The International Childrens Day (ICD) is celebrated in numerous countries, usually (but not always) on June 1 each year.

The ICD had its origin in the World Conference for the Wellbeing of Children in Geneva, Switzerland in 1925. Fifteen minutes before my turn, I picked my topic and prepared for it. I wrote down the outlines and organized what I was going to say. However, when I stood in front of all judges and students, I was extremely nervous. My mind was totally empty.

Then I took a deep breath to relax myself and started my speech. The result was not as good as I expected, but I preferred to regard it as a challenge to myself, whose process was the most important for me. I can learn a lot from this contest. I am sure I will be better next time.

我们为什么要拥有梦想，因为没有梦想的人往往沉溺在自己的幻想中，不可自拔。古龙曾说：“梦想绝不是梦。两者之间的差别通常有一段非常值得人们深思的距离。”要问那些“家里蹲”的学子为什么没了梦想，那是因为他在幻想、在做梦，他没有发现梦想和梦有着天壤之别。

当然，空有梦想若无实际行动，梦想就是空想、幻想，就是白日梦!在大学里，有很多坚持自己的目标并为之奋斗的人，当然也有不止一次的说要干什么干什么，时间一长，便没了耐心与坚持而抛之脑后的同学。就像很多考研的学生，跟着很多人一起加入了考研大军，但是真正坚持并一条路心无旁骛地走完的没有几个。其实，不管实现梦想的路再长，心之所愿，无事不成。放弃的人也只有两个理由可诉：要么没坚持，要么坚持的不够。那些能一条道走到底的人，不管结果如何，至少不愧对自己。
