To the Chinese people it is as important as Christmas to people in the West. the dates for this annual celebration are determined by the lunar calendar rather than the GREgorian calendar, so the timing of the holiday varies from late January to early February.

To the ordinary Chinese, the festival actually begins on the eve of the lunar New Year’s Day and ends on the fifth day of the first month of the lunar calendar. 接着，我们穿过了寺庙到千佛岩。据说以前的皇帝很信佛，就让石匠去雕刻佛像。可是，刻到最后，石匠们数来数去，都少一个，最后一个就是刻不成，其中一个石匠为了不让其他石匠被误会，就跳进石洞中，立地成佛。我非常佩服是将舍己为人的精神。正当我想得出神的时候，爸爸对我说：“晓淇，你快过来看。”我走过去一看，在我眼前的是有两个我那么高大的一尊佛像，我过去拜了拜，便跟爸爸妈妈爷爷奶奶离开了。
