I read the book then watched the movie, both of them ga一ve me great shock, I really admire Meggie,she had the courage to use her whole life to love Ralph, never ga一ve up. She believed that she would love Ralph only in her life. But I don’t like Meggie’s attitude to love, Ralph is a Father, and he mustn’t love Meggie, they really loved each other, but they are not destined to be together. Frank is my fa一vorite role. he was short but strong ,and he was one of the main labor in his family. I was so sad when I learned that Frank killed a man and he was sent to the prision. It is really a big shock to Meggie, for Frank was the only one who can listen to Meggie’s secrets. She thought she lost Frank forever. I cannot imagine how painful for Frank to spend dozens years in the prision. He once had good dream about his life, but he had to waste most of his life in prision. In my opinion it was Frank’s father that distoryed his life. His father didn’ t give him freedom, and Frank can’t had strong resistance spirits, and because he didn’t control himself and broke the law.The energitic Frank will never come to us, and he became a man who didn’t wanna talk. He began to be afraid of the world…it is really a pity.

As for Meggie, I think she was a good girl. She was beautiful and smart, but she it was wrong for her to love Ralph. Meggie was an excellent girl, she was able to find an outstanding boy to love her, but she put all her love on Ralph even she married Luke. She married Luke just because Luke looked like Ralph. Meggie wanna be a thorn bird, but I think it was too cruel to her. She was so kind that she shouldn’t stand that king of pain, and I think she was born to ha一ve a happy life. I pity for her.

Both the story of thorn birds and the legend are painful and beautiful, but not every one can be the thorn birds, because it is not our porpose to ha一ve a painful life. We are born to be happy. But the child dies of tuberculosis, having first elicited a promise from her father to free the loyal Tom. The father is killed , however, in a brawl before he can fulfill his pledge and his widow is forced to sell Tom, who becomes the property of the heartless Simon Legree. He soon learns how really harsh the life of plantation can be, but he remains true to his religious training, elated by his pious acceptance of God’s will. Harassed by the evil Legree ,Tom displays his Christian charity by refusing to flog another slave .Simon Legree may not own Tom’s soul ,but he can do as he chooses with the body, and he orders two of his slaves, Sambo and Quimba, to whip the unresisting Tom, whose only responses to the merciless beating is a plea to stop in order that Legree might save his own soul.

On his deathbed, Tom charitably forgives the harsh Legree. Ironically, he lives long enough to witness the arrival of his former master’s son, come to redeem the family pledge by buying him back and granting his freedom.

The theme of Uncle Tom’s Cabin, for its all apparent simplicity, is representative of much of 19th century American fiction of the good man opposed by evil personified under the circumstance of slavery.

What strikes me is Tom’s loyalty to his religious belief. All of us has our own belief , it plays a most important part in our life, it supports us whenever we are caught in rough conditions ,it helps us get out of the dark to see the sunrise, it teach us how to adapt ourselves to different circumstances.

I felt that I was deeply fascinated by it soon after I had read it.

I first read it in a summer. I did not finish it at a single sitting. However, the moment I finished it, near midnight in a sweltering August day, with my body poured with sweat, held my breath to turn the last page over, shut the book and heaved a sigh of relief, I just could not express how I felt. All were over: trouble was over; lives were over; hopes were over. I was shocked how such a small book could contain such a complicated story. Never were wars, diseases and starvation ever nakedly exposed to me like this. The turns in plots were surprising but natural.

It was a tragedy: Just as its name suggested, everything was gone with the wind, including families’ touch, friends’ support, sweethearts’ gaze and youth with vigour. The story reminds us of valuing all we were possessing. A life lasts for a short time and anything in it lasts shorter. We always lose something unconsciously and then feel regretful when we need them later.

Characters in the story were so vivid as if they had been going to jump out of the story, as if they had been existed in the real life at first.

“Land is the only thing in the world that amounts to anything, for ‘this the only thing in this world that lasts, and don’t you be forgetting it’ this the only thing worth working for, worth fighting for——worth dying for.” Said Gerald, an Irish man who loved his soil more than his own life, let us know that life can be born out of land.

“But Scarlett, did it ever occur to you that even the most deathless love could wear out? Mine wore out, against Ashley Wilkes and your insane obstinacy that makes you hold on like a bulldog to anything you think about.”

But at last he still could not escape from hurts. “My dear, I don’t give a damn.” Look, he did not care about it at all. He was a man who disguised himself so much.

“I mustn’t bawl; I mustn’t beg. I mustn’t do anything risk his contempt. He must respect me even——even if he doesn’t love me.”

“I’ll think of it all tomorrow, at Tara. I can stand it then. Tomorrow, I’ll think some way to get him back. After all, tomorrow is another day.”

Said Scalett O’hara, the most wonderful woman I’ve ever seen. She was hard and greedy and unscrupulous, a brave, frightened, bull-headed child. Though she only thought about how to attract man’s attention and did not do anything useful before the war, she did surprise me when I read about her doings after the war. At that time, her Tara was just reduced to ashes. Everyone sketched out their hands and asked her for food. She bravely faced the reality and rebuilt Tara with her own hands. What a tough woman, I thought. Though those she loved were all gone, she was still full of hope. When Rett didn’t love her anymore and wanted to leave her, she said “I mustn’t bawl… even if he doesn’t love me.” A woman’s dignity could be seen from what she have said and done. That’s why I appreciate her.

This novel gave me too much to think about and I can not fully express myself in English. It is true that reading an origin is more vivid than the translated ones. However, my English level limits me to understand the origin well without the translated. But I will work hard in order to understand better.

The novel is my treasure, forever, because I find myself in Scarlett and find the world I live in inside the story.

That’s really an excellent novel, with an ending from which you can see hope rising from despair.

When I first read The Little Prince, I can’t understand the mean of love and never to think why should the little prince leave alone since he love his rose so deeply. 这几天，我读了《傲慢与偏见》这本书，心中顿时百感交集，思绪万千，心情久久不能平静。《傲慢与偏见》主要讲的是英国19世纪处于社会中产阶层的农场主柏纳特先生几个女儿的婚恋故事。大女儿姬安温柔善良，美丽可人，与性格软弱的富家子弟宾利一见倾心，但在关键时刻却产生了波折。二女儿伊丽莎白聪慧清丽，有志气，有主见，与家产万贯的达西相识。达西性格内向，孤僻高傲，却对伊丽沙白独立倔强的个性产生了爱慕，可他的第一次求爱却遭到了拒绝，最后达西发现伊丽莎白身上具有不图富贵，追求真情的可贵品质。同时，宾利也得到朋友的支持与姬安再次相见，两对新人便结成了眷属。

通过读这本书，我了解到19世纪初期英国社会上层与中层不同阶级之间在联姻上的门第观念和世事人情，以及作者塑造的真正的爱情可以超越不同阶层的对立，消除傲慢，消除偏见，达到完美婚姻的这一理想境界。

它，是一部感人肺腑的长篇小说，在小仲马的笔下，主人公以分别写下了悲伤的结局。它，就是那部举世闻名的《茶花女》。

today, i was read the book which called “the adventures of tom sawyer.” this story is about a clever boy called tom sawyer.

this book describes the nineteenth century, the mississippi river in a small town peoples lives, it can be said at the time the united states are a microcosm of social life. small characters tom sawyer and his junior partner and seriously childish words and deeds can give us deep insight. they hate priests pack of lies, and do not like boring school of education and decently adults, and children a rival show. they smart and lively , integrity and courage, especially in some major events happened when, in a battle between justice and evil, in the moment of crisis comes, they will not hesitate to come forward.

i think tom sawyer is a brave boy. he always gives his friends courage in danger and he tries his best to help other people.

of course we know, tom is a very naughty boy, and his aunt polly is often angry with him. but i think he also is a good boy. he always can make other people happy.

people always grow, besides height, body has grown stronger, and people’s thoughts are long. your view on the world is different, sensible, and no longer childish. but people are getting better. dont like the adventures of the ruthless villains, and his quest do bad, people see people hate. but at last he still las toman, got a starved to death in the cave.

after reading the "adventures of tom sawyer," i really envy tom to have such an interesting experience. it seems this book with relish, and even sleepless nights.

in my heart, i respect tom. maybe he is a hero. and i think i should learn something from tom sawyer.

鲁滨孙让我明白了，大自然并不可怕，可怕的是人内心的懦弱与畏惧，只要我们内心足够强大，凭借着我们的冷静、勇敢、睿智、坚韧，我相信大自然会为我们提供便利。

After reading this wonderful story, I can feel love, brave, deep friendship and some other good spirits in the people.

The Scarecrow wanted some brains, but on the way to the Emerald City, he thought out of a way to cross the river. The Cowardly Lion wanted to be brave, but when they met the river, he carried other friends to jump across it. And the Tin Man wanted a heart, he said he couldn’t love, but he didn’t want to hurt any animal.

In fact, they all have the things they want: the Scarecrow is clever, the Cowardly Lion is brave and the Tin Man is kind-hearted.

This book tells us a story of how a little girl Dorothy goes back to her hometown when she is in another strange city. Dorothy is a little girl who lived with her aunt and uncle in Kansas. She wanted to go home to Kansas but she doesn’t know how to get there. So the Witch of North told her to go to the Emerald City to find the Wizard of Oz to help her. Then Dorothy met the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion, but they need help too. The Scarecrow wanted some brains, the Tin Man wanted a heard, and the Cowardly Lion wanted to be brave. So they all take the yellow brick road to the Emerald City. On the way to the Emerald City they met some difficulties, but they solved them successfully. After they met the Wizard of Oz, the wizard gave them another challenge—to kill the bad Witch of the West and they accept. During the way to the Witch of the West’s house, they were caught by the witch and Dorothy was requested to work for her. One day, when the witch tried to catch Dorothy’s red shoes, Dorothy threw some water on the witch by accident and the Witch of the West disappeared. Only water can kill her. So Dorothy went back to the Emerald City with her friends but they found the Wizard of Oz is not a real wizard, he is also a man came from Kansas, and he is just a conjurer. He wanted to go back to Kansas too. So he made a big balloon and prepared to go. But when the balloon is going to raise, Dorothy’s dog Toto jumped away to run after a cat, so Dorothy had to get Toto back and they were left in Oz. Then Dorothy and Toto went and find the Witch of the South and the witch told them they can just use the red shoes on Dorothy’s feet, they’re a pair of magic shoes, they could take anybody go back to their home as soon as she said‘East, west—home is the best!’After Dorothy said goodbye to her friends, she went back to her new home with her dog. It’s really a wonderful risk.

Yes, no matter where we are, home is always the best place for us to rest or study. There are our parents here; there are also our favorite things here. At home, we feel safe, we feel comfortable, and we can relax ourselves.

From this story, we can see Dorothy is a brave and kind-hearted girl. She killed the two bad witches in Oz; she helped the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, and the Cowardly Lion to go to the Emerald City to find the Wizard and get what they want. She solved problems when they met difficulties. It’s really not easy for such a little girl.

We also learn that teamwork is important for us. When we are in trouble, we can ask our friends for help, and also, when our friends need help, we should go and help them. Just remember, more people, more power. It’s always better has more people to do a thing. Teamwork is really necessary in our lives.

And we can see the Scarecrow is absolutely cleaver, he understands things, he can think, he learn quickly, and he suggested Dorothy to cut down a tree to cross the river. The tin man has a kind heart, he laughs, he cries, he loves, he feels sorry for people. The Cowardly Lion is really brave, he did a lot of brave things, he carried the friends to go across the river, and he wanted to find some food for his friends and so on. We should learn from them too. When we are in trouble, we should calm down, watch the things around carefully, and try to think out of a way to solve it, just like the Scarecrow. We also should be brave as we are in danger, we can’t be afraid, we should face the difficulty and try to go through it, just like the Cowardly Lion. And we should learn to love people, to feel sorry for people, to make more friends, to get on well with everyone around us, just like the Tin Man.

Yes, we should learn how to get on with other people, we should help each other, we should be brave, we should love other people. If we can do like this, we can be a better girl (boy), more and more people will make friends with us, and more and more people will like us!

This summer holiday, I read a book called Andersen Fairy Tale. The book has many interesting stories. I cant forget one of the story of this book, ugly little duck. It is very ugly, who has been bullied. It was alone, no animals would play with it. In the cold winter , it almost froze to death in the forest. However, it finally frying by its own efforts. It turned into a beautiful swan. It is not an ugly duck anymore. This story tells us: in the face of injustice, it is only through their own efforts, as have happiness and joy.

最近我读了《鲁宾逊漂流记》这本书。

《鲁宾逊漂流记》是英国小说家丹尼尔•笛福发表的第一部小说，主要讲了鲁宾逊厌倦了家里平淡无奇的生活，坐上了一条开往非洲的小船离家出走了。不幸的是，小船被海盗劫持了。但鲁宾逊凭着他的智慧逃了出来，并流落到巴西，经营起了种植园。

读到这里，我原以为他的生活就此平静了下来，但没想到更可怕的还在后面：当他乘坐一条船时，遇上了大风暴，船沉了，船上十一人只有他一人生还。鲁宾逊被海浪冲到了荒岛上后，他并没有绝望，而是靠自己的双手来建造房子，制作桌子、椅子和小匣子，驯养小羊、小狗，种植稻子、小麦……就这样，他靠自己的双手和辛勤劳动拥有了种植园、牧场、仆人……在荒无人烟的孤岛上生活了28年，最终，他凭借他的智慧离开了荒岛。

This is a novel about adolescent psychological problems. From the point of subject, like all young men, the hero is a liberal person, but he doesn"t handle their own problems, at the same time, he was also confused, he don"t know their future.

this semester i studied in novel " old man and sea " of hemingway , famous writer of u.s.a.. i admire the old fishermans will in the novel very much, he lets me understand that a person must have unremitting spirit, could succeed . what the novel is described is an old fisherman almost the sixty years old, when go to sea and fish alone once, have angled to a big fish, but can not draw. after tough fisherman and fish have socialized for a few days, just find this is a big malins fish which exceeds several times of ones own fishing boat, though know perfectly well that it is very difficult to win , does not give up yet. because big malin fish fishlike smell of wound attract odd herds of shark vie for the food again later, but the old man is still unwilling to give up like this, stress the tight encirclement finally , take the large fish back to fishing port , let other fishmen admire it endlessly.

“闻所闻而来，见所见而去”，这是适时的自嘲，是一种语言的艺术，同样也是一种生活的态度。

这句话出自《世说新语》简傲三，讲得是钟会请众名士拜访嵇康却被无视，当他准备离去时，嵇康问道：“何所闻而来？何所见而去？”钟会答：“闻所闻而来，见所见而去。”意思是：我听到我所听到的而来，我看到我所看到的而去。这实际就是句车轱辘话，但在钟会这里却有了不一样的效果。在良久的等待后，钟会面对嵇康率性的问话，以问为答，在自我解嘲的同时，展现了与嵇康相同的旷达的生活态度，留下了这段佳话。

这就是自嘲的妙处。

自嘲要用，要会用。首先得判定是否需要，钟会面对尊敬之人，自然不能也不会为等待生气。嵇康发问何尝不是钟会展示自己的机会？

其次看场合、气氛等。大家都是不羁之人，钟会适时适事的侃上几句，不仅能让自己体面脱身，打破尴尬的局面，又能展示自己豁达大度的胸怀，何乐不为呢？而如果不分场合自嘲，恐怕就是自己不自信的心理作怪了。

自嘲是幽默的最高境界，能合适地运用自嘲的人绝对是一个自信的人。因为自嘲是拿自身的失误、不足甚至生理缺陷来“开涮”。不羞不耻不遮掩，反而将它们放大、夸张、剖析，最后还要会引申发挥、自圆其说，所以会自嘲的人同时是一个聪明的人。抗战胜利后，张大千的好友为张大千践行，特邀梅兰芳作陪，宴会伊始，大家请张大千坐首座。他说：“梅先生是君子，应坐首座，我是小人，应坐末座。”众人不解其意，张解释道：“俗话说’君子动口，小人动手’梅先生唱戏动口，我作画动手，我理该请梅先生首坐。”张大千自嘲为小人，看似自贬，却在幽默中将尊敬之情表达得淋漓尽致，这也正是张大千的谦逊和豁达的人格魅力。
