Scholarship as the one and only candidate in my department, which is the

ultimate accolade for distinguished students endowed by my university.

Presently, I am preparing my graduation thesis and trying for the honor of

Excellent Graduation Thesis.

Research experience and academic activity

When a sophomore, I joined the Association of AI Enthusiast and began to

narrow down my interest for my future research. With the tool of OpenGL and

Matlab, I designed a simulation program for transportation scheduling system. It

is now widely used by different research groups in NUST. I assumed and fulfilled

a sewage analysis & dispose project for Nanjing sewage treatment plant. This

was my first practice to convert a laboratory idea to a commercial product.

In retrospect, I find myself standing on a solid basis in both theory and

experience, which has prepared me for the Ph.D. program. My future research

interests include: Network Scheduling Problem, Heuristic Algorithm research

(especially in GA and Neural network), Supply chain network research, Hybrid

system performance analysis with Petri nets and Data Mining.

Chinese festivals are rich and colorful, there are Qingming Festival, Mid Autumn Festival and so on. In this, I like the Spring Festival most, do you know the origin of the Spring Festival?

Let me tell you about the origin of the Spring Festival.

Long long ago, there is an animal called the "year", every the 30th day of the twelfth month of the Chinese lunar calendar, it will come out of the deadly, terrible. One year, a white - haired grandfather came to the village, and he said, "I can drive away that holy thing." But the villagers did not believe what he said. On this day, as usual, the villagers ran into the mountains to hide the "year" beasts, and the old man insisted on staying. The old man put firecrackers in the backyard in the night, "year" beast to the general turmoil was terrible! When the grandfather of the house all the candles lit, "year" was stopped, and then, grandpa took out firecrackers "Pa, PA, Pa", "year" fright, Grandpa laughed in red, "" that is a fire in the laugh, scared Tirzah legs ran, the old grandpa is a fairy, he left the magic three "years" to the villagers. From then on, we will put up red couplets, firecrackers and dumplings every time in the new year.

If you ask me why I like the Spring Festival, I will tell you, because the Spring Festival is very busy, there are a lot of lanterns, it is good for the new year.

Spring Festival is the most important festival in China. Before the Spring Festival People clean their houses，put red couplets on their gates,and set off firecrackers to drive away the legendary monster “Nian”.

On the eve of the Spring Festival, families get together and have a big dinner. Dumplings are the most traditional food.

The Spring Festival lasts about 15 days long .People visit relatives and friends with the words “Happy new year”. People enjoy the Spring Festival, during this time they can have a good rest.

Children like the festival very much, because they can have delicious food and wear new clothes .They can also get some money from their elders. This money is given to children for good luck.

春节自古以来就是中国的传统节日，也是人们新的一年的生活的开始。在这期间里，全家老少都一起“迎新春，除旧岁”，我们家也不例外。

除夕那天，是我最开心的一天。我早早地把写好的春联准备好，就等着爷爷的胶水了。对于贴春联，我可是个行家，家里春联每年都是我贴的。而且不只是春联，还有那个大大的“福”

字。这“福”字必须要倒贴，寓意是“福”到了的意思，希望在新的一年里能福气满满。

接下来的一下午，可都是大人们的活儿啦，那就是包饺子。这个活儿看起来容易，学起来可就难多了。这不，这次我也想试试。

首先，把馅铺在面皮儿上，再把面皮儿捏起来，这样一个饺子就完成了。我照着“口诀”捏了几个饺子，造型上都挺美观的，可实际上却不怎么样。可能是没捏紧的缘故吧，我包的那几个饺子一到锅里就全露馅了，无奈的我啊，只能吃着面皮喝汤了。

其实除夕的高潮啊是在晚上。我们早早地吃完饺子便下楼放鞭炮了。胆大点儿的毛头小子就放“炮仗”，女孩子则放烟花之类的。当鞭炮声响起来时，才发觉有了浓浓的年味，这才是春节的开始。

除夕后一天就是大年初一，是晚辈给老辈拜年的时候，这一天必须说吉祥的话，寓示着这一年吉祥如意。虽然年轻人不计较什么，但是还是要给爷爷奶奶拜年。穿上新衣服，脑袋里搜罗着各种吉祥话，可无非就是那套“万事如意，身体健康”、“福如东海，寿比南山”之类的，只是老人们听着高兴，做晚辈的也跟着高兴。就这一句话，结束了大年初一，跑断了脚后跟，也磨破了嘴皮子。
