We cant see any human right of them， so terrible.

As someone said， with more people realizing the inhumanity of slavery in the 19th century， slavery became one of the most important issues and it became more violent year by year in American society. However， slavery was not abolished irrevocably until ratification of the 13th Amendment to the Constitution in 1865， following the Civil War. After the passage of Fugitive Slave Act of 1850， Harriet Beecher Stowe wrote this novel Uncle Toms Cabin which publicized the evil of slavery to a wide audience.

The Lunar New Year  a great occasion to the Chinese people. It lasts about the first four days of the year， during which people do not work except for the workers on duty. Students do not go to school， and shops are closed.

Several days before the new year， people begin to prepare. Farmers kill pigs， sheep， cocks and hens. City dwellers buy meat fh and vegetables. Houses are cleaned; coupletsare posted on the doors. Colourful lanterns are hung at the gate.

On the eve of the new year， each family has its members gatherd together and eats a family reunion dinner. After the meal they watch TV until the clock strickes twelve. Then every family sets off long strings of small firecrackers and other fire works to welcome the new year. On the first day of the new year， almost everyone  dressed in h or her best. When people meet on the way， they say to each other "Happy New Year". Friends and relatives pay new year calls and gives presents to each other. Children indulge themselves in games.

我想给父母买点拿得出手的礼物，但在我所居住的城市买不到。市中心由青春靓丽者统治着，很难买到老人的用品。设计师们从来不为自己年迈的父母设计时装。那种背街背巷委琐自卑的老人用品店出售的次品，你好意思买给父母做礼物吗？现在在伦敦买到了：一个绣花的专供老妇人用的小羊皮钱包，因为老人出门不会带许多大钞票；一个药盒，里面可以陈列应急的药丸，就像首饰盒一样漂亮。

我曾经坐在泰晤士河畔的一个小咖啡馆喝过一杯，跑堂的是位白发苍苍的爷爷，腰上拴着一个磨旧了的牛皮夹。为年轻人端上一杯咖啡，并非耻辱，老爷爷跑堂60 年，收杯摆碟的做工、风度已经是大师级的了。我盯着他腰上那个包浆深厚的皮夹子看，估计他是为了做好这工作专门定制了一个与咖啡馆相称的牛皮夹子，也说不定有的咖啡客来此喝上一杯，就是为了瞟一眼这夹子。哦，裤腰带上的古玩店！坐在泰晤士河畔，有一位热爱跑堂的大师为你端来咖啡，那不仅仅是享受，更是沉思：他一生有那么多跳槽的机会，有更好的工作可以赚更多的钱，为什么顽固保守得像泰晤士河那样永不改道呢？

看得出来，他德高望重，来这里喝咖啡的许多老人是他一生的常客，他们不必吩咐，他就知道他们要什么。或许他的人生理想远没有女王陛下那样伟大深远，也就是为这几个老朋友端端咖啡，让他们惬意一辈子；而在他们眼中，这位老亨利的恩泽未必小于女王陛下。

A Trip to Beijing

My American friend Tom and I went to Beijing by plane last summer.

On the first day，we visited the Palace Museum and Tiananmen Square. The next day，we climbed the Great Wall. We took lots of photos. Although we felt tired，it was a fantastic experience. The third day we relaxed. Then we had the Beijing roast duck for lunch. I think it is the most delicious food in the world. Tom is interested in Chinese culture，so we drank tea and saw Beijing Opera in Lao She Teahouse in the evening. Finally，we did some shopping and flew back to Guilin.

The trip to Beijing was short，but it was wonderful. Tom said that he would never forget it.

today is december 1st. oh, it’s my birthday! i’m so happy. so i get up very early. i wear my nice coat. mom says, “you’re so cute.” i say, “thank you.” in the evening, grandpa gives me a book. dad gives me a big cake. we eat cake and drink milk. my pet dog, winnie is eating cake, too. my family says, “happy birthday to you!” today i’m so happy.

Today is June 20th is Fathers Day, Dad is a great name, he carries the

responsibility of the family, and I have grown up on Dads shoulders for as long

as I can remember.

I remember that when I was a child, I had a high fever, and my father

hurriedly carried me to the hospital. The doctor said, "Its fine, just get an

injection..." I fell asleep and heard this vaguely.

medicine before going to bed." I took a sip, it was bitter, and I said I dont

Every student has his goal of study.Some have a great one but some small.To some degree,a goal determines your success in the future.People who have a great goal can probably acquire a big success in his future,while the people who have a small goal may gain a small one.Meanwhile,the time we set our goals is another important factor.The earlier we have our goals,the more easily we can reach them.Therefore,its of great importance to set a great goal when we are very young.Hower,having a goal doesnt mean we can succeed in no time.We still have a long way to go.The next step we should take is to put our goals into action.Maybe we meet with many difficulties,we mustnt stop or give up.We should keep on going,struggling against all kinds of trouble or problems until our goals are hit!
