小时候，我总喜欢把所有的快乐像押宝似的押在除夕这一天。这一天，我可以吃到香喷喷的猪肉白菜馅饺子;这一天，我可以穿着新衣服在院子中嬉戏;更重要的是，这一天，父母可以放下繁重的工作，带我出去逛庙会、串亲戚。因此，除夕是一年中最快乐的一天。后来渐渐长大，发现除夕并不是那样甜，似乎有些酸、有些涩。除夕中蕴藏着一个个回家的故事。每一个主人公便是远在他乡的游子，他们讲述着不同的远行故事，却有着相同的人生感悟——过年回家。那一年，姑姑插队回家，爸爸和爷爷、奶奶的除夕夜充满了泪水，晶莹的泪光代替了所有的语言。那一年，我们拆迁，拆掉的是我们拥有童年、青春、回忆的“家”。除夕，我忘记了怎样度过，只是依稀记得雪花纷飞，我们穿行在北京的各个街道，望着万家灯火的北京城，看着别人过年。现在想想，那一年，的确很艰难。时光荏苒，爷爷、奶奶渐渐地老去。泪水的咸味、坚忍的苦味围绕了他们一辈子，除夕却使他们的苦难、辛酸凝结成金黄的透明琥珀，在流光的照耀下，熠熠发光。堆成小山的礼品并不是他们最想要的，他们只求儿女平安，能够常回家看看。他们愿意在除夕那天，把自己的宝贝拿出来。一张张过期的粮票，一双双崭新的鞋垫。每一样东西都是那样珍贵。他们愿意活着，愿意和儿女过除夕，愿意享受爱的味道。

北京对于过年的食俗是十分讲究的。年夜饭在每一个家庭占有举足轻重的地位，也许是“糕”与“高”谐音，又有喜庆和吉祥的好彩头，因此年糕是我家必备的。蒸一屉的时间总是那样漫长，好像过了一个世纪。在揭盖的一瞬间，一团雪白的蒸汽扑面而来，香味也弥漫了整个厨房。“肉皮冻儿”做法简单，价廉物美，深受大家的爱戴。黄豆(要泡过)、胡萝卜、花生、肉皮，和白肉汤同煮，加上少许酱油和盐，煮熟后盛入容器中，凉了以后自然凝结成块。食用时，再蘸一些腊八醋，味道真是美极了。“初一的饺子，初二的面，初三的合子往家转。”每一天都有着不同的习俗，初一不必说，初二吃面是为了挑寿，祈愿可以长命百岁，初三则因为合子是圆形的，可以“转”，意思是往家里多赚钱，取财源滚滚的意思。初五俗称“破五”，这一天，捏紧饺子就代表着捏住了小人的嘴，不让他们拨弄是非。

庙会的热闹是显而易见的。人们带着喜气，各自逛的不亦乐乎，精细地挑选着适合的年货，摩肩接踵的人流，满载而归的收获，透出了过年的气氛。此起彼伏的吆喝声，汇聚成一首首欢快的交响曲在人们耳边回荡，抱着玩具、提着灯笼，大人、小孩，老人、青年，每个人脸上都洋溢着幸福的微笑。

元宵节又称“上元节”，含有新的一年第一次月圆之夜的意思。月圆人团圆，各家各户围坐在一起，吃着元宵，谈论着关于历史的传说。正月十五闹元宵，一个“闹”字就把元宵节那种喜悦表现的淋漓尽致。据说，旧时北京为了庆祝元宵节，夜晚灯市口街道的两旁会点燃彩灯，照耀得北京城如白昼一般明亮。人们三个一群、两个一伙地观赏着造型奇特的灯笼，争相猜灯谜，那种热闹感觉从不亚于过除夕。
