Chusok ("fall evening") is a Korean "Harvest Moon" (Han-gawi) festival set

on the 15th day of the eighth lunar moon. Chusok (韩国中秋节)， also known as the

Korean Thanksgiving or Mid-Autumn Festival， is one of the most celebrated Korean

holidays. It occurs during the harvest season. Thus， Korean families take this

time to thank their ancestors for providing them with rice and fruits.

The celebration starts on the night before Chusok and ends on the day after

the holiday. Thus， many Korean families take three days off from work to get

together with family and friends.

The celebration starts with a family get-together at which rice cakes

called "Songphyun" (蒸糕) are served. These special rice cakes are made of rice，

beans， sesame seeds， and chestnuts. Then the family pays respect to ancestors by

visiting their tombs and offering them rice and fruits. The Koreans visit the

graves of their ancestors to bow and clean the area for the coming winter. In

the evening， children wear their favorite hanbok (traditional Korean clothing)

and dance under the bright moon in a large circle. They play games and sing

songs. Like the American Thanksgiving， Chusok is the time to celebrate the

family and give thanks for their blessings.

Community activities include masked dance， Kanggangsuwollae， an ancient

circle dance， tug-of-wars and the tortoise game， kobuk-nori (乌龟游戏)， in which two

men dress as a tortoise and tour the village dancing and performing for food and

drink. Most of all， Chusok is a time to give thanks for the autumn harvest and

reaffirm familial and community ties.

The so-called food safety, is the food does not contain any harmful substances to human body. If food spoilage or containing toxic substances, will bring harm to our body and even life-threatening. Food safety is about peoples life and health. Inferior food greatly endanger peoples health, light diarrhea diarrhea, or poisoning coma, moreover may cause death. Hello, everybody, my name is Xue Yinjie. I"m 12 years old. I study at Fenghuang Primary school. I"m in class 1 grade 6. I go to school at 7 o"clock every morning. We read English everyday. There are three lessons in the morning. We have lunch at 11 o"clock. After lunch, we have a rest. The lessons in the afternoon are much more interesting. There are Art lesson, computer studies, Music lesson and Science lesson. We leave school at four.

Everybody, let me show you around my school. My school is not big, but it"s very beautiful. There is a broad road in the center of the school. In the two sides of the road, there are many green trees and beautiful flowers. In the left side of the road, there are two teaching buildings and a meeting Hall. Teachers often get together every Monday afternoon. There are about 24 classrooms in our school, included two computer rooms and an Art room. We like computer studies very much. We can surf the Internet and play computer games, and sometimes we write emails to each other. In front of the teaching building, there is a river. We can see big ships on it, and it always makes noise. Around the rive, there are some flowers and trees. In spring, we can see many butterflies and other insects. We watch they dance in the flowers. They dance so beautifully. In summer, we can catch grasshoppers between the grass. We have great fun there. In the right side of the road ,there is a library and a big playground. There are many kinds of books in the library. After lunch, we often go to the library to find some interesting books. We often read books about animals and interesting stories. Welcome to our school!

Christmas is one of the most important celebrations of the year for the western countries. It falls on the twenty- fifth of December and has the same importance as Chinese New Year to people with English backgrounds. The celebration is for the birth of Jesus Christ, who is the son of God in Christianity. Now days Christmas is no longer only celebrated by the Christians, but by most people from all over the world.

On the twenty- fourth of December everyone gets excited for it’s the day before Christmas which is called Christmas Eve. The children are usually sent to bed early and are warned that “Santa Claus will only come and give you a present if you be good.” The younger kids actually believe that Santa will come down the chimney on the sleigh that’s pulled by his reindeers. Food like short bread and beer are prepared for Santa when he comes, however most times parents just eat them. Some children put socks and sacks up for the holding of the presents (that their parents put in).

Rise and shine on Christmas morning! The children are always the first ones to wake up, some even do at four. Present wrappers everywhere! They look into their presents with a big smile on their face and oh dear….I hope no one’s disappointed. I feel sorry for anyone that got pink underwear. Children play while dinner is prepared by the adults. The Christmas dinner are usually eaten together by relatives. The tradition of Christmas pudding and roosters are usually eaten with deserts afterwards. The rest of the day is usually games and fun before the good days all come to an end.

The roofs were standing under their snow caps,while the eaves were wearing their glittering ornaments.The trees raised white arms to the sky on every side,and where there was a wall,there were some fantastic forms of snow stretching exhilarated in the dim landscape,as if Nature had carved her fresh desighs by night as models for mans art.

Silently,I opened the door and stepped outside to face the cutting air.The moon had already lost some of its glow and the land was bathed in a dull mist.A lurid light in the east proclaimed the approach of day while the weatern landscape was bleak with some spooky stillness like a wizard kingdom.What you could only hear was the creepy sounds,seemingly out of the hell----the barking of dogs,the hammering of blacksmith,the lowing of cows and the crying of pigs under the butchers knife.

Gradually,the lurid light darkened and spread across the west.Every flower,every tree and

every weed were bathed in the sunshine.Suddenly,it turned out that all the sounds were not for any melancholy they suggested,but for their twilight bustle which was too solemn and mysterious for me.

我想，假如中国所有的人，每人用一双一次性筷子。那么，中国13亿人口，要浪费多少木材?我想，假如中国所有的人，每人用一只塑料袋。那么，中国13亿人口，要有多少白色污染?我想，假如中国所有的人，每人寄一张贺卡。那么，中国13亿人口，要耗费多大的资源?

植树节给了我很多的感悟，我希望每个人都可以为了一个共同的美好环境一起努力，创造一个美好的未来!

Everyone has their own habits, have a good habit, also have bad habits, we learn to complement each other.

But in our life, there are a lot of people have the bad habit of smoking, though they know the dangers of smoking to human body, but they are going to do, or really confusing.

In my side, though in many places with big slogan: no smoking, but there are still many people smoking unashamed. Although the cigarette case, all printed with the words, "smoking is harmful to health" but people turn a blind eye, to continue to their "hobby".

"Merchants if we know that smoking is harmful to health, why production cigarette?" I feel puzzled. Last weekend, I travelled in Hong Kong. Hong Kong is a very beautiful modern city, it’s to the south of Guangdong. There are many tall buildings and wonderful places to visit, such as: Victorian Park(维多利亚公园), Disneyland park(迪士尼乐园). What I like best is to visit the Ocean Park(海洋公园). The Ocean Park is the biggest recreation center(休闲中心) in the southeast of Asia(东南亚), each year many people go there to pay a visit. We saw many performances by the dolphins and the whales. The performances were very exciting and the animals were very lovely. We really had a good time in Hong Kong.

The first fall of snow is not only an event but it is a magical event. You go to bed in one kind of world and wake up to find yourself in another quite different, and if this is not enchantment, then where is it to be found?

The Chong Yang Festival is celebrated on the ninth day of the ninth lunar month, and it is as such known as the Double Ninth Festival.

Climbing mountains: On the Double Ninth Festival, people customarily climb mountains, appreciate chrysanthemum flowers, drink chrysanthemum wine, and eat double-ninth cakes. The Double Ninth Festival is also the Old Men Festival. Old people are especially meant to improve their health by taking part in the activities on the day of the festival.

Origins: The festival began as early as the Warring States Period (475 - 221 BC). According to the yin/yang dichotomy that forms a basis to the Chinese world view, yin represents the elements of darkness and yang represents life and brightness. The number nine is regarded as yang. The ninth day of the ninth month is a double yang day, hence the name Chong Yang Festival. (Chong means repeat in Chinese.) The ninth month also heralds the approach of winter. It is a time when the living need warm clothing, and filial Chinese sons and daughters extended this to make the festival a time for providing winter clothes for their ancestors. The Double Ninth Festival, therefore, also became an occasion to visit the graves of dead family members. Clothes made of paper would then be burnt as offerings.

Family get-togethers: The Double Ninth Festival is also a time for family get-togethers. It is an occasion to remember one‘s ancestors, the sacrifices they made and the hardships they underwent. Often, family outings are organised during which people search to renew their appreciation of nature and to reaffirm their love and concern for family members and close friends.

刚开学，我们班上就来了个新的英语老师——熊老师。

好不容易迎来了暑假，本以为可以好好放松放松，谁知道这日子还不如读书。在这暑假里，早早就完成了作业，之后便没有事情了，玩耍的兴趣一天不如一天。终于，外公让我走出了家门，体验一把劳动的乐趣。

这是一个星期天，我依旧睡到了太阳照屁股的时候，一如既往，又呆在了电视机面前。外公见我整天无事可做，便叫上我到了农田里。虽说生活在农村，却也没有经常干活，那种体力活更是没有碰过什么。因为我家以种树苗为主，没怎么种玉米等农作物，所以没什么事情可干。

我充满信心的来到了地里，第一项任务便是除草。放下锄头，蹲下身子，仔仔细细地除草。拔了十多分钟，总算结束了。本以为十分简单，却出我意料，食指和拇指被磨起了泡，痛极了。

接着，便是到了挖地的时候。在除草上失败了，想在洼地上赢个漂亮仗。于是，鼓足了手劲。上次挖地是两年前的事了，但我依然有信心把这一次做好。拿起锄头，挖下了第一锄，感觉还不错。凭着我以前的经验，一口气挖了十多米，终于，赶上外公了。外公见我赶上了他，便夸我有力气、有干劲。

在外公的鼓励下，我再一次鼓足了劲，做最后的冲刺。我和外公不相上下，一会儿我领先，一会儿他领先，胜负难分。好不容易到了终点，竟和外公打成了平局，我高兴极了!高兴之余，发现手上又多了几个亮晶晶的泡，火辣辣的，但我觉得这是值得的。

最后轮到播种的时候了。我当了一名播种员，负责将种子放进挖好的坑里。这不算难，不一会儿便完成了任务。于是，便扛起锄头回家了。

晚上，睡在床上回想当天的老大，我感动收获不少。看着手上的泡，虽说有点痛，但也算不上什么。

老大，让人类生存了下来，它富有挑战，让人学会坚持。想起那天的事，我还学会了坚强，也懂得了珍惜。因为劳动很辛苦，劳动成果自然也就来之不易。

Last Monday when I stepped into my classroom, my monitor told us that our class teacher, Mr Sun, had passed away in a traffic accident. It seemed so unbelievable because he used to give us lessons on Monday morning. I couldnt accept the fact until the headmaster came to tell us the truth.

Mr Sun was a middle-aged teacher. He was full of sense of humour. We all liked him very much because of his excellent teaching. His lessons were usually very lively and interesting.We all liked to attend his class. He was an experienced teacher.

Mr Sun will always live in our hearts!

When we are feeling sick and lying in bed, is parents will take care of us; When we test sent, it is parents encourage us; When we made a mistake, it is the parents education in the us to correct our mistakes...

Thank my parents when I was frustrated, encouraged me, comfort me, give me courage, let me set up confidence to face the difficulties bravely. Remember a math test, I only got eighty points. I returned home, sadly homework also do bad, eat not sweet. Mom saw my abnormal, kindly ask me why sat by my side. I YiWuYiShiBa exam told his mother the truth, I didnt expect that my mother did not criticize me, instead, comfort I said: "good kid, a failure is not equal to yourself is not good, do you want to analysis the reason, well know where mistakes, this is progress." Listen to the mother, I feel much more relaxed.

Have words to say well "who made the heart-inch grass, at a three chunhui". Therefore, in order to repay hard raising my parents, I must study hard now, when I grow up, find a good job, let parents abetted. Parents paid for me, I will thank you ten times, one hundred times, return them, let them give valuable.

当我们生病卧床不起时，是父母在无微不至地照顾着我们;当我们考试考差了，是父母的鼓励着我们;当我们犯了错误，是父母的教育着我们改正错误......

感谢父母在我受到挫折时，鼓励我、安慰我、给我勇气，让我树立自信勇敢地去面对困难。记得一次数学测验，我只考了八十多分。我垂头丧气地回到家，作业也做不好，饭吃不香。妈妈看见我的反常，坐在我的身边和蔼地问我原因。我一五一十把考试的实情告诉了妈妈，令我没想到的是妈妈不但没有批评我，反而安慰我说：“好孩子，一次失败不等于自己就不优秀了，你要好好地分析原因，知道错误到哪里，这就是进步。”听了妈妈的话，我的心情一下子轻松多了。

有一句话说得好“谁言寸草心，报得三春晖”。因此，为了报答辛苦养育我的父母，我现在一定要好好学习，长大后，找一个好的工作，让父母安享晚年。父母为我付出的，我将十倍、百倍的感谢、回报他们，让他们的付出有价值。
