下渚湖风景区有一种奇特的鸟，叫朱鹮。姨父说，这是一种珍惜的鸟类，是国家一级保护动物，和大熊猫一样珍贵呢。它是日本的国鸟，可是在日本却已经灭绝了，只有少量生活在我国，听了姨父的介绍，我真想马上就见识一下这种神奇的鸟。

开到百鸟岛，首先出现的是几个朱鹮的雕塑，它们有的展翅飞翔，有的在捕食，有的几只站在一起好像在窃窃私语。我们在这里拍了几张纪念照，飞快地往前走去。突然峰回路转，三只巨大的鸟笼就呈现在我们眼前。每个鸟笼像我们的房子一样大，里面各架着一根长长的竹竿，许多白色的大鸟一字儿排列在竹竿上，看见我们就呱呱大叫，妈妈说它们在欢迎我们呢。我仔细观察了这些大鸟，它们的个头和白鹤差不多，毛也是白色的，不过羽毛尖上一点淡淡的粉红。朱鹮的脸是朱红色的，嘴巴长长尖尖向下弯曲，我想这大概是它名字的由来吧。我最奇怪的是，朱鹮们排列在竹竿上，每两只之间的距离都是差不多半米左右，是不是接受过特殊训练呢?

The giantPanda(Ailuropoda melanoleuca) ("black-and-white cat-foot") is a mammal classified in the bear family, Ursidae, native to central-western and southwestern China. It is easily recognized by its large, distinctive black patches around the eyes, ears and on its rotund body. Though technically a carnivore, the panda has a diet which is 98% bamboo.
