我的家乡在常熟，素有“鱼米之乡”之誉。随着改革开放的不断深入，常熟从昨天到今朝，起了翻天覆地的变化。现在的常熟像一条巨龙正冲出亚洲，走向世界。

回首昨天，常熟贫穷落后，路是坑坑洼洼的黄土路；房子是简简单单的稻草房；街上也仅开着几家小店铺，出售的东西少得可怜……放眼今朝，改革开放的春风吹遍了每一个角落，一座座高楼大厦拔地而起；一条条水泥大道通向四方，商场、工厂犹如雨后春笋般遍布全市……

常熟巨变，变得让人简直不敢相信自己的双眼。朋友，这可是美好的事实，下面来谈谈我家芭蕉扇的变迁，就可以让你更深地体会到这不平凡的变迁。

现在有芭蕉扇的人家已经不多了，我家早已经没有了。听奶奶说，我爸爸小时候，每到赤日炎炎的夏天，我家的芭蕉扇就成了爷爷、奶奶、爸爸和姑姑们的贴身“佣人”。一到晚上，全家搬了椅子到桥上，一边扇着扇子，一边跟邻居从天南讲到地北，从以前扯到未来，越说越有趣。而那芭蕉扇在手里又是扇风，又是驱赶蚊子。但芭蕉扇毕竟是靠手扇的，扇久了，手就酸。自从我家买了电风扇以后，这芭蕉扇自然也就被“冷落”了。

那是八十年代末，父母们商量买一台落地扇。一天，一台崭新的落地扇来到我家。我心里甭提多高兴，一会儿摸摸开关，一会儿吹上一阵……打这以后，我总是抢着扇电风扇。没多久，爸爸妈妈发现一台电风扇不够用了。到底是谁扇好呢？于是，他们商量再买两台电风扇。一台装在厨房里，一台装在我的小房间里。这样，我们走到哪儿就凉快到哪儿，再也用不着抢了。而那把芭蕉扇渐渐被“冷落”了。

最近，一台长方体的东西落户到我家，我的家又多了一位新成员，那便是空调。严寒的冬天，只要一打开空调，那里面就会释放出暖气，人在房间里感到温暖无比；酷暑的夏天，我只要一打开空调，那里面就会释放出冷气，人在房间里一边吃西瓜一边看电视，那感觉就甭提有多舒服了，真是心旷神怡。空调真是我家的好成员，而那几台电风扇又该“退休”了。
