Dragon Boat Festival， often known as Tuen Ng Festival or Duan Wu Festival， is a traditional Chinese festival held on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese calendar. Take the grand red city wall for example. It has an 8.6 meters wide base reducing to 6.66 meters wide at the top. The angular shape of the wall totally frustrates attempts to climb it. The bricks were made from white lime and glutinous rice while the cement is made from glutinous rice and egg whites. These incredible materials make the wall extraordinarily strong.

Since yellow is the symbol of the royal family, it is the dominant color in the Forbidden City. Roofs are built with yellow glazed tiles; decorations in the palace are painted yellow; even the bricks on the ground are made yellow by a special process. However, there is one exception. Wenyuange, the royal library, has a black roof. The reason is that it was believed black represented water then and could extinguish fire.

The scenery of the Zhanqiao Pier, Luxun Park, Little Qingdao Isle, Xiaoyu Hill, Badaguan, the seashore and the May Fourth Square are all beside the sea and constitute the famous scenic sights of Qingdao. Red roves and green trees, sapphire sea and blue sky in the scenic resort will make you feel happy and fresh.

Zhanqiao Pier: Zhanqiao Pier, built in 1891, is the symbol of Qingdao. After several restorations, from being a simple military harbor, it is now open to tourists. The pier is 440 meters long. There is an octagonal pagoda of distinctive Chinese style, “Huilan Pagoda” at the end of the pier. From the top, tourists can fully view the magnificent sea. Along the shore is the beautiful Pier Park, which is a pleasant and quiet place for tourists to rest or enjoy the scenery of Little Qingdao Isle and its white tower.

Dated back to last month, one official representative at the meeting of Peoples Representatives put forward the issue of educational partiality, maintaining that the possibility of certain metropolises students admitted to Tsinghua University and Peking University is approximately 40 times more than that in Henan province. Recently, when it comes to the enrollment of middle school students, another heated news has been propagated that certain schools enjoying better location, faculty and favorable policies are illegally stretching their legs towards elite students over the whole province, exerting definitely pernicious influences on the regulation of tests and examinations.

As a student, Im sincerely concerned with this. From my own perspective, the leading action we should be encouraged to take is to distribute resources more sensibly. Its imperative to give more rights for admission to prestigious universities to students in need, which may propitiously precipitate the process of social justice. Also, governmental regulation and punishments are in desperate demand. Banning on such misconducts as searching for students over the boundary in certain schools serves as a solution.

What is more, personally, its advisable for the school administrators to secure a clear mind that faculty and regulations rather than students are more significant linchpins in maintaining competence and attractiveness.

There is still a long way to go for sake of overcoming the perplexity of educational injustice. Notwithstanding, we are bound to accomplish it with fortitude.

Is it Good for College Students to fall in love in School?

College students have more freedom than before and they also grow more and

more mature in physical and mental. So it is natural that they would like to

fall in love with someone. As a result, campus love becomes popular in

university. For this phenomenon, people opinions vary. In my opinion, I dont

agree with that phenomenon.

跟以前相比，大学生拥有更多的自由，而且在身心上他们也在慢慢地变得越来越成熟。所以他们想谈恋爱是很自然的。结果校园恋爱在大学中就变得很普遍。对于这一现象，人们众说纷纭。在我看来，我是持反对意见的。

首先，恋爱需要花费很多钱。当两个人是那种关系的时候，他们就会经常一起出去。出去的时候就要花比较多的钱。约会中，男孩子会尽自己最大的努力去买东西给女孩让她开心。而女孩也会开始化妆或者买一些漂亮的衣服来让自己看起来更美丽。这些行为都是需要钱的。然而，大学生仍然还是学生。他们没有收入。他们的钱是父母给的。恋爱会增加家庭和自己的负担。

我们一家乘车来到厦门，安顿好后，我们就开始前往第一个目标——胡里山炮台。

厦门胡里山炮台景区系国家级文物保护单位、全国AAAA级旅游景区，始建于1894年，是中国洋务运动的产物，历史上被称为“八闽门户、天南锁钥”。炮台用花岗石条建造，并以乌樟树汁和石炭、糯米拌泥沙夯筑而成，坚固异常。用优质花岗岩筑成的城门、城墙、城楼、护城壕、清兵营房和炮台等保留完整，是研究我国海防军事史、洋务运动史和兵工构筑技术的珍贵史迹。

我们先走了一百多阶的台阶，就来到了炮台的大门，进去后首先映入眼帘的是十几门红夷大炮，上面虽锈迹斑斑，但还能看出当年的威力。除了红夷大炮外，还有回旋炮、榴弹炮等等。其中最有名的是1893年购自德国克虏伯兵工厂的一门28生（280mm）克虏伯大炮，至今保存完好，有效射程可达16000米（最远射程19760米），花了白银10万两才购得（含海运及保险费）。该炮曾在1937年的抗日保卫战中击沉日军“箬竹”型13号舰，首开中国战区击沉日舰的辉煌战绩。

到了16点，发炮表演开始了，由“一品大人”带队的军团开始了表演。他们首先列队舞枪，登上高台后先擦洗炮台，然后瞄准目标，再装上弹药，最后发炮。“轰”！我们本以为只是装样子的炮弹还真被打了出去，大家都不约而同地捂住了耳朵。

离开胡里山炮台后，逛了厦门大学，吃了当地海鲜，真是快乐。

othing Succeeds Without a Strong Will

“Where there is a will, there is way” is an old proverb which almost everyone knows, but not all understand it so well. Actually, it means that if you are really resolved to do something, no matter how difficult it might be, never give up.

In fact, strong will is a kind of good quality which successful people should own. A great man is always one who has a firm resolution and an inflexible spirit. One will never succeed all his life without a firm will to get the final victory. As a rule, great tasks are accomplished by men of strong will. For example, Dr. Sun Yatsen, the founder of the Republic of China, set the Chinese people free from the Manchurian rule through a long period of hard struggle. Many of his attempts failed and many of his followers were killed, but he had an inflexible spirit and stuck to his cause. Finally, he made the revolution of 1911 a success. The same is true of men in all walks of life.

It is quite obvious that there is nothing difficult in the world, if you make up your mind to do it, you will certainly accomplish your end. That stands to reason. So as for students like us, we should have a good attitude towards failure. Facing with difficulties and failures, keep heads up and never give up. Besides, we should make full preparation, though strong will help us overcome the difficulties, it is not for person who has no preparation.
