这本书是一本非常有趣的书，它讲明了大大并不真正懂得孩子，就像小时候的“我”，“我”因为看一条蟒蛇一下子吞下一只巨大的动物，“我”突发奇想，把“我”所想到的画了出来，画的正是一条蛇吞下了一头大象。当“我”把画拿给大人们看时，便问他们怕不怕，他们说不会怕一顶帽子，“我”把画画得更透明些，他们就叫“我”去学语文啦、地理啦、数学啦……我便把画画这了不起的职业丢了。
