乍听之下，这话似乎说得严重，可是，仔细一想，却觉得十分有理。一个喜欢读书的人，假如好久没接近书本了，那必定是因为他的心思分散在其他琐碎拉杂的事情上。而这些琐碎拉杂的事情使人忙碌，正是造成一个人思想庸俗肤浅的最大原因。思想庸俗肤浅形之于外的时候，言语就自然无味，面目也随之可憎了。没错，我就有过这般经历。一个暑假时，我经常一个人在家，天天看电视吃饭睡觉像猪一样，索然无味地过日子，便时时进书房啃书本。这一啃就养成习惯了：每天早上起床便阅读书籍，照镜子都觉得面色红润，与家人说话时常石破天惊，我便把读书作为我生活中必不可缺少的事。开学后，我的心思放在了服饰与玩的时间上了，不经意时照了照镜子，三分像人，七分像鬼!说话像得了口吃样，即便流利，也是些庸俗的言语。我吓了一大跳，立刻觉到读书很重要，所以无论如何每天我都要读几本书。我喜爱阅读书籍还得从三岁时说起：那些双休日，每天我都要缠者父母给我讲《买火柴的小女孩》《海的女儿》《坚定的锡兵》等童话故事。

有那么一天，我十分想听故事，而父母又不在家，我又识些字，便捧起连环画看了起来。不知觉中，产生了对书本的浓厚兴趣。渐渐地，我的识字量大了，这些书已不能满足我的需要，我便阅读了《十万个为什么》及《西游记》等名著。现在，我已上初一了，早期书本的熏陶使我的语文水平在班里、年级上都名列前茅，与家人、同学说话时常出口不凡，但是，我仍继续学习。每逢节假日有时间便啃书本。饭食是物质粮食，书本知识是精神粮食。当一个人吃的油光满面，精神上却饿得疲惫不堪，其实他是很可怜的;世上有人喜欢储蓄金钱，有人喜欢搜集邮票珍玩，也有人喜欢把佳言名句储存脑中。我就是最后那种人。

读书能使人风度高雅，气宇轩昂，远胜过服饰上的装饰品及家宅中的堆金累玉，你们都来和我一起分享读书的乐趣吧!

I asked my English teacher this morning, “How do you learn Chinese when you were a child? Think about it, and you’ll find the answer.”

I cannot recall how I studied my native language, but I still remember the way my little cousin learned to speak. He listened to what people said and tried to imitate what he had heard. At two or three years old, he could express himself in simple language. Now, he is five years old, he can speak more perfectly. He is using language, thinking in it and talking in it all the time.

I understand if I use English all the time, it won’t seem so difficult. I will learn it quickly. It’s the best way to learn a foreign language.

今天早上我问我的英语老师,“你怎么学习中文当你还是一个孩子?想想看,你就会找到答案。”

我不记得我怎么学习我的母语,但我仍然记得我的小表弟的方式学会了说话。他听人说什么,并试图模仿他所听到的。两到三岁,他可以用简单的语言表达自己。现在,他五岁,他会说更完美。他是使用语言,思考它,在它所有的时间。

我明白如果我用英语,它不会那么困难。我很快就会学会的。这是学习外语的最佳途径。
