我的棋被吃的只剩下了马。接着我的马也牺牲了。顿时，爸爸那边尘土飞扬，一连三个卒子过了河，我束手无策，一下子被将死了。

虽然我下棋下不过爸爸，但是我还是喜欢和爸爸下棋，因为我喜欢下象棋。

英语念起来干枯无聊，我偶尔往前面望去，有一排同学没事可做，竟然搞起敢死队的工作——在英语老师的眼皮子底下看漫画书，晕。更为巧合的是――竟然都是坐在一排的人！怀疑是不是串通好了的呢。

敢死队员1号：小心翼翼型

这位队员一边看着书，一边虎视耽耽地望着老师。瞧，他刚翻一页，就抬头看看老师，接着又翻一页，然后有抬头望望老师，这样重复循环，真不知道他把内容看进去没有。看见老师的目光没有扫向他，他赶紧抓住机会连翻几页，然后突然抬头，盯着老师。

敢死队员2号：动作怪怪型

这位队员可有点怪了，看着书，一会儿掏掏鼻子，一会儿打打哈欠，一会儿摸摸耳朵，一副惟恐天下不乱的样子，好像不让老师发现他的举动就不甘心似的，真是个怪人。

敢死队员3、4号：谈天说地型

这两位同学有些不把老师放在眼里了，边看书边聊天。我隐隐约约听见他们说冒险岛OL，说漫画内容，说小说，说娱乐咨询，就连老师和同学的目光扫向他们，也无济于事。

敢死队员5号：边学边看型

这位同学好像有些明白学习的重要性，看了几分钟的书，马上立起来听老师的讲课。课上一半时，老师为了扫查班上的敢死队，把同学们一个叫起一个问问题。这下可让这群敢死队员们开始惶恐不安了，他们连书都顾不着看呢。而这位队员呢，看一会儿就学学，这一招算是对他的MISS了。

敢死队员6号：理直气壮型

这位同学可是班上的霸王级分子了（注：别乱想，不是我啊），他可是一人之下，几十人之上，谁敢对他不敬，他的落雷马上就落在你头上了，（注：我已经欠了他3顿打了，要不是我能帮他弄电脑作业，我早就魂飞天了）因此每人敢告发他。不知是她的好运还是老师放水，他这样看了一堂课，竟然都没半点被批评，真太不公平了！！

谁知道，老师从天而降，为了抓住敢死分子，居然来个背后突袭，到所有座位后边地毯式搜索。5名敢死队员唰地一声，在同一时间内放下书，装起乖乖。只有敢死队员6号稳如泰山，而老师的目光明明瞄准了他，可老师却好像在放水一样，竟纵容他在自己眼皮子底下活动，真气死人了！而其他5位的敢死队员便无机可乘，只好乖乖停课，唯独6号占了便宜。

Humor is a flavor of our lives. Humor can soften relationship between

people; humor can adjust the atmosphere of different occasions; humor can bring

more fun and joy to our lives.

First, humor is very necessary in communicating with others because it can

soften relationship between people. In the process of getting along with others,

the occurrence of difference and contradiction is inevitable. Sometimes, when we

want to persuade others to agree with our points, we will find that our points

are easier to be accepted if we argue in a humorous tone.

Second, humor can adjust the atmosphere of different occasions. A person

小鸟飞过树梢，唱一首美妙的歌给大树听，以回报大树的恩情。我们去到亲人家，帮助他们做着事，不仅为了报恩，更多的是送去美好的祝福。助福他们越活越年轻啊！在我们看来在简单不过的事，他们却要做许久看着这一幕，我不禁感叹万千！

也许在几十年前，他们也和我们一样，充满了青春的活力；也许在几十年后，我们也和他们一样，失去了以前的青春。

看着他们蹒跚的步履，不禁想到：这是不是我们以后的样子呢？

帮着他们做事真的很快乐呢！不只因为让他们减少了负担，更多的是因为我明白了时光的价值：

“时光一去不复返”，不错的，时光是不会逆流的，青春是不会回头的。我们不能去阻止它，也阻止不了它。所以，去珍惜吧！去珍惜美好的青春吧！去珍惜短暂的时光吧！

当我去到外婆家是，她眼的笑意谁都看的出。外婆年级大了，手脚不像以前麻利，做事不方便。但谁又能看出，就是这个年级大，手脚不麻利的外婆，将五个子女养大成人的呢？

也许，我们以后也会和外婆一样，手脚不麻利。但是，我们也都曾有过美好的青春。

现在的我们，唯有珍惜，珍惜时光，珍惜青春，珍惜还活着的人，赶紧去尽孝，时光不等人哪！否则，后悔是没有用的！正如王维在《九月九日忆山东兄弟》写道“独在异乡为异客，每逢佳节倍思亲”。等到一切都没有的时候，后悔可是没用的。老人一个人在家很孤独，家以经不完整了，趁现在还来得及，回家陪陪老人吧！

As for me, I have a special emotion to autumn. Autumn always gives me a

kind of feeling which can make me forget sorrow. Every time when autumn comes, I

am always glad to feel the beautiful season. I can enjoy myself in this great

season.

I like the wind of autumn. It is cool and comfortable. When the wind kisses

my face, I will close my eyes and smile. I know that wind brings me the breath

of autumn. She lets me understand that autumn is full of happiness. I can smell

and taste autumn everywhere. The view of the autumn will give me a huge

enjoyment. As for me, the wind in autumn is the best present. I am deeply

attracted by the autumn wind. This taste of autumn is delicious.

I also love autumn colors. The leaves will turn yellow in autumn. This kind

of yellow represents hope and maturity. When I see these yellow leaves, I will

think that they still enter into the soil and will give the tree adequate

nutrition. Thus, they never leave the tree. I am moved by this sentiment. This

phenomenon gives me many thoughts about human society. I believe that our

I really appreciate autumn quality. In my eyes, autumn is just a mature

person. And her love requires no return. In this season, when I walk on the way,

I can feel her sincerity and her firmness. Although she can’t speak one word, I

can learn something from her. This taste of autumn is pregnant and

attractive.

Autumn is my favorite season and I will go on to feel autumn. Autumn also

makes me have a deeper understanding of cherishing everything that I have

now.

When autumn comes, I will be very excited, because it is my favorite

season. In autumn, the weather is neither too hot nor too cold, and I could

sleep well. I especially like to go hiking at this season, then we can enjoy the

picnic at the same time. When I reach the top, the cool wind makes me feel so

When I go to school, teachers always tell me that we should make used of

我将书放下，像是品味美味一样地舔了舔嘴，将书合上了。虽然眼睛很疼，但我很开心。此时我感受到了林海音窃读的滋味——我是快乐的，也是惧怕的！

The shortage of housing is one of the most serious problems facing many big

cities in China. Though the government has spent a large sum of money on

housing,the investment has not been very resultful and a housing shortage still

exists. Two generations sharing one room and newlymarried couples finding it

Peoples attitudes towards the solution to the housing problem are

different. Some suggest building more tall apartment buildings; others believe

opinion. For one thing, it is cheaper to build upward than downward. For

another, living underground for a long time will do harm to peoples health.

Above all,people are unwilling to live underground with artificial lighting and

they prefer to live normally on the ground to enjoy the sunshine.

Although there may be some other ways to solve the housing shortage

problem, I believe to build more apartment buildings is one of the feasible

solutions to the housing problem.

光阴似箭，日月如梭。六年的小学时光即将过去。当我即将离开母校的时候，我会想起了我在这校园里的难忘生活。

我难忘那校园里老师那孜孜不倦的教诲，我难忘我与同学们的欢声笑语。想到这些，我就想到了老师三年级对我的那一次教诲。

那时我在班上成绩不太理想。一天，正是上语文老师的课，语文老师提出问题之后环视四周。看见我似乎有些心不在焉，便叫道：“李博为，你来回答这道问题。”当我站起来后结结巴巴也吐不出几个字。老师顿时发火了：“李博为，课是怎么听的，下课后到我办公室里去。”那时我的心有些害怕起来，因为老师以前每发火叫人进办公室的人无一人不是哭着出来的。

下课了，我忐忑不安的走进办公室，本以为这是一次打骂，结果却是……当我站到办公室里我本来做好了被打的心理准备。没想到，这时，老师开口了：“博为，事实上你并不是一个笨孩子，只不过还有很大的进步空间。你是一个聪明的孩子，只不过缺少了一样，那就是学习的态度还需要有所提高。我相信你，只要你把学习的态度端正，多花点会见学习。如果这样长期下去的话你的成绩就会提高的。听完这句话我被深深的感动了，在默默里想着我一定要努力学习。

就是这样的一件事情驱使我去了补习班学习，至今我记得老师的那一次教诲。因为正是老师给予了我的那一次教育，成为了我小学生活之中的一部分，也是最让我小学生活难忘的一部分。
