What Can We Do for the Environment

Hello,everyone. Im Li Hua. Its nice to speak about what we can do for the environment,and I think each of us can do a little bit to help with this problem.

The first thing we can do is to use cloth bags in stead of plastic bags when we go shopping. It helps to protect the environment. The second thing we can do is to reuse the old textbooks as possible as we can. We should also never forget to turn off the lights when we leave the classrooms in order to save energy. 春天到了，学校组织我们去西安研学旅行参观曲江海洋公园和青龙寺遗址公园。一大早同学们在老师的带领下坐大巴来到了十三朝古都西安，在曲江海洋公园一下车就看到了郁郁葱葱的大树和姹紫嫣红的花朵，这里的环境和空气真好啊！

曲江海洋公园由四馆八区组成，其中海豚表演馆是同学们最喜欢的。我也迫不及待的跑向海洋馆门口，突然脚下被什么东西滑了一下摔倒在地上，我在同学的帮助下站起来看见脚下有一节小小的电池，我忍着疼痛把它捡起来扔在了垃圾桶。突然想起我在科普书里看到：一节一号的电池烂在地里可以使一平方公里的土壤失去了利用的价值；一粒纽扣大的电池可以使600吨水受到污染，可600吨水相当于一个人一生的饮水量。若将废旧电池混入生活垃圾一起埋了或者随手一扔，渗出的汞及其他金属物体就会渗透土壤污染地下水，破坏环境影响人们的生活和身体健康。

废旧电池的危害虽然不能马上看到，也就好像抽烟一样时间久了才能知道它的坏处。平时人们总说：它的危害也不大嘛，没必要大惊小怪呀！可我觉得这话是对社会和子孙后代不负责任的。电池的污染和危害给环境和人造成的损害是无法想象的，废旧电池可以让人损害神经系统，甚至可以致癌，这都是有科学依据的。

保护地球，保护生态环境是我们每一个人的责任，这是我们都知道的一句话，可有多少人能真正做到这一句话呢？

记得我有一次去外婆家，外婆家里都干干净净的，却有一股酸酸臭臭的气味从窗户传过来，我跑过去一看，原来是一条小河，只见那条小河浑身发黑发臭，风一吹，臭味迎面扑来，使人不得不紧紧捂住口鼻，而且还有许多纸袋在河面上飘着，这条河怎么会这样呢？我带着疑问去问了外婆，外婆他说“在我小时候，这条河清澈无比，有许多小鱼小虾在河里面欢快的生活，而且没到夏天炎热的时候，我们都会成群结队的到河里游泳或抓一些小鱼小虾回去。而现在，人们不讲卫生，把垃圾扔到河里，逐渐的，河水发黑发臭，小鱼小虾全都死了。在夏天时，别说游泳了，连经过时也要捂住鼻口，迅速走过”。“那没人管吗？”我又问道。外婆回答说“我们曾经在河边立了一个牌子，上面写着：‘爱护小河，请别往小河扔垃圾，所以就不管了。”听完外婆的话我陷入了沉思，如果时间上人人到处扔垃圾的话，那地球上一定会脏乱不堪吧。所以请爱护地球，保护生态环境。

保护环境，从我做起，从点点滴滴做起，我们应该保护花草树木，珍稀水质源。如果每个人都少用一滴水，那一定能使一条条干枯的小河重获升级。为了地球的明天，人类的未来，让我们行动起来，节约能源，保卫家园，从我们身边做起。
