一转眼的时间，新中国的成立早已过去了xx多年。现在的家乡一扫过去穷苦的面貌，换来了一副崭新面孔。人们也来了个大翻身。家乡大变了。

家乡经济发达了，美丽富饶了。

家乡的北面原来的荒田孤地变成了一座座工厂，这工厂使我们发家致富，开始幸福的生活。再北面一条清澈的运河从一间间高大又整洁的农家洋房间穿过，一艘艘轮船运送着南来北往的货物。两岸更是绿草如茵，鸟语花香。

We couldnt believe that it was a village. The buildings for the farmers were very beautiful, the streets were very clean and there were many flowers in front of the houses. In the middle of the village there was a school with a wonderful building and a large playground. All the children in the village study there.

The farmers got richer by planting vegetables and raising silkworms. In their houses there were colour TV sets, fridges,washing machines, new furniture and even motorbikes. All these showed the farmers life was getting better and better.

我的家乡在茂名，我们茂名有一个独特的节日——年例。顾名思义，年例就是年年有此例。年例来由历史悠久，早在明清时期的地方志就有记载，光绪《茂名县志风俗》载：“自十二月到是月（农历二月）乡人傩，沿门逐鬼，唱土歌，谓之年例。”也就是说，在年例那一天要进行游神，用于驱鬼。

“游神”就是把神像抬起来，绕着村子走一圈，据说这样做可以驱鬼，也可以保佑自己家以及全村的村民身体健康，五谷丰登。说起游神，这里面还有一个小故事：传说在光绪时期，有一个地方出现罕见的大旱灾，当地的县官不忍心看到老百姓处于水深火热之中，便开仓救人。谁知县官因为这件事得罪了朝廷，有一大批官员上奏将他斩首示众。在他行刑前的一个晚上，他梦见了一位神仙，神仙对他说：“你是个好人，你不应该死的，当你重新生活后，要把我抬出来绕着村子走一圈，以保佑全村各家平安、吉祥、五谷丰登。”第二天，他果然没死，他再三回忆着梦，发现梦中神仙与小庙里的安济圣王长得一模一样。于是这个地方便有了年例，也就是游神这样一个习俗。当然，每个地方抬的神像不一样，我们茂名所抬的神像是观音菩萨像。

年例不仅要游神，还要在家中摆上十几围的酒席，菜主要是白切鸡、鸭、炒白菜、炒米粉……在年例，每家每户都要赶回家乡，准备酒席、食物、饮料等东西。年例一定要吃鸡、鸭、鹅，这样可以保佑自家的鸡鸭鹅不受病毒感染，而且越养越多。

年例是我们家乡一个独特的节日，它拥有独特的习俗，所以我们一直保留着这个节日。

On Sunday morning, my parents took me to the zoo. We dint go there for a long time.

Last week, my classmates told me that the zoo added some funny entertainment facilities. I was very curious. So, I asked my parents to took me there and they promised to. We got there at 9 oclock. There were many people. Most of them were parents and children.

We first went to see the animal. I like parrots most. And then we saw the animal shows. Elephants, tigers, lions and monkeys did wonderful shows for us. People were happy, especially the children.

After that, we went to experienced the entertainment facilities. My mum was too scared to be with us. So, only my dad and I played. It was so exciting, but I was a little dizzy. However, I was very happy.

It was a great day.
