This is what Id like to ask you to help with. A little more time for

children to be children. Stretch the moment of magic and playfulness. Distract

them from the realities of a world gone mad so that they can laugh with their

breath rather than sob with their tears. Especially those caring for family

members, or suffering illness, hunger or poverty. Especially those hiding in

buildings as bombs rain down, or being handed shaking with fear or cold into a

boat to escape environmental disaster or war. Please help to light up their

worlds with a moment of joy and hope.

When I think about it youve got it tough this year... And when I really

think about it Im not sure that asking you for a lightsaber and getting one

(not that I ever did by the way) is equatable with controlling the space time

continuum and making the good of childhood last a little longer.

But you do inspire wonder and awe amongst those that write you letters and

go to sleep hoping there might be a new object in their possession come dawn.

You inspire good behaviour and, at least in my memory, some desperate last

minute attempts to redeem bad behaviour so as not to be overlooked. Spare a

thought too for those millions who want to write to you but through illiteracy

cant. Hear their words and help to give them the time and chance to learn how

to read and write so they can better their lives and escape their impoverished

beginnings.

I feel a little sorry for you. And I guess Ive done exactly what I said I

wouldnt... Asked you to help with adult problems and solve some of the greatest

worries we have for our children. I promise to leave some extra port and mince

pies for you!

过节回家，外婆总会拿出几个装的满满的帆布袋子让我们带上。不管你在外面过得有多潇洒，家里人总会担心你缺这少那。其实我们很怕麻烦，当我们背着几个分量十足的帆布袋子挤进人山人海的候车站，还没出发，便已觉得已经是疲惫不堪了。很羡慕那些两手空空，来去自如的人，看着他们身上只背着一个小小的旅行包，毫不费力的从身旁走过。能做到这样，“我带着你，你带着钱”，插兜就走，来去自如，就很自在。但外婆不允许。过节时邻居家送的腊肉，朋友去外地玩带回来的土特产，今天去菜场买到的几颗新鲜的青菜，散步回家时看到的水果，还有馋了很久的野菜……她把这些密密匝匝的封好打包，就等着我们离开的时候通通塞进袋子里。前几年，外婆的帆布袋更加庞大。新得到的一包毛巾，足足有五六十条，自己手织的毛线衣裤，七拐八拐到农家乐买到的土鸡蛋，连酸奶都恨不得要装上那么几箱。母亲和她说：“妈，要不你快递给我吧。”“弄丢了怎么办？不行不行。”老人家天生就有着一颗放不下的心。但慢慢地，外婆也开始精简她的帆布袋。大概有两个原因，一是母亲的身体不好，重的东西都是我来背着，但我一个小女娃娃又能背多少东西呢？二是有一回外婆到家里来看我们，帮我收拾衣柜的时候看到底层全都是他为我准的衣服，那些衣服都太厚，和自己买来的衣服不好搭配，就这样收藏了起来。外婆也逐放下她那颗精致的心，勇于自嘲了。外婆拿出手织的毛线衣自嘲的说：“这放到乡下都过时了。”这让我良心很不安，从这以后，外婆给的我全都接受。今年的帆布袋子并没有鼓囊囊的，但是分量不轻，打开一看，是锅鸡汤。外婆解释道：“没看到什么好的东西，就给你炖了锅汤，你最爱喝的。”其实是她没办法一一问我们，在旁边观察，只能通过我们对袋子的反应来挑选袋子的内容。给新米的时候，我有点无奈；装上蜂蜜的时候，我又“啊”了一声。有时候拒绝并不是摇头叹气，但对于抱有期待的人来说，对方没有露出笑容，就是一种拒绝。

从那以后，我不再害怕厚重的帆布袋，只希望外婆别再老去。

Traditional Chinese culture is beginning to capture the attention of the world. This is true even as popular culture that has traditionally been considered Western begins to spread throughout China. Kung Fu, especially, has had a great impact on the millions of people who first learned about China through it. From that, they may come to China and learn about other aspects of this culture, such as traditional operas like the Beijing and Sichuan ones. Asian nations have long known about the greatness of ancient Chinese culture. Their own cultures are a mix of native ones and those Chinese characteristics. Korea and Japan long ago adopted ideas such as Confucianism is something that continues today even as it is challenged by Pop Culture. This strength comes from the ideas given in the Four Books of Confucianism (The Great Learning, The Doctrine of the Mean, The Analects of Confucius, and The Book of Mencius). These books built upon the ideas of an even more ancient period codified in the Five Classics. From them, the West learns such things as Fengshui and other concepts that are uniquely Chinese. China has taken steps to further this spread of its culture by establishing Chinese Cultural Centers in such places as the United States and Europe.

在现如今科技飞速发展的时代，人们可用的通讯方式真的是越来越多。一部手机，一条微信，一封邮件，就能让人们随时随地彼此取得联系。

而我最钟情的通讯方式，恰是早已落伍的方式之一——手写书信。虽然写信并没有我们现在的各种通讯方式来得方便、讯速，邮寄到他人手上需要一段时间，但它依然活跃在历史的舞台上，并且延续了很久的时间。

我并未向任何人写过信，毕竟现在写信的人已经很少很少，可我却真的很想与他人通信。因为我很享受笔尖在纸面上划动的感觉，仿佛手写的字，有一种灵性，不像手机中那冷冰冰的方块字，显得那样的死气沉沉。

如今人们的生活节奏也日益加快，很多人每天围着手机团团转，看似忙得不亦乐乎，瞅得头晕眼花。那为何他们不能抽出几日，来个“闭关修心”呢？这几日不需担心任何事务，关掉所有的通讯设备，静心养性，让我们试着慢下来，慢一点，再慢一点，而不再被各种各样的提示声所支配，也大可不必担心落后于时代。真正的静下心来拿出纸笔，给自己远在他乡的朋友或亲人写封信，随后可以拿出你心爱的却一直尘封不动的书，一边悠悠看书，一边静静等待他们的回信……这样，别人可能会觉得我有些神经质，科技都这样发达了为什么还要写信呢？但我的朋友和亲人应该会懂得，他们会知晓，我，是不是心累了。有些人会给你回信，可有的人就不一定了，但这样足矣。等待回信的过程中，也许就会发现忙碌而又快节奏的生活中竟会有那么一点点的小亮光，来照亮我远行的道路。

写信，是我憧憬的一种通讯方式，它带着满身的沧桑来寻找着我，是那么地熟悉与感性，它如同一个这个时代里迟到的旅行者，带来远方的消息。
