也抹不去过去中华人民所受的耻辱！“南京大屠杀”、“卢沟桥事变”、“圆明园的毁灭”……外国侵略者在中国的土地上犯下了累累的罪行，虽然侵略者烧杀抢夺，无恶不做！但是中国人们绝不低头，因为他们知道还有中国共产党保护着他们！激励着他们勇敢站起来！“起来，不愿做奴隶的人们，把我们的血肉筑成我们新的长城……”爱国英雄田汉在牢狱中忍受着鞭打，但是他创造了这一首豪情壮志的歌，歌词中鼓励着中华人民不要怕害侵略者们的恶毒野蛮，要跟这些逆贼做斗争！在这场持续了八年的战争中也涌现出了许许多多的爱国英雄，他们宁死不屈：解放军战士董存瑞抱着炸弹与敌人同归于尽而身亡、江姐面对敌人的严刑拷打，仍不透露中国共产党的机密文件最后死在了敌人的枪下、黄继光为了不让敌人发现同志们的位置，火烧在身上连一句都不吭，最后不幸死去……啊！像这样的英雄，还有许许多多，他们的事迹真令我们后代的子子孙孙敬佩呀！在中华人民的团结终于结束了这漫长的八年战争，中国迎来了渴望已久的和平！有一个人听到这个消息后，万分激动，放下在美国的名誉，地位，金钱，抛开一切从国外回来了，他就是——钱学森！但一切却并不那么容易，在他激动的时候，他带着全家人购买了飞机票，准备出发时却遭受到了美国移民局的通知：不准回国！他们诬赖又因为其他的事情给扣押了，这件事情引起了美国科学界的公愤，坚决抵制这样的行为，在每个人的帮助下，他终于回来了！为了国家的建设做出了卓越的贡献，

被誉为“中国航天之父”“中国导弹之父”“中国自动化控制之父”和“火箭之王”，由于钱学森回国效力，中国导弹、原子弹的发射向前推进了至少20年。随着国家的发展，

第一，对于在众人面前言谈存在一种恐惧，这是一种对未知、潜意识里的恐惧，并非个别现象，除非他从小习惯了在众人面前说话，众人对其很友好，而且他身边没有对他表示负面情绪的人。有一份调查报告表明，在参加口才学习的学生中，大约百分之九十的学员在刚上课时，均有上台的恐惧，甚至于高达百分之百。

第二，轻微的恐惧感来源于对别人目光的意思的未知，因为我们本身拥有一定的信心与勇气，所以当我们受到众多未知目光的挑战时，我们以自我为中心的思想也被激发出来。当我们脉搏加快、呼吸急促时，此时身体是在为即将到来的行动做准备。如果生理准备正好适度的话，你会因此思考得更快，话也说得更流畅，反而会比普通情况下说得更加精彩。

第三，就连许多从事职业演说的朋友也表示，他们几乎从未完全摆脱过紧张感。每次都会有害怕的感觉产生，一直持续到开口演讲前的几句话。

第四，主要的原因是不习惯。《思想的形成》的作者鲁滨逊讲过：“恐惧来源于无知与不确定。”对多数人而言，当众演讲是一种不确定因素，因此心里总不免有焦虑和恐惧。尤其是演讲新手，这种特征尤为明显。怎么办呢?练习!只有《反复练习才能拥有好口才》。当拥有了演讲经验之后，讲话便不再是痛苦，反而可能成为一种表达自我的享受了。

第五，演讲最根源其实总结就两个方面。一：期望值，你对于一件事情有一个很高的期望值，很希望自己能在当众演讲时能够把自己最好的一面展现出来，让他人认同自己。二：把握度，往往你对于这件事情没有足够的把握度，中间就会以紧张代替，期望值越高把握度越低你的紧张也就越大。

以上是登台演讲的五种典型因素，不过，登台恐惧实际上是正常的，要学会运用好这种恐惧感，通过克服它，提升的不仅仅是演说能力，还有勇气、信心和对成功的向往。

听了那感人的演讲，我的眼泪都快要流出来了。因为，我妈妈给我付出了多少爱啊。

我知道我妈妈在我身边，但我都没有发觉妈妈给我付出了多少。听了那个小姑娘离家出走的故事，就因为妈妈说他马虎，她就离家出走。其实，她都不知道，她妈妈是对她好，而且，她妈妈给那小姑娘付出了很多。我以前从来就没有发现我妈妈对我苦心。不过，我今天看了这个演讲才发现，我妈妈十年对我的付出了很多苦心，给我穿的，吃的，玩的……

我很后悔，这么多年来妈妈给我的苦心都白费了。所以，我们的每一个同学都要知道妈妈爸爸十年来的苦心。而且，要学习努力。虽然现在才发现爸爸妈妈的苦心，但是，我长大了要给爸妈的回报。如果现在的事还依赖爸爸妈妈，那你长大后怎么办呢?

记得莎士比亚曾经说过：“生活里没有书籍，就好像没有阳光，智慧里没有书籍，就好像鸟儿没有翅膀。”当我们烦恼时，书会带给我们快乐;当我们无助时，书会带给我们知识与力量;当我们毫无目标地徘徊时，书会带给我们理想的目标。

明天就轮到我演讲了，我又紧张又开心。这可是我第一次演讲呀，一定要好好准备。

回到家，我马上准备演讲稿，接着对着镜子开始一遍又一遍地练习，直到满意为止。

第二天，我自信满满地来到学校，上课了，演讲马上就要开始了，我紧张的心脏都快要跳出来了，我不停地跟自己说：“别慌，别慌，已经把稿子读熟了。可麻烦事发生了，我一摸兜，发现演讲稿忘带了。天哪！急的我眼泪都快掉下来了，没稿子我可怎么演讲啊，放弃？太丢人了，再说也来不及了，那就硬着头皮上吧，我战战兢兢地站在讲台上，开始了演讲。凭着记忆，我磕磕绊绊地说着，因为紧张，我老是停顿，不知道该说什么，我不敢看同学，只能看着天花板，手攥得紧紧的，都攥出汗了。忽然我大脑一片空白，一点都想不起来了，这下怎么办？我慌了神，只听见讲台下同学们小声地嘀咕着什么，我努力的让自己镇定，忽然，演讲稿的内容又回到了我的脑子里，我赶紧讲了下去，终于演讲完了，长舒了一口气，走了下来，感觉自己一下子轻松了。

第一次演讲，让我现在想起来都觉得紧张，下次演讲再也不敢忘带演讲稿了。

大家好，我是来自某年某班的某某，首先，我给大家讲一个故事。

一次，有个人到河边钓鱼，遇到一个捕蟹的老人，身背一个大蟹篓，但没有上盖。他出于好心，提醒老人说：“大伯，你的蟹篓忘了盖上。”老上慈祥地看了他一眼，说：“小伙子谢谢你的好意，但我想告诉你：蟹篓可以不盖。要是有蟹爬出来，别的蟹就会把它钳住，结果谁都跑不掉。”

《礼记》中说：“君子贵人贱己，先人而后己。”我希望同学们能做到先人后己，同时又能：送人玫瑰，手有余香。

那大国工匠都是什么样的工人?他们都是在第一线辛勤工作的平凡工人，他们有钳工，有捞纸工，有研磨工等等，无一例外，都是平凡的普通工人，他们不是领导，不是富翁，甚至不是高学历，但他们每一个人都靠着对职业技能的完美追求，靠着对技术的忠实传承和钻研，靠着几十年如一日的专注和坚守，与平凡的工作中掌握不平凡的技能，成为国家国宝级的顶级技工，成为一个领域不可或缺的人才。

我们在工作中也是一样，有时候我们忙，我们会累，我们会烦，我们会厌倦，可我们换位思考一下，大国工匠们他们难道不累吗?难道不厌倦吗?胡双钱守着台虎钳就

我是二(2)班的李欣桐，我向你们汇报我快乐的读书生活。

踏入校门一年多的时间里，我收获了许多，爱上读书是我的一大丰收，读书让我成长，读书让我快乐。

记得一年级时，一学完拼音，老师就带领着我们自主地阅读各类书籍，有童话、有绘本、有小说、有科普读物。我被书本里精彩的内容、色彩鲜艳的插图深深地吸引住了。《小巴掌童话》、《笨猪的故事》、《鳄鱼怕怕医生怕怕》、《猜猜我有多爱你》、《皮皮鲁系列》、《法布尔昆虫记》……我每天都坚持着看书半个小时以上的好习惯。寒假时，我随姑姑到惠州去玩，晚上躺在姑姑家的床上，辗转反侧，怎么也睡不着，总觉得缺点什么，原来是没有带书去看的缘故。第二天，我就要姑姑陪我到书店买书去了。书成了我一个形影不离的好朋友了。在上学期的著名儿童文学作家商晓娜的签书活动中，我用了两个星期就把买来的四本书读完了。在上学期班级的换书活动中，我也拿出了《窗边的小豆豆》和《》这两本书来进行图书资源共享，从同学们带来的各种各样的图书里，我了解到更多的优秀文学作品。因此，我多次被评为学校的读书大王。

朋友，如果我问你什么是最高兴的事，也许你回答出各种各样的答案，但是，你无论如何也不会想到我们一位战士的回答，他说是“见到人”，见到人是最高兴的事。是啊，也许你会觉得诧异，但这却是酒泉卫星发射中心专用铁路巡线员的真实写照。这是今年春节我在军报上看到的一篇感人的--不!应该说是震撼心灵的报道。

自从我国在巴丹吉林沙漠深处建起酒泉卫星发射中心，就有了一条横穿戈壁、直达发射场的300公里的专用铁路。它是现在全国惟一一条由军队管理的铁路。路边上，孤零零有几座被称为“点号”的小屋，“点号”四周，沙海无边，荒凉得象月球，只有几丛骆驼刺在寒风中颤抖。“点号”里，就蹲着三两个长年巡线护路的兵。他们每天与外界交往的时间是一分钟。因为每天有趟军用列车路过这里，扔下点邮件和给养，停留一分钟。这就是他们见到人的惟一时刻。日复一日、年复一年的寂寞，这一分钟也就成了他们久久盼望的、也是他们最最高兴的时刻。

今年大年初一，一位记者到被称为“180”的小点号采访，那里住着小赵和小张两个士兵。小赵是一位来自江苏的已有3年兵龄的老兵，他说，他每天要去巡线一趟，每趟来回走20公里，当兵三年，相当于步行回老家一趟。新兵小张是四川中江黄继光家乡的人，他到点号的第二次巡线就遇上被称作“黑风”的沙暴，天地间黑压压一片，沙石劈头盖脸往身上砸，他说他抱紧铁轨整整一小时不敢动弹，差点没被埋在沙包里。说话间，小赵的姐姐从老家打来了电话，姐姐问：“你那里过年热闹吗?”小赵说：“热闹得很，有3个人呢，还有一条大黄狗”。“你那里冷吗?”，“不冷，暖和得很，才零下20度”。“你都3年没有回家了，爸妈以为你今年能回来过年，特意杀了猪，还几次到路口去守公交车。”这时，小赵的喉头滚了好几下，愣了半天，终于没能“幽默”出来。当记者告辞时，他俩紧紧地握住记者的手，久久不想松开，眼睛里突然溢出泪光，那眼神似乎在不加掩饰的恳求着：再留一会儿吧，哪怕是一分钟!

啊，一分钟，多么令人心颤的一分钟!看到这儿，我的心被震撼了，泪水也止不住掉了下来。我想，别说他们在那里要为我国在世界高技术领域占有一席之地，为实现中华民族千百年来的“飞天”梦想而拼搏，就是呆在那儿，也是奉献。 是的，作为军人，我知道，在雪山，在海岛，在荒原，在戈壁，有无数与小赵小张一样的士兵，为了祖国的强盛和人民的安宁，在默默忍受着艰辛与寂寞。作为军人，我更懂得，是军人这特殊的职业赋予了军人特殊的使命，特殊的使命赋予了军人特殊的追求。军人，也许就意味着奉献与牺牲。 难道不是吗?翻开中国革命的历史画卷，不难发现，其中最引人注目的便是那些为了祖国和人民的利益而驰骋疆场、马革裹尸的军人。从万里长征、八年抗战、南征北战到自卫还击、抗震救灾、抗洪抢险，多少年来，这支人民的军队，在党的绝对领导之下，经受着无数次血与火的洗礼，一次又一次向党和人民交出合格的答卷!就说那300公里航天大动脉，当年修建时就有120名忠骨埋在了沙丘。

小时候，我曾羡慕穿身军装，现在我终于实现了这个梦想，如今，我又跨进全军的高等学府――国防科技大学的校门。在这里，我又读到许许多多的银河人，他们将银河精神在新时代高高奏响，为响应江总书记“科技强军”的号召，在夜以继日的、默默的耕耘与劳作。 周光铭院士在接受记者采访时说过这样一句话：“我一生也就做了六台机器。”朋友，你想想，这六台是什么样的机器啊!难道还不够吗?这，就是我们老一代银河人的骄傲!

在研制银河Ⅲ期间，卢锡城同志带领年轻人向新的技术制高点冲击，有11名同志是在攻关战斗中度过新婚蜜月的，不少人连续三次春节都在机房里度过。就是凭着这种精神，他们创造了新的辉煌。这，就是新一代银河人的自豪! 如今，再看看我这身军装，我应该掂得出她的份量。在新的历史时期，我们军队仍然肩负着重大的历史使命。放心吧，祖国，放心吧，人民，时间流逝，斗转星移，永远抹不去的就是战士对党和人民的一颗赤胆忠心!青山和大地会证明我们的忠诚，蓝天和白云会昭示我们的誓言，“奉献”，我们认了，“牺牲”，我们说值!那是因为，共和国军人的心中只有一个期盼，那就是：为了共和国明天的辉煌!

“诚信”这个词在古代是与忠孝仁义同等重要，位置很高。诚信为本，诚信是立国之本，也是经商，做人之本。现在是一个包装盛行的时代，但也并不意味着我们可以丢掉诚信。

我们家有过这样一个故事。

从前，我爷爷开了家酒店。虽然酒店开在很深很深的巷子里，但爷爷家酿的谷酒好，浓浓的酒香飘出巷子好远好远，许多路过附近的人，都不知不觉地被吸引来了。由于谷酒的物美价廉，一传十，十传百，人人夸好，生意兴隆，让许多商家羡慕得眼都红了。

有一天，我爷爷出去了，他让小伙计看店。小伙计偷偷在谷酒里掺了水，多卖了五块钱。爷爷回家后，小伙计得意地把“秘诀”告诉了爷爷，以为老板会高兴。谁知，爷爷一听，急得蹦了起来，气得脖子都红了，说：“你把我们最珍贵的东西，出卖了啊！”小伙计不明白。爷爷几乎是哭着说：“你把‘诚信’出卖了啊！”果然，从此酒家的生意一天不如一天，再也不如以前红火，到酒家买酒的人越来越少。

后来，有位大伯去买酒喝，多给了小伙计酒钱，小伙计由于受到爷爷的教育，大伯。大伯很感谢，认识到诚信的可贵，把多余的钱退给了逢人就说这个酒家讲诚信，后来酒家的生意又越来越红火了。

诚信两个字不能丢！因为一个店铺也好，一个酒家也好，人才、资金，这些东西都可以从外面引进，唯独诚信不能引进，诚信只能靠自己。诚信就是支撑爷爷酒家发展的根本。

我将来也会是一个“小伙计”，我一定要记住“诚信”给人们带来的温情。要记住爷爷的伤心，绝不能做出让爷爷跺脚捶胸的事情，做出让江爷爷伤心的事情！做出让父老乡亲伤心的事情。

记得我在一次考试中，有一道题目不会做。正想偷偷地看一眼书，又想这样考出来的成绩不是我真实的成绩，就扛消了这个念头。后来试卷发下来，虽然分数不是

第一冬，粤这是我真实的成绩。回家告诉妈妈以后，妈妈表扬了我，说我做得对，我心里面也很高兴，促使我在平时的学习更加努力。

我们中国人常说：“三岁看老”。如果，小时候就弄虚作假，那么长大以后，做生意就会搞伪劣商品，做官就会贪污受贿，这样，将会受到法律的严惩。

今日，我是怀着很高兴的心情站在这里，站在这片古老而又年轻的大地上，自古以来，湖南就有着鱼米之乡的美誉，祖祖辈辈的湖南人民为建设自己的家园洒下了无数的汗水，经历了无数的艰辛。正是因为有了他们的不懈努力，才有了我们今日的一切；也正是因为他们以诚信魅力吸引了许多前来投资的商人和志在湖南发展的大批人才，才使我们这座古老的城市前程美好，诚信随着文明创建的深人，迅速拓展到社会各个领域。

谈到这里，我想起了一百多年前，生活在哥尼斯堡一位叫康德的老人说过这样一句话：“在我们人类的历史上，只有两样东西能让我们的心灵感到深深震撼：一个是我们头顶上灿烂的星空；一个就是我们内心崇高的道德法则。

我要做一个讲“诚信”的人，也愿“诚信”伴随各位的一生。

亲爱的同学们：

高尔基曾说：我们世界上最美好的东西，都是由劳动、由人的聪明双手创造出来的。其实我们生来就是一群劳动者，是劳动让我们创造出了这个七彩世界。是劳动，让田野瓜果处处飘香，是劳动，让红领巾喜悦地飘进知识的海洋。

许多同学认为劳动就是指体力劳动。那错了。它包含体力劳动和脑力劳动，它赠予人类许多骄傲，许多辉煌，也给中国历史留下不少闪光的华章铭文，如司马迁多年努力编成了《史记》，李时珍寻寻觅觅终得《本草纲目》……再如神州七号、八号的成功发射是经过许多科学家几年的努力才换来的。可见劳动价值之大。

无穷的知识都是劳动的结晶，任何成就都是刻苦劳动的结果。我们应付诸行动，相信只要肯刻苦劳动，那所得到的将是更宝贵的财富。对于我们小学生而言，现在正是学习阶段，学习也是一种劳动，在这段过程中，我们可能会遇到许多诱惑，许多困难。请不要畏惧，不要退缩，把目光放长远，那样，在求学路上，你就不会那么轻易地被困难所打败。要时刻铭记：一分耕耘，一分收获。我们所获得的知识都是老师诲人不倦的教育和自己刻苦学习的成果。

同学们，热爱劳动更是中华民族的传统美德，我们理应将它传承下去。在我们的校园里，每天都涌动着一群值日的同学，每天都有人在默默地打扫卫生，每天都有人随手捡起地上的垃圾……是他们共同创造了整洁的校园环境，让我们得以在清新的校园里快乐地学习。

同学们，五一劳动节刚刚过去，让我们从身边做起，从现在做起，随手捡起地上的垃圾，轻轻放入筒内。认真仔细地完成每一项作业，做个真正的好学生。我们是劳动者，更是未来世界的主人，那就让我们用心感受世界，用行动美化世界吧!

老师们，同学们，大家好，我们是来自初一九班的张影和李雨亭，今天我演讲的题目是“冬季长跑好处多”。

俗话说“冬训吃一年”，这是体育业内人非常重视的训练阶段。在民间利用寒冷的冬天进行长跑活动更是人们喜闻乐见的体育项目。为了让同学们更多的掌握长跑的知识，更好的参加长跑运动，我们在此向同学们介绍冬季长跑的有关知识。

通过长跑可以调节神经中枢的兴奋与抑制合理的交替转换，避免神经思维中枢紧张过度，消除大脑的疲劳，提高学习效益，提高记忆力；在低温下长跑可以刺激、激活肌体的保护性反应，调节大脑体温中枢的功能；长跑还可以促进血液循环，加速脑部的血量，供给大脑更多的氧和营养物质，使大脑清醒，思维能力敏捷，神经系统功能的改善，可以提高和完善对各器官、系统的控制和调节能力。

长跑运动可以增强心脏肌肉收缩的力量，提高血液中红血球携带氧的能力，可以使血管粗壮有弹性，可以激活淋巴细胞提高人体的免疫功能。在长跑运动时由于需求氧的量成倍增多，呼吸次数及深度也随之增加，经常进行长跑就能有效的提高呼吸肌力量，加大肺泡的通气量，从而提高了肺活量。

人体的运动系统是由骨骼、关节、肌肉组成，经常参加长跑运动，提高关节的灵活性；有效的提高肌肉的力量和耐力。

冬季长跑可以重新塑造完美体形、体态长跑属于有氧代谢运动，在运动中需要大量的氧和营养物质来供给人体运动的需要，在运动中多余的脂肪被消耗掉就能使得原本臃肿肥胖的体形得到改善，达到重新塑造体形的效果。

在冬季长跑中由于受到季节温度和环境的影响会遇到很多的困难，如天气寒冷，空气干燥都是对人在跑步时形成的自然困难因素，在这样的环境中锻炼一方面在锻炼体质，另一方面也是对人的意志品质的锻炼。

冬季长跑是一项锻炼身体的好运动，我们只有采用科学的方法进行锻炼，才能得到良好的锻炼效果。希望广大同学积极行动起来，投身到冬季长跑活动中来。

“感恩”，是一种生活态度，是一个内心独白，是一片肺腑之言，是一份铭心之谢。每个人都应该学会“感恩”。教师，多么神圣的字眼。这个名字赋予我们的实在太多太多……每个人的成长和成才，都离不开老师的培养;社会的每一点进步和更新，无不饱含着老师的辛劳和奉献。解决疑难，教师是书;传递文明，教师是桥;科教兴国，教师是帆。从入学的第一天开始，我们的每一点进步，每一份成功 ，无不浸透了老师们的心血与汗水，无不来源于老师们的栽培与辛苦。

万里春风催桃李，一腔心血育新人。对老师的辛勤劳动，人们总是用动人的诗句 来表达自己崇高的敬意和由衷的赞美。在我们的心目中，老师是美丽、淳朴、善良的爱心使者，她把自己的爱无私地奉献给我们每个人;老师像慈爱的母亲，用温暖的臂膀拥抱着我们;老师像辛勤的园丁，用甘甜的雨露滋润着我们;老师像一块块铺路石，用自己的青春年华为我们铺垫着一条成长的道路。

Faculty, family, friends, and fellow graduates, good evening.

I am honored to address you tonight. On behalf of the graduating masters and doctoral students of Washington Universitys School of Engineering and Applied Science, I would like to thank all the parents, spouses, families, and friends who encouraged and supported us as we worked towards our graduate degrees. I would especially like to thank my own family, eight members of which are in the audience today. I would also like to thank all of the department secretaries and other engineering school staff members who always seemed to be there when confused graduate students needed help. And finally I would like to thank the Washington University faculty members who served as our instructors, mentors, and friends.

As I think back on the seven-and-a-half years I spent at Washington University, my mind is filled with memories, happy, sad, frustrating, and even humorous.

Tonight I would like to share with you some of the memories that I take with me as I leave Washington University.

I take with me the memory of my office on the fourth floor of Lopata Hall - the room at the end of the hallway that was too hot in summer, too cold in winter, and always too far away from the womens restroom. The window was my offices best feature. Were it not for the physics building across the way, it would have afforded me a clear view of the arch. But instead I got a view of the roof of the physics building. I also had a view of one corner of the roof of Urbauer Hall, which seemed to be a favorite perch for various species of birds who alternately won perching rights for several weeks at a time. And I had a nice view of the physics courtyard, noteworthy as a good place for watching people run their dogs. Its amazing how fascinating these views became the longer I worked on my dissertation. But my favorite view was of a nearby oak tree. From my fourth-floor vantage point I had a rather intimate view of the tree and the various birds and squirrels that inhabit it. Occasionally a bird would land on my window sill, which usually had the effect of startling both of us.

I take with me the memory of two young professors who passed away while I was a graduate student. Anne Johnstone, the only female professor from whom I took a course in the engineering school, and Bob Durr, a political science professor and a member of my dissertation committee, both lost brave battles with cancer. I remember them fondly.

I take with me the memory of failing the first exam in one of the first engineering courses I took as an undergraduate. I remember thinking the course was just too hard for me and that I would never be able to pass it. So I went to talk to the professor, ready to drop the class. And he told me not to give up, he told me I could succeed in his class. For reasons that seemed completely ludicrous at the time, he said he had faith in me. And after that my grades in the class slowly improved, and I ended the semester with an A on the final exam. I remember how motivational it was to know that someone believed in me.

I take with me memories of the midwestern friendliness that so surprised me when I arrived in St. Louis 8 years ago. Since moving to New Jersey, I am sad to say, nobody has asked me where I went to high school.

I take with me the memory of the short-lived computer science graduate student social committee lunches. The idea was that groups of CS grad students were supposed to take turns cooking a monthly lunch. But after one grad student prepared a pot of chicken that poisoned almost the entire CS grad student population and one unlucky faculty member in one fell swoop, there wasnt much enthusiasm for having more lunches.

I take with me the memory of a more successful graduate student effort, the establishment of the Association of Graduate Engineering Students, known as AGES. Started by a handful of engineering graduate students because we needed a way to elect representatives to a campus-wide graduate student government, AGES soon grew into an organization that now sponsors a wide variety of activities and has been instrumental in addressing a number of engineering graduate student concerns.

I take with me the memory of an Engineering and Policy department that once had flourishing programs for full-time undergraduate, masters, and doctoral students.

I take with me memories of the 1992 U.S. Presidential debate. Eager to get involved in all the excitement I volunteered to help wherever needed. I remember spending several days in the makeshift debate HQ giving out-of-town reporters directions to the athletic complex. I remember being thrilled to get assigned the job of collecting film from the photographers in the debate hall during the debate. And I remember the disappointment of drawing the shortest straw among the student volunteers and being the one who had to take the film out of the debate hall and down to the dark room five minutes into the debate - with no chance to re-enter the debate hall after I left.

I take with me memories of university holidays which never seemed to apply to graduate students. I remember spending many a fall break and Presidents Day holiday with my fellow grad students in all day meetings brought to us by the computer science department.

I take with me memories of exams that seemed designed more to test endurance and perseverance than mastery of the subject matter. I managed to escape taking any classes that featured infamous 24-hour-take-home exams, but remember the suffering of my less fortunate colleagues. And what doctoral student could forget the pain and suffering one must endure to survive the qualifying exams?

I take with me the memory of the seven-minute rule, which always seemed to be an acceptable excuse for being ten minutes late for anything on campus, but which doesnt seem to apply anywhere else I go.

I take with me the memory of Friday afternoon ACM happy hours, known not for kegs of beer, but rather bowls of rainbow sherbet punch. Over the several years that I attended these happy hours they enjoyed varying degrees of popularity, often proportional to the quality and quantity of the accompanying refreshments - but there was always the rainbow sherbert punch.

I take with me memories of purple parking permits, the West Campus shuttle, checking my pendaflex, over-due library books, trying to print from cec, lunches on Delmar, friends who slept in their offices, miniature golf in Lopata Hall, The Greenway Talk, division III basketball, and trying to convince Dean Russel that yet another engineering school rule should be changed.

Finally, I would like to conclude, not with a memory, but with some advice. What would a graduation speech be without a little advice, right? Anyway, this advice comes in the form of a verse delivered to the 1977 graduating class of Lake Forest College by Theodore Seuss Geisel, better known to the world as Dr. Seuss - Heres how it goes:

My uncle ordered popovers

from the restaurants bill of fare.

And when they were served,

he regarded them

with a penetrating stare . . .

Then he spoke great Words of Wisdom

as he sat there on that chair:

"To eat these things,"

said my uncle,

"you must excercise great care.

You may swallow down whats solid . . .

BUT . . .

you must spit out the air!"

And . . .

as you partake of the worlds bill of fare,

thats darned good advice to follow.

Do a lot of spitting out the hot air.

And be careful what you swallow.

大家好!

今天，我能站在这里参加学生会干部的竞选，很高兴也很激动!首先我介绍一下自己吧，我是初二(1)班的孙伟朝，我要竞选的职位是学生会副主席。在此之前身为班干部的我，本着认认真真、兢兢业业的负责精神，一直以来都是尽己所能地把班会工作做到最好，并得到了老师和同学们的认同。

这里高手如云，我要取胜是一件不容易的事情。但是，我抱着“思想有多远，人就可以走多远!”“心有多大，舞台就有多宽!”的信念来参加竞选，况且，我也有足够的实力与大家公平竞争，我坚信，我会脱颖而出的。

君子藏器于身，待时而动。成功者，并不是那些嘴上说得天花乱坠的人，也不是那些把一切都设想得极其美妙的人，而是那些脚踏实地去干的人。以前，我只会按老师要求办事，现在，我能独立策划、组织各种活动，经历了一个由不会到会，从不好到好的过程。在虎外就读的两年多以来，我积极地参加各项活动，不断从中吸收经验来提高自己的综合能力。作为虎外的第一届公办班的学生和一名光荣的共青团员，我每天都努力拼搏，在精英荟萃的环境中勇于竞争、敢于竞争、善于竞争，不断奋斗、不断创新更是我一往无前的信念。

当然了，“人非圣贤，孰能无过”。我在工作中也出现过一些错误，但我敢于面对。以人为镜可以知得失。通过老师、同学的批评、帮助及自己的努力来改正，决不允许自己在同样的地方跌倒两次。正是由于在胜利面前不骄傲，在失败面前不低头，我才会在奋斗中迅速的成长和提高。

假如我竞选成功，我的第一个打算就是让每一个同学充分享有自己的民主权，大家可以向学生会提出自己的意见，我会谦虚接受所有良言和建议，使学生会的工作做到最好。一个好汉三个帮，我更需要同学们的信任与支持。在同学、老师们的协助下，我相信我可以把学生会的工作做好、做出色!

梦，需要自己去追，路，需要自己去走，选择了远方就必须风雨兼程。我相信自己的实力，也相信自己的能力，更加相信自己能把学生会副主席一职做好，我认为，我能行!

在十月里，我们刚刚送走一个神圣而伟大的节日——祖国母亲xx周岁的生日，今天，又迎来了一个是属于我们自己的节日，大家知道是什么节日吗?10月13日------一个和祖国母亲生日一样特别的日子：中国少年先锋队建队日。同学们,有了这两个日子,秋高气爽的十月变得火热,灿烂金黄的十月变得火红,于是十月,我们便多了一份期望在心中,多了一份祝福可传送。

中国少年先锋队是在中国共产党领导下建立的儿童组织。1949年新中国成立后，在10月13日又建立了中国少年儿童队，1953年6月改名为中国少年先锋队。光阴似箭，初入小学，老师为我们佩带鲜艳红领巾的那一幕还历历在目，同学们“好好学习，天天向上!”的誓言还回荡耳际。 。今天，鲜艳的领巾，依然映红我们稚嫩的脸庞;星星火炬，仍指引着我们前进的方向。红领巾，那是英雄先烈们鲜血的凝聚，她永远是我们胸前最亮丽的色彩。“准备着”不仅仅是口号，更是行动。亲爱的队员们，愿你们胸前的红领巾更红更艳，愿你们的雄心壮志更高更远。认认真真学习、规规矩矩写字、堂堂正正做人。

最后我想说的是：让我们一起抓住希望的机遇，撑起命运之舟，托起明天之阳，为少先队的未来而努力!让明天为我们骄傲!让希小因我们而自豪。

每一个人都有梦想，每一个民族也有自己的梦想，每一个中华儿女的梦想就是一个“中国梦”。“一个人可以一无所有，但是不能没有梦想。”这句话，我一直记得。是的，正是因为有梦想，我们才经历坎坷依然前行，正是因为有梦想，我们才历经沧桑信心不改。

当鸦片战争击破“天朝上国”迷梦，当西方文明剧烈冲击“天不变，道亦不变”的心理，当中华民族面临“千年未有之变局”、面对“千年未有之强敌”，中华儿女就有一个梦想，一个民族复兴的梦想。

170多年来，无数中华儿女就执着于这个梦，为民族复兴上下求索。而今，在实现这个梦想的新的历史征程上，习**总书记深情阐述“中国梦”， 他引用了三句诗“雄关漫道真如铁”、“人间正道是沧桑”、“长风破浪会有时”，将中华民族的昨天、今天和明天，熔铸于百余年中国沧桑巨变的历史图景，展现于几代人为民族复兴奋斗的艰辛历程，令人感慨、催人奋进。

姚明在退役发布会上感言：“感谢这个伟大进步的时代，使我有机会去实现自己的梦想和价值。”

今天，我们每个人未必像姚明那样尽情绽放了梦想，但我们都有自己的梦，也都或多或少地实现着自己的梦。

尽管我们的梦想实现未必尽如人意，有的人还在埋怨，收入还不够高，房子还不够大，工作还不够好，看病还不够方便，但与自己的过去相比，梦想的旅程都早已离开原点，梦想的花朵已然开始绽放。

也许，执着于自己的梦想久了，我们可能忘了梦想生长的土壤。也许，有的人认为，自己梦想的实现，得益于自己的奋斗，这个时代、我们国家并没有直接为自己做过什么。

然而，百余年前的中国人不敢有梦，百余年后的中国人都有自己的梦，其间的差别就在于“中国梦”。

当“中国梦”没有绽放，个人的梦又如何开花?从根本上说，我们每个人梦想生长的土壤，都深深植根于“中国梦”，我们每个人梦想的成长，都有“中国梦”的成长相伴。有了“中国梦”的茁壮，我们才有了做自己的梦的自由。

这170多年来，正是无数先贤**把自己的梦融入“中国梦”，正是一代代人执着坚韧地接续“中国梦”，“中国梦”才有今日之荣光。

这30多年来，我们能够改变自己的生活甚至命运，能够让自己的梦想次第开放，亿万农民工能够在神州大地上自由流动，市场的生机活力在最贫穷的地方也能够崭露头角。我们也不能忘记，这一切根本得益于“中国梦”的追逐，得益于党带领人民在追逐“中国梦”的进程中，创造了发展传奇。

“中国梦”与个人梦唇齿相依。我们追逐自己的梦，本身构成了“中国梦”的一块块基石。“中国梦”的建构，又为我们放飞自己的梦想提供了平台和土壤。

历史的接力棒已经交到我们手中，我们要大声宣言：勿忘昨天的苦难与辉煌，无愧今天的责任与使命，不负明天的梦想与追求。
