我们在酒泉基地搞“两弹”结合的时候，刚开始连帐篷都没有，住的是“地窝子”，就是在地上挖一个大约一米深的大坑，在坑上面搭个支架，在支架顶上盖些草，在坑中打一个大通铺，几十个人睡在一起。即使是后来在研究院时期，有一段时间也没有宿舍。我是每天将铺盖带到办公室，白天工作时，将铺盖卷放在一边;晚上往办公桌上一铺，就睡在桌子上。我们始终保持高昂的革命乐观主义精神，以苦为乐、以苦为荣，再苦照样出成果。
